    Great work 3Gstore. Not only did you demonstrate the game on 4G but you actually had someone who could play.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    For gaming a lot of our customers go with Cradlepoint or Peplink routers. In addition to supporting 3G/4G they'll work with traditional Cable/DSL connections and add features like bandwidth monitoring that you won't find on most home routers.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    For gaming most of our customers go with the Pantech UML290 + Cradlepoint MBR95 combo. There's a lot of different options depending on what you want out of the network in addition to gaming, but for strictly gaming it's a pretty popular option.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, the Momentum is fully compatible with the Cradlepoint routers and most go with our Cradlepoint MBR95 for home use and gaming.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    We typically recommend the Pantech UML290 and MBR95 for most home users. If you want enhanced WiFi range or load balancing the MBR1400 is a more powerful router, but isn't necessary if all you want to do is game.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just depends on the area, if you're right next to a cellular tower nothing is going to help. It's likely an issue with the backhaul from the tower and it results in a somewhat slower ping time. The best combo for you gaming would be one of our routers and a dedicated USB modem. Latency on the USB modems are typically a little bit lower and will allow you to directly hardwire your console to get the lowest ping possible in your area.

    Great cant wait till i can buy it! Thanks 3Gstore you've helped me a lot in the past 2 years (: I'll recommend you to anyone i know that needs cell phone boosters or anything else you sell!

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    With a USB modem and a compatible Cradlepoint router there is no extra software needed. The router holds all the needed drivers. It is usually as simple as plugging the USB modem into the router, and then connecting the console to the router.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Pantech UML290 is just like a cellphone but it only does data service. It communicates back and forth with the cellular tower then the router allows you to network the traffic to your consoles or provide WiFi to multiple devices.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Depends on your area, if signal and pings are better outside the home then that would help. 4G LTE should have a ping ranging around 45-90ms, which should be pretty good for most games.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, you can use any of our WiFi as WAN routers to convert that signal to Ethernet out. We also sell fully embedded routers that would allow you to take the SIM out of your MiFi and place in the embedded router. What type of budget do you have on equipment?

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    We recommend the UML290, the USB551L seems to have more issues. We've got a lot of customers that use the Cradlepoint/UML290 for gaming!

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    That would depend if your in a 3G area, 4G or 4G LTE area. In 3G areas I'd say around 125-200ms, 4G HSPA+ areas around 80-125ms and 4G LTE areas 45-90ms. For gaming I'd recommend the USBConnect Momentum plus a router so you can get a dedicated Ethernet wired connection vs. WiFi from the Momentum.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @playstation406 I'd recommend going with the Pantech UMl290 and Cradlepoint MBR95 as a great low cost gaming setup. We can setup the Verizon account and that qualifies you for additional discounts on accessories as well as free tech support for a year! The reason we recommend this setup is because the MiFi's have some issues with a secondary firewall and don't provide as low as latency as direct USB style modems.

    Thanks for the info. Have you experimented with Sprint's 4G service on console gaming, as well? I noticed their data plans are unlimited.

    @3Gstore talking about the Verizon MiFi device (phone) itself. Usually when I have 1 bar, my booster makes it 2 bars, 2-3 and 3-4 (max signal strength) I have also found out that when using my signal booster when gaming seems to make the latency a bit...jumpy (3 bars - 1 bar - 2 bar - 3 bar - 1 bar) but when I take it out of the booster and put it where I usually put it and get the occasional 3 bars instead of max 4 on the mifi device, the latency bars on the cod menu stay between 2-3 (mostly 3)

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah Ethernet is always going to be better than a wireless connection. Glad you were able to get it working a little better ;)

  • @evdovalerie
    @evdovalerie 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    We recommend using the UML290 with the MBR95 to avoid the secondary firewall on the hotspot

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    As long as the connection is reliable you should be able to game without issue. We do offer antennas and amplifiers if the signal is unreliable to help stabilize the connection to make your gaming experience more enjoyable.

  • @evdovalerie
    @evdovalerie 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    There may be some difference in latency between a dedicated mobile broadband modem (USB or hotspot) and a phone hotspot. In comparison testing we've done, we saw mobile broadband devices perform better than phones. In regards to Speedtest, it normally uses the most available and closest server to you-that may vary from time to time especially if you're connecting to different cell towers at different times of day. Speeds can also fluctuate with more users connecting/disconnecting from the tower

  • @evdovalerie
    @evdovalerie 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    We haven't worked with the Home Fusion router, so we wouldn't be able to offer any advice or opinion on that. However, between the USB & Cradlepoint and the Mobile hotspot, we would recommend going with the USB & Cradlepoint. That is going to be a more stable connection than the wireless mobile hotspot, and is also easier to get a moderate or open NAT type with.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you on Telus? That's the only carrier the UML397 is listed as compatible on. It may work on another carrier too, but may require APN changes. Did you order your equipment through 3Gstore or another vendor? We offer in house tech support if you purchased the router through us.

  • @MrTeacherDude
    @MrTeacherDude 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. Verizon 3G is my only option and I'm sick of it. This looks promising. What distance does the 4g signal travel from the tower? And have you tested any of the 4g mifis devices (instead of using cradlepoint) with the ps3?

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MrTeacherDude
    The MiFi devices like the 4510L do work, however, without the aid of a router to do proper port forwarding don't yield the same experience. Also, distance is hard to predict depending on the topology in your area. IE - Out West in flat areas a tower is going offer a much larger coverage area than a tower that has several tree's and mountains to go through.

  • @Buckkiller888
    @Buckkiller888 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @3Gstore thanks for the help and replys, I read that Verizon plans to have all 3g areas to have 4g by the end of 2013 I believe? Hopefully they will expand it to me in about a year, I have 1 more question for you. Do you always get the same amount of signal strength on your MiFi device when you turn it on? Mine gets 3-4 bars usually but sometimes it will randomly get 1 or 2 bars for no reason for a couple hours, of course I use my booster (Wilson Sleek) but that doesn't improve latency. Yes, I

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @sanantonioskating Not sure what your problem is, you could connect to a Cradlepoint router via WiFi then use the connection over to the PS3/Xbox360.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, Netflix and music downloading will work great over 4G LTE. Just keep in mind that you can chew through your data cap pretty quick if your watching movies in HD, which LTE easily supports.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Jetpack has a secondary firewall and using one of our routers will still result in some Nat related issues because of the DHCP the Jetpack hands off to the MiFi unit. Our recommendation is to get a dedicated USB modem so you don't have to deal with a second firewall. We sell cheap no contract cards to do a SIM swap on our website!

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Kaboose811
    What smartphone are you using with Sprint? You'd just need to enable the hotspot or download an application that will allow you to turn your phone into one. The router would then allow you to convert that signal into Ethernet out and give you a better overall gaming experience vs the phone direct.

  • @drebone777
    @drebone777 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I used my evo 4G with wimax and it played real well with a good signal. No lagging. Wimax and LTE is definitely a good experience 4 online gaming

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No problem, I know a lot of customers that play a variety of different games over 3G and 4G!

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @raidergeek24
    Depends on the game you're playing, but most typically use 50-75MB an hour. That would work out to about 204.8 hours (50MB/hr) to 136.5 hours (75MB/hr).

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AdnaPirate2309 Did you try picking up one of our external 4G LTE antennas? If you have a metal roof getting an antenna outside could make all the difference to get a strong reliable signal.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Buckkiller888
    One bar on the phone itself or one bar within the COD menu? If you're referring to the menu on the game, that signal bar is rating your latency to the host. As your latency goes up you'll see the signal bars in the game drop. This would relate directly to the ping spikes I referred to earlier and there isn't anything you can do on your end to combat them. If the one bar you're referring to is on your phone then we do have amplifiers that may help, but won't improve your latency.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @TheKillermonkey3
    You can optimize the connection and open the correct ports, which could potentially help with the lag. Using a router also allows you to place the hotspot in a different area of the home where you might get better reception, which can sometimes result in better speed/reliability.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @betopelotaz1
    Yes, lower end models like the CTR35 will support 16 WiFi devices, 32 for the MBR95 and all the way up to 128 connections with high end models like the MBR1400.

  • @Buckkiller888
    @Buckkiller888 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @3Gstore I think you may be right, There are two towers the same length away but one is straight east from my house and the other is south east. 1 is considered a "High Tower" (200ft+) 1 is considered a Medium Tower (100ft+) I bet it is getting from both and when it gets from the lower tower I get bad signal and when I get signal from the good tower I get good signal. It seems this is the problem. I am guessing I can buy a Directional Antenna at your online store?

  • @5Gstore

    @runescapeman210
    You should be able to play over a 3G connection as long as the latency is good. What type of hardware are you currently using?

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The MiFi units don't offer the control of a full router like the Cradlepoint's you see in the videos. The best thing you could do is get a USB modem and pair it with a Cradlepoint to get the best gaming experience and Nat type.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your not restricted to dedicated USB modems, we recommend them because they work better than WiFi devices like the personal hotspots. You can go to any carrier in your area and get a compatible modem, or get the service through us and save with a combo bundle. I'd recommend giving us a call and we can go over different options that would work in your area.

  • @evdovalerie
    @evdovalerie 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Select carriers make it impossible to get a fully open Nat type 2 connection. AT&T physically blocks ports at the carrier level, which makes it impossible to open the connection through the router. The best NAT type you may be able to get is moderate. 3Gstore also recommends using a USB 3G/4G modem (like Verizon or Sprint) for gaming as opposed to MiFi type devices to avoid secondary firewalls and typically yield better in game latency.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @3Gstore I forgot to mention you could also look at our Tekkeon battery packs if you wanted to use the MBR95 instead of a battery powered router. I did a demo of that product in another video. Search "Tekkeon MP3450i R2 Backup Solution" and it should be the top item by 3Gstore

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    We're not familiar with that model, I know that on our Cradlepoint routers you can make some changes that help improve the experience. As long as you've got Ethernet to the box that will help a lot too.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'll test it over the weekend and see if it connects or not. Stay tuned for an update!

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's a good question, I don't think that you'd be able to do it though. If so, you'd need the COR IBR600LE or ARC MBR1400LE series because they're the only models that accept a 4G sim card. When I get a chance I'll pull an active sim from a Thunderbolt and see if it works :)

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    The LTE network gives out a private IP that doesn't match your outbound IP to an external website. With a Nat type 3 you will likely have issues joining friends or when a host migration occurs. Using a USB modem/router combo will give you a Nat type 2 connection and the ability to use Ethernet out so you get lower latency in game for the best experience.

  • @LoUMageddo
    @LoUMageddo 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you live in a 4g area you can can get Homefusion Broadband. It has faster speeds and better ping than a hotspot or a mifi. Verizon supplies their own wireless/wired router. They mount a small antenna outside or inside the home for better reception. At my house I have 24mbps down, 15mbps up and average 60 on my ping. I pay $80 a month and that lets me play COD for 8 hours every day in a month.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @runescapeman210
    No worries, if you're not in a 4G area you can still game over a 3G connection, it just won't be quite as smooth. Did you notice if you have 3G in your neighborhood?

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AdnaPirate2309 The USBConnect Shockwave for an older legacy modem (We have no contract versions available), or if you plan to sign a new 2/yr the USBConnect Momentum. If you go with the Momentum you'll need to be on 3.4.0 router firmware, which we include instructions and tech support if you need help upgrading.

  • @evdovalerie
    @evdovalerie 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is possible do so with a router through certain firewall and DNS settings. If you have purchased a router through 3Gstore, or plan to, we have a gaming tip sheet with instructions. If you have a Cradlepoint or Peplink/Pepwave router purchased from elsewhere, contact 3Gstore for details on how to purchase our gaming tip sheet - just be aware that while we cannot guarantee a lower nat type, most users have been able to achieve a moderate or even open nat type

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    This video was shot using Verizon's 4G LTE network. Typical latency over LTE is around 45-90ms.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AdnaPirate2309 If you get the Momentum you'd want to get a newer NetBSD router like the CTR35, MBR95 or MBR1400. These are the latest gen router and offer support for the newer AT&T modems.

  • @Buckkiller888
    @Buckkiller888 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @3Gstore and yes, thanks to you I realize that it is ping spikes causing the problem and I cannot fix this and have to deal with it and just hope that I get good latency. it seems now that my Verizon MiFi wants to get better latency during the day rather than over the night now, wierd but OK. Seems I just need to be on at the right times, thanks for your help, if I need something for my MiFi services I will use your store in the future, again thanks.

  • @evdovalerie
    @evdovalerie 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    In our experience, the only possible way to achieve an open NAT would be with a USB modem, like the Pantech UML290, along with a router, such as the Cradlepoint MBR95, but unfortunately there still is no guarantee you'll get open.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @bmayne0481
    You need to go into the admin interface and under "firewall" enable "Static Nat Ports" and save the settings. That should get you back to a Nat Type 2.

  • @MrTeacherDude
    @MrTeacherDude 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I plug a Verizon 4g USB into the Cradlepoint router, then hard wire the router to the PS3, therefore negating using the PS3's Wi-Fi connection? If so, would this reduce latency? Love the video btw. Thanks!

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @decoy123123
    I'm guessing you're just using ICS to get online then? It's tough to say what the problem is since you don't have any control over port forwarding. It could also be a setting off directly in your PS3.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AdnaPirate2309 Nat types really only affect joining different lobbies or voice chat with friends. Lower latency with a Nat type 3, would play better than higher latency with a Nat type 3, you just may have issues merging hosts or joining some games.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @dacolenutt I know some of our customers use rooted devices to connect, but depending on the application used it may or may not work. If you wanted to the greatest chance of the device working with a rooted phone, I'd suggest looking at our Pepwave Surf On The Go instead. They give you the ability to assign a static IP for the device, where the Cradlepoint's don't, which can be useful when connecting certain types of hotspots.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You'd need to do a SIM swap and get a device like a UML290 and plug into one of our routers. This would then allow you to remove the second firewall that the 890L has built in it.

    @3Gstore Will both the MBR95 and MBR1000 work for ps3. Also I plan on getting a cradlepoint mobile router that will work on the ps3 too which mobile router you recommend? And are there any mobile routers that I can connect to a car and that are rechargeable or that I can power using a rechargeable battery pack?

    What seems to be your problem?

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AdnaPirate2309 Definitely the metal roof, power lines shouldn't have much of an affect on the signal quality.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ideally you want a minimum of two bars to have a decent gaming experience. 3 bars and above will give you a solid experience playing with your friends.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @terminator51763
    I don't see why not, but you may be at a slight disadvantage when somebody has a lower latency than you. If you're good at the game you should do will with 3G or 4G; 4G just gives you an extra edge over 3G with reduced latency. 3 bars to 4 bars should be a pretty good signal and indicate that your latency to the host is adequate to play.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    This depends on if you have the hotspot feature for your phone. If you do, you can connect it to a router by WiFi as WAN, meaning a wireless connection from the phone to a router that you can use for extending WiFi range as well as converting to ethernet. Depending on the phone it may tether by USB directly to a router, you'll want to give us a call to see what routers are compatible by USB tether with your device. 3Gstore .com/contact

    @MrTeacherDude
    Absolutely, if you watch the other video I did demonstrating a 3G connection you'll see I'm connected via Ethernet. I always prefer a wired connection because it can reduce the latency slightly and gives you the most reliable connection. I'd only use WiFi as a last resort to connect a console for gaming.

    When I click the links in the description it goes to different router. I love gaming on 4g though, so portable and more reliable than cable connection at home that always freezes and drops out. Latency so low too, even more when connecting external antenna to hotspot.

    • @5Gstore

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It depends on what all your doing with the connection. If you look on our channel you will see another video where we show how much bandwidth games use (which is nowhere close to what some think). The thing you need to watch out for is game updates and/or patches that will chew through the cap faster.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wish we could help but that package is proprietary to Verizon and something we haven't worked with directly. You may want to contact Verizon's tech team for help, but if I had to guess it's because you're dropping packets. I don't believe there is a way to add a higher gain antenna or amplifier to the antenna that comes with their kit :( In regards to your other question, yes, you can game over 4G and it's going to be much better typically than 3G.

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, the PS3 doesn't have a driver that recognizes the UML290 - You need a router for connectivity

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @decoy123123 What router are you using to get online?

  • @5Gstore
    @5Gstore  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    That would depend on who has the best coverage in your area. Do you know anybody with a Verizon or AT&T phone that can come by and see who offers better connectivity and speed? Any smartphone on the different carriers should give you an indicator of performance with a wireless modem/router combo.

    @playstation406 Yes, both will work, but I'd recommend the MBR95 because it's the newer model and better for virtually everything. The MBR1000 is an old obsolete model that will not receive any firmware updates in the near future for new devices. For a mobile router checkout our PHS300 3gstore[dot]com/phs300

    The latest firmware no longer has a "gaming" feature that is talked about in the gaming tip sheet. How do I set up my consoles on the MBR1200B? I've got 3 PS3s, 360, & PS4 that don't work as good as the old CTR 500. Any help is appreciated.

    I mainly use my Cable connection for gaming, but we've got a lot of customers that use this as their stand alone Internet connection for gaming. You'll find that 10GB will get you quite a bit of gaming, just don't download a ton of game demos :)
    Yes, we have 3G antennas and amplifiers, just like 4G systems. If you have questions feel free to give us a call at 866-347-8673 to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

    We only have amplifiers for 3G signal at this time, but 4G amplifiers are just around the corner!

    Thanks for the video... I am in the sticks and was told I could get cable till after I bought the house. Find out - no cable, no fios, just dsl at 1.5/700 :( I guess I should be happy with that. I just got Galaxy Nexus and I am able to eek out 1 bar of 4G on the top floor of my house. I was thinking of getting a 4G booster (kit i saw $600) but I am wondering about - ping, unlimited really unlimited? and if you have any experience with 4G boosters? thanks

    @tstanfield111 Only if your phone has the hotspot feature built in. Then you'd be able to use a WiFi as WAN router to connect via WiFi. Unless it's an older phone, some do offer the ability to tether via direct USB (pretty old phones).

    Can I buy a 3g/4g router from you guys and use it as opposed to having to use the Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot on U.S. Cellular? Or would it be better to game just using the modem I just mentioned that they provide?

    No way to tether a phone to a PS3 that we are aware of, nor would you be able to tether it to a router. The only possible way to use your phone with a router would be to use the hotspot feature with the router's WiFi as WAN feature. However, in doing that, you're going to see a decrease in speeds when connected thru the router, as well as issues with double NAT

    As long as you've got a good 4G WiMAX signal you should maintain around 3-4 bars vs 2-3 bars typically on a 3G connection.

    That's just the advertised average speeds; IE 600-1.4Mbps down and 400-700Kbps up is the typical range for a 3G connection. It sounds like you may have a signal or capacity issue in your area. Have you conducted a site survey yet? You can find instructions here - 3gstore[dot]com/rssi Run some tests and post the results - The goal is to see if better signal results in better performance at your location and how far you need to go before it gets better.

    It sounds like you're just in an iffy area. The only other thing it could be is if you're between two cell towers your card may be jumping between towers. Use antennasearch[dot]com to see where the towers are in your area. If you find that you're jumping between towers I'd recommend a directional antenna, then you can point at either tower and use the one that gives you the better speeds/latency! FYI - At my location I can connect to 3 different VZ towers and use this method.

    His NAT type was open for this testing, so type 2. Unfortunately, this is not always possible for all users. Some get stuck with a moderate NAT

    is it possible to get my nat type lower than strict on 4g LTE without a $500 static ip from verizon? I need to be able to force host on cod with a jailbroken ps3 Thanks you've helped me out a lot in the past when i had 3g
