The other mods I showcase at the end of this video and previous ones should all work with my mod as well. I tested all the ones at the end of the video together. I plan on adding some more scrappy stuff over time, definitely a couple more structures and trees. I’m pretty sure it would only mess with your builds if I edit that specific item but even then I think it would still show up in your game as long as I don’t fully remove it or rename the item. I kinda just wanted to get it out, see if anyone experiences any bugs and then update it once with some more stuff that I get requested or think of.
Great mod, really enjoying it. My feedback would be that it can be a struggle to place some of the buildings and fences due to the foundations not being the biggest. If I build my outpost at the landing field of the ship it's all good, but if I go wondering and find another location which isn't as flat it's harder to place the buildings.
Thanks! I agree, it can definitely be difficult if not impossible placing some of the items on more hilly terrain. But the alternatives are you either have a big cement foundation attached to it ( like vanilla habs) which wouldn’t work for these items because they don’t have foundations that size and it wouldn’t look right. It’s different for something like the yellow storage container because there’s already a model for that foundation. I wouldn’t know how to make a foundation the size of the sleepcrate container for example. Or the other alternative is you have the item float when it’s on uneven terrain like vanilla decorations would. I think now with how the items can sink a little can give you some wiggle room on a little uneven terrain but if you place one on a steep hill it’s probably not going to work. I’ve also found that most items in my mod just place better in first person view than the aerial build camera which I can’t seem to find a reason for. Constantly learning new things every time I use the creation kit, so if I ever find better ways to make it work I’ll definitely update it over time. Thanks for the feedback!!
Something I also really want to see in outpost mods are more "Official" structures. Kinda like the buildings you find in civilian colonies around the place. Structures that look more permanent than what you get with the current outpost structures, which look like they can be relatively quickly packed up if need be.
You can definitely make a permanent looking build with every mod shown in this video, even with this one + the vanilla parts you could make something really cool. And the ship you can get from your parents by choosing the kid trait, I just re colored it.
Hopefully Starfield gets the same kind of robust building mods as Fallout 4. l still haven't bought it, but a Sim Settlements or proper city builder/planet colonization style mod would be awesome
Yeah that really would be awesome for Starfield, in my opinion it makes just as much sense in Starfield as Fallout, there's a reason people would want to expand civilization on other planets. Still alot of potential with the outpost building in Starfield
Before deactivating the mod (for troubleshooting) - Make sure to delete every item associated with this mod , failing to do so will leave any attached items visible and unable to interact with causing a CTD - just a heads up -
Hello! Small question/request if you dont mind. Is it possible to make costum crafting stations? Just an example, a armor crafting station that looks something like 5:12. Reason for asking this is I think original stations are too big if you have small ship/outpost (which I like more). I would love to see your take on this idea for each crafting station :)
Those are custom crafting stations at 5:12 this mod has one of each or are you asking for smaller custom crafting stations? I’m currently working on a huge update for this mod, it’ll actually be its own separate mod (Scrappy Structures 2.0) as it’s gotten too big. It’ll add over 100+ more items and every structure will have proper lighting and environment protection.

I love these latest mods, but i had to remove them. THey seemed to be causing hard crash to desktop on my xbox. And most of the shacks wouldn't build due to lack of surface?
I think it has something to do with other mods and the recent update. I actually bought Starfield on Xbox over the weekend so I can test on both PC and Xbox. I’ve had no issues on either with all 3 of my mods installed together as well as other mods. A small percent are dealing with issues but most likely it’s something interfering with something else. It would be best to start a new game with my mods installed and see if the crashing continues, if it doesn’t it could be an issue with another mod or mods interfering with one n other.
Everything should place fine but I did have some issues placing the larger structures while in the build camera view. Maybe try placing it from your characters perspective if you were experiencing the issues while in the build camera. Were they the larger structures you were having issues with?
Yeah definitely the plan as long as they have a scrappy feel to them. I already have a few other larger structures that fit the theme in mind. I wanted to add more but I had to eventually just stop adding and upload the mod. Originally the mod was supposed to have the sleepcrate trailers & the storage containers, but then I got carried away lol.
Hey there! just had a thought - i would love a mod that added more attractive crew stations other than those god awful white cubicles! something like your doing with the work benches, but maybe something that would look nice in the living quarters , something that blends a little better perhaps and maybe a little smaller?? just thought i would drop that hint!

@@MillsBuilds I have that luxury houses mod and my outpost is the rock from akila but on jemison my companions can’t even navigate the building even if I have them follow me 😂.. that’s bards mod will just have NPC’s sitting at my gate 😂😂 given time I’ll get what I want
Funny you ask that because I actually have that as a mod I was working on but couldn’t get it to work. It kept crashing the CK, my idea was to make them like a separate cell so you’d place a skyscraper and it would have a door at the bottom, you open the door and it brings you into a penthouse. These mods take a lot of time and effort to make, along with the fact it’s a whole learning process for me as well so I can’t make any promises but if I can get that idea to work I’d love to make it happen.

The problem of this houses is there are no suitable for hostile environment, only O² planets. But is nice one.
