    Bro. I just subscribed to your channel. Going to is eye open. I'm a Jamaican raised here in DMV area DC,MD, VA. Washington DC to be precise. My first time In the motherland was 2015 with my Ghanain friend. I visited W.E.B DUBOI center, President Nkrumah brought Martin Luther King, Malcom X, Muhammad Ali, Maya Angelou to Ghana. I visited Kweme Nkrumah Memorial center , I touched his grave and saluted him, it was very emotional Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was a very powerful man. After 7 months later, I purchased 2 acres of land and started building apartments for rent. I got to married a Ghanaian lady. You are blessed to be in the motherland. Make sure you invest in there for your next generation

    OH MY GOSH! I watch a lot of videos on Ghana (Africa) but I don't think any video gave me more enjoyment than yours has. I have shared it with my family, with my kids. We need to be proud to be African and your positive energy and pride is felt throughout this video. Thank you for this. Finally I have someone that matches my enthusiasm about returning to our ppl to learn the culture. 🥰

    Labadi beach is very safe. Pushy vendors can be a bit annoying but just go with the flow.

      Nah, that place isn't safe 😄😄, all kinds of characters (they need some filtering system or something). It's not necessarily dangerous either, but I'm just acknowledging that depending on who's there it might not be completely safe. I think some more security will take care of it, because these days more and more people keep going there. It's almost too packed

    Thank you for sharing your experiences in Ghana. Your open attitude is great. Funerals in Ghana are a big thing. It’s where relatives, friends and acquaintances gather. If you express a desire to attend a funeral I’m sure someone will get you to one. It may sound morbid, but it’s just part of the culture and you don’t need to personally know the deceased to pay your respects. That will give you a window into how Ghanaians live their regular lives. Enjoy your stay.

      Thank you and I've seen a lot of symbolic fabrics/draping across a lot of houses and we we're told some colors can represent a passing/funeral. If I get the chance I will, thank you!

    Some people like Nkrumah, others don't and some are in the middle. Personally I think any cult of personality isn't good, people are people and they're flawed. Not to mention some of the leadership choices weren't great (he seemed set on power). I don't know if you've learned this yet, but the ghanaian people removed him themselves. Some will tell you about cia involvement, but i think that's besides the point. The people were clearly open to working with the cia because they didn't like what he was doing
    Also it's 'cheew' not 'triee'. It's almost like a whistling sound but most people can't make that sound. There is no "t" sound in the word "Twi"

    nkrumah realized (thru uk/us civ rights movements etc) what yt supremacy really was and came back to make "africans" understand why we need to unite ASAp
    sadly you don't really know you are "black" till you leave the continent ( he was heavily misunderstood by most locals in his time)

      Well, if you try to bring communist dictator style rule people will feel that way. Dictatorship isn't natural to ghana, it's not part of our culture. Traditionally we have always been able to select our leaders. And communism/socialism is a 'western' idea. So anyone who claims they're walking away from the west but turns to socialism/communism and removes the people's personal freedoms and economic freedoms is contradicting themselves

    IT CAN NOT BE DANGEROUS BRO. NOT GHANA. THE SECOND MOST PEACEFUL COUNTRY IN AFRICA. NO VIOLENCE. EVEN FIGHTING, YOU HARDLY SEE. IT IS JUST THE NATURE OF THE PEOPLE. THIS IS WHY NIGERIANS ARE RUNNING TO GHANA. IT IS ESTIMATED OVER 5 MILLION OF THEM. EVEN THE AFRO BEAT MUSICIANS FROM NIGERIA, ALL HAVE HOUSES IN GHANA, BECAUSE IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT SAFE OVER THERE IN NIGERIA

    • @sisteroflight9146
      @sisteroflight9146 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Let's keep saying the second most peaceful country. The country is being taken over by Nigerians. The government of Ghana is not doing their job. If you go on Google, it says there are only 77,000. Ghana is sitting on a timebomb if they don't even know how many non-Ghanaians there are in the country.

    • @blackblaze5271
      @blackblaze5271 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it can, anywhere can be dangerous. They let anyone go there so depending on who's there it's possible it won't be totally safe. Also it's unnecessary to bring nigeria into it and compare. If they talk about ghana you will complain and say they're mentioning us

    Before you draw conclusions, you should have evidence to back up your claim Bruh. Ghana is NOT dangerous, so, I don’t know why you uttered the words “can be” at the beginning of your video. Ghana stands at the top of the list of most peaceful countries in Africa. Your words have power, and can negatively impact the positive momentum that Black people all over the world are working hard to bring to Ghana and the entire continent.

    • @awula5385
      @awula5385 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      He didn’t mean any harm. He’s from New York where seeing all these people in one place could spell danger. He’s a newbie with a good heart.

    • @saadiqranks
      @saadiqranks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I appreciate the grace given in this response and I definitely want to echo this. Definitely didn't mean dangerous as in direct harms way, but the pushiness in which we were approached can definitely make people uncomfortable if they are not used to it. Also this entire video is aimed in pushing that positive momentum, hyper-fixating on two words to generalize the video is also limiting and drawing conclusions.

    • @goodallknight7847
      @goodallknight7847 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@saadiqranks - I did not have an intent to generalize your entire video, my Brother. I truly do appreciate your filmmaking. Your presence and study mission in Ghana as a young Black man brings joy to my heart. Please be encouraged. I simply had a visceral reaction to those kinds of comments because they cumulatively have had a lot of power over decades, from many different sources. I’m not asking you to lie; just to understand that the work of correcting false narratives about Ghana (and Africa in general) is very challenging and important.
