The Crew Motorfest closed beta is sadly over and I only managed to play it on the 3rd day due to FPS issues but the 28 player PvP is really fun! Did you enjoy the closed beta? Let me know your thoughts!
This game was so incredibly fun I couldn’t stop playing it! And the fact that this was just the Beta is INSANE! NFS would drop something like this and call it a full game 😅
This beta is better than a full NFS game. The physics in NFS are horrible and it feels like your car is getting whipped around by an invisible string every time you turn. Oh, I'm turning? Which way will my car randomly get yanked in?
Which isn't too hard to achieve when most roads are like 5-10 cars wide and the cars just look like miniature toys on them, to be fair... and it seems to be almost impossible to really spin anyone out, which is a nice thing to have for an arcade racer. 🎉
The 28 player races with collision on sound like absolute horror on paper but the execution turned out better than I thought. Maybe because you can’t spin people out as easily and the checkpoint system isn’t as strict?
This multiplayer is the biggest W I've ever seen. 28 players, solid netcode (espacially for a beta), switching cars, performance parts locked to be equal, solid handling, great map+tracks, bussin music, mean car sounds, it's got it all. Except new wheels and traffic cars. They forgot about these ugly crew 1 remains. The only bad part was that we got baited hard with that OBS Vulkan bug which silently dropped the fps from 60 to 8 in like 2 minutes. And it only has a 30 and 60 fps mode in 2023. bruh
@@bigcut695 On console, maybe. But there are high refresh displays even for console now. I played FH4-5 in 144Hz 288fps locked, and it's a huge difference. It's the difference between a fluid, and a laggy experience. I got a headache after 3 hours in TC1, TC2, and now TC Motorfest from 60fps.
@@hrznn Those hardware advantages end up being pay to win, blocking me from enjoying all games. I've really lost the passion for competing in video games these last few years because of this. It's like playing an FPS with a controller against someone using a keyboard and mouse, just to give a visual example. They should start implementing something about it. I miss the era of consoles where we didn't even play online... yes, it was all local, but they were all 'clean games.' It was an excellent time.
Thats like saying "lock every game at 60fps, no matter the hardware you have." even if it's anecdotal: the 1 commenter already said it causes headaches after a few hours. I have the same problem, so its safe to say that we arent alone in that matter. Locking it to 60 fps with no option to change it, just killed off a sizeable amount of long time players.
You really have to be there to understand just how exhilarating it is to pit your custom whip against 28 different people. I have not had this much online racing fun since Wreckfest or GTA V Los Santos Tuners. Im on summer vacation in a country that doesn't have good wifi, but when I did Grand Races in the Insider Program, it was a BLAST like that race scene from Ready Player One, and it's sad that current modern racing games aren't doing online this well. There's always some catch. My only problem is the 14-player minumum requirement for the event to begin, forcing you to sit in a very boring lobby on a static screen for ages. It definitely pays off, but _I wish there was background matchmaking instead so I can continue cruising while waiting._ I hope Ivory Tower can get that into the final release. If they can tell their voice actors to actually sound like real racing humans and not advertisements, that would be wonderful too. This game's tone-deaf dialogue is the one thing deducting from my enjoyment of it.
no seriously what is up with every open world racer releasing with the most clinically hyper-optimistic _"How do you do fellow kids"_ dialogue ever? It's not even corny, it's just depressing. I'd blame Forza Horizon but I think it also has to do with multiple manufacturers pulling out, like how Toyota doesn't put their licenses in games with police chases.
@@JeremyBXseriously, the dialogue sounds like a bunch of 35+ y/o adults trying to fit with "youngsters" who's age range is 16-25. "You know, I'm something of a child myself"

13:00 to 13:40 made me feel like I was watching transformers....what a brilliant game, Props to the developers on this one cause they nailed it with the crew motorfest
My favorite new feature us choice feature it allow us to choose if want to go with opinion a or b which in my opinion is super cool and open a lot of creative designs for the tracks
I dont had time to understand, but it seems that the tracks are randomly generated, if so, then this is the best thing that has happened to games in recent years..
wow, that was almost a disaster of a race I love disasters in arcade racing games, this looks very fun and even better with that many people per race, i always wanted to play racing games with that amount of players at the same time in a race!
Wow this is such an improvement from Crew 2. Crazy that this is just the beta. 28 racers on one track is insane and it looked smooth. Hopefully this game focus on the replay value and not the Microtransactions
A solution to this would be a damage/health meter. Your car gets destroyed only when YOU bump into somebody, and not when you get bumped by someone. Think would be fair and everyone would start avoiding collision.
Damage would add more to frustration rather than actually discouraging people from ramming, especially when accidental hits are impossible to avoid. Looks at NFS Unbound, the damage to your car is pretty strong and it does bugger all to stop ramming. I think Motorfest does an okay job, there is full contact but the effect on your car is minimal so your race isn't instantly ruined when collisions happen. EDIT: typo
This really reminds me of the Mass Races in Riders Republic, another ubisoft game The race even has "switch gates", just like in RR! But I feel like Motorfest's version of the mass race is more chaotic, since you can collide with people
clean corners and overtake with the lambo on the last race🔥i also didnt get to play since the fps was really bad and i realized deleting obs studio would fix it on the last day anyway 😂😂it is what it is
It felt like Crossplay was on during these races. I can see certain players with spaces in there names, which isn't possible on Ubisoft. Good race though! looking forward to the game when it releases.
Well hot damn the online races seem to be very chaotic but also fun at the same time. After seeing the video I’m probably gonna get it now just to mess around in online lol. 28 players is insane. Does anyone know if there was any other free roam racing game that can have this many players in a online race? Or is this the first game to do so?
Translated by Google: What is making me very happy about PVP is a system that balances all the cars so that the games are fun but fair so that it is pure skill and not because of the car. Forza Horizon 5 has to learn from this because online is totally broken and unbalanced, that there is no balance of cars.
They need to do something about the ramming and crashing... its pretty much just giving people who take corners at full speed or crashing into someone else an advantage. Im sure they'll fix it for the full game
You are wrong about that, races are long enough to come back from unlucky crashes. Also balancing with nitro is activated. Only problem I see is how resets work, needs ghosting so you can see someone respawning.

The slipstream is so strong if you build a lead on someone they shouldn’t just be able to gap you because they are behind you.
Slipstream can be utilized best, when opponent is slower than you. Slipstream usually saves you nitro, but you can't overrun top speed that much! On fast layouts loosing the slipstream can loose you the race though.

Ramming works in Motorfest, but not by going all in, instead you have to sidecheck, which needs quite some skill. For a big lobby like this there are actually not too many rammers, which made it very enjoyable
@@jurinout8665 That's what i implied on my last statement. It exists, but due to the game's more arcadey handling, it is harder to pull off. It is much easier to ram someone off in Forza due to the nature of the physics and handling.
