The Grand Race is The Crew Motorfest's 28 player PvP system where you race across O'ahu with 3 different car classes.
Played with keyboard.
Featuring the Mclaren Senna GTR, Mclaren F1, KTM Xbow-R, Mazda RX-7 FD3S, Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 & Cadillac Escalade Police.

I'm usually not a big fan of "quantity over quality," but Motorfest's multiplayer manages to balance both of them. Having 28 players in races that last for around 5 minutes or more makes some of the most chaotic experiences ever. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, because i might be, but no other racing game has an mp like this.
Gta 5 has a racing multiplayer like this but it's even more chaotic, you'll see cars flying around due to collisions 😭😂

I feel this! The net code is pretty good with so many players at one time, too. Granted, it’s hard to tell since millions of people aren’t playing all at the same time yet 😅
@jaykelz1528 the one thing I'm worried about is if it'll be able to handle this on the last-generation hardware both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One since people that played on those weren't able to test it
And swapping cars every 1/3 of the checkpoints, is also very versatile.
Surprised by the professionalism of the people you raced against! All of my opponents wanted to actually kill me any time I began to pass them 💀

As a former-Forza-who's-more-often-a-NFS-player, I can confirm that this has happened to me too many times in Horizon 5

I was the that guy in the last race. On my screen it showed he passed after I finished. So it was just a difference of ping.

@@nayabouttabag9994 Ohhh, so it’s automatic? For a second I thought you may of gotten to choose your cars before the race or something but it being automatic is really neat! Can’t always use meta cars which is smart
@@jaykelz1528 Everyone gets to choose the car they want in the specified class, but all cars are at a balanced perf level so the only serious differences you get are the weight of the car, and it's acceleration. Otherwise, top speed and grip (unless the latter is affected by weight) are the same across the board. Very balanced experience!
@@tanko-live Word? Well hey, that works too! Would of hated a whole lobby of let’s say Ferrari Enzo’s because nothing else beats it smh So I’m glad they prioritized balancing in races; it’s all about your skill and probably starting position now lol

Nah, the map is a 15 min drive around max (sorta similar like Forza Horizon or NFS map) . If you do this Grand Race for an hour or two, you've seen all of the island a few times. But many of these races use the mountain roads or make you do circles in offroad, so it takes 7-8 min to finish the races and cause of the chaos, you often don't realise you just were racing in circles in the same area. Even the switch between cars is generic, always at 33% and 66%, which often causes mayhem, if you just happen to be in a corner at 33 or 66% :)

Having played Test Drive Unlimited, Oahu is massive. Hope it's similarly detailed.
@@QuickQuips It's a down scale version of Oahu, not exactly 1:1 accurate map design like TDU, but the game map is by far the most detailed in TC series.

They need to make it so there is no contact for the first 30 seconds as half the time you are just rammed off the track at the start.

To be honest, this chaos at the start is quite fun, maybe it would be better to split it for 2 different modes? One with ghost mode at the start and one without it

The physics are so good, extreme change from The Crew 2, now when I see it, it looks slower, but in the good way, in TC2 when u drive, u just flow through everything so so fast, but now it's slower, smoother, better, the feel of speed is at its best, and I'm not talking about drifting where Ubisoft finally proved 🙏, Forza killer
The physics, sound and graphics are all a step down from Forza, look how the cars just float around on the ground, there is no real high end grip simulation happening, just baked in control for every car. Variety in cars and locations is the only thing they’ve done better than Forza. Think for yourself and do your own research dummy.

It was hilarious. I've seen a new perk in the beta. Those in the pilot abilities. It's lesser water impact or something like that.
That's where you use the "Clear Water" affix to lose less speed, but in this beta, not many had those parts around.

I only got to play grand race on the last day cause i was too nervous about my perf level, but once i figured out everyones the same performance level, i got addicted really quick. These two months I have to wait before release are going to be painful

@@stonergee420I totally agree, I played forza horizon 4 but wasn’t really having fun played the crew after and I enjoyed it a lot more looking forward to playing mf next month for the first time as I sadly missed the beta - also love flying the planes 😉😏

these races are more chaotic than Forza Horizon 4 Online before the patch. Sick game though, they have such cool cars in this game compared to The Crew 2

I've seen it done plenty of times on the crew 2 where you boost in small bursts every 2 to 3 seconds

Cause the crew 2's nitro works differently. It's probably the same in motorfest. I couldn't test it well enough.
All The Crew 2 players have this method of using nitro, especially those with high elite, i.e. elite 1000 and above, for example.

Well, finally Ivory Tower did a multiplayer that makes sense. TC2 required an always-on internet but all you could do in terms of interacting with people was in the open world and MAYBE joining a crew of up to 4 players, which would allow you to race alongside friends (which I never did bc none of my friends had the game), so now, to actually get into a lobby and actually race against other players is a whole different level, one that actually makes sense to play online and require constant connection.

They really stepped up from TC2's soundtrack, great music
Grand race is really fun, win or lose. The devs need to fix the random racing lines that have you breaking when you don’t need too or the ones that do random loops or go into a forest despite the race being on a highway for example. Also the car switching sometimes is instantaneous and other times it takes a few seconds for your car to appear so you don’t really have a sense of direction in that moment which can sometimes makes you crash into something or get way off track

Noooo ghosting is trash if your so triggered by contact go and winning so much go play gran turismo half the fun is racing with contact racing against ghosts just feels like AI

See forza and nfs this is what an arcade racer should be fun balanced use any car you want and still compete and have fun instead of having overpowered cars into the game to the point where you win every race that isn’t fun and even with their are meta cars in the crew it’s still balanced to compete in some way take notes playground and criterion 🤦🏻♂️
Playground Games still hasn't learned. Criterion, on the other hand, has been working towards that in Unbound recently.

Hey GrandmaDriving, how does it feel to maneuver in this game? Light, Medium or Heavy unlike the previous 2 TCs?
In my own opinion the handling has improved very heavily from the last game. Its a lot more realistic, in a way where you WILL begin to lose control if you hammer it in every turn. Brakes are much more necessary before turns, and depending on the car, any sort of offroad contact will slow you down and cause you to spin out

You can go across the line first and still lose? Maybe it's ping that causes it because you did beat him on that last race. Beat him across the line at least.
How many wins did you get? I managed to snag 4 but i was a consistent top 3 finisher

Looks like AWD cars is the way watching you use the RWD cars the lambo and Bugatti weren’t drifting through the corners as bad and I’d assume if the games mechanics are right should be more stable off road at the point he was spinning out
The sense of speed is lacking a bit, 4:06 RX-7 on 230 mph feels like it's going 230kph

Honestly who cares about having huge multiplayer races like this when the quality of the races, awell as the physics are so bad. I give this game 2 months before everyone stops playing and uploading it lol.

Sounds like you don't know how the boost mechanic works.
It is proportional to the amount in the tank. And that's how you get top 3 consistently.
