I'm usually not a big fan of "quantity over quality," but Motorfest's multiplayer manages to balance both of them. Having 28 players in races that last for around 5 minutes or more makes some of the most chaotic experiences ever. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, because i might be, but no other racing game has an mp like this.
I feel this! The net code is pretty good with so many players at one time, too. Granted, it’s hard to tell since millions of people aren’t playing all at the same time yet 😅

@@jaykelz1528 Everyone gets to choose the car they want in the specified class, but all cars are at a balanced perf level so the only serious differences you get are the weight of the car, and it's acceleration. Otherwise, top speed and grip (unless the latter is affected by weight) are the same across the board. Very balanced experience!

I gotta give it props to TCM’s collision physics. The cars actually have weight. Even ramming someone would take more effort than it does on FH5, so huge props. I couldn’t join these. I’m a first time player. I knew for sure people I’ll be up against would be driving the cars they got from TC2.
there are cars from TC2 that are going to have a big advantage like some Bugattis, but otherwise the cars are pretty much balanced in grand races so you can reach 4th or 3rd without many problems if you're driving correctly, even if you have "shitty" cars compared to the others
The performance levels of the cars are locked at the same level for everyone, so if your entering with a lower level car, it'll be brought up to match, if you're higher than it drops to match. So the races are about finding a car with handling that you enjoy, you'll always be competitive.
plus, not making a mistake or being a drastic victim of an incident is much more valuable to gain positions and time than using cars carried over from TC2, or cars that may be slightly better than others in the discipline
@@shineki1743 - I raced someone driving a Jesko with the Ryūjin A80. I was able to overtake him with ease. Seems like Grand Race has a one-size-fits-all performance balance which is great (not gonna work with really slow cars obviously).
Nah, the map is a 15 min drive around max (sorta similar like Forza Horizon or NFS map) . If you do this Grand Race for an hour or two, you've seen all of the island a few times. But many of these races use the mountain roads or make you do circles in offroad, so it takes 7-8 min to finish the races and cause of the chaos, you often don't realise you just were racing in circles in the same area. Even the switch between cars is generic, always at 33% and 66%, which often causes mayhem, if you just happen to be in a corner at 33 or 66% :)
@@QuickQuips It's a down scale version of Oahu, not exactly 1:1 accurate map design like TDU, but the game map is by far the most detailed in TC series.
To be honest, this chaos at the start is quite fun, maybe it would be better to split it for 2 different modes? One with ghost mode at the start and one without it
The physics are so good, extreme change from The Crew 2, now when I see it, it looks slower, but in the good way, in TC2 when u drive, u just flow through everything so so fast, but now it's slower, smoother, better, the feel of speed is at its best, and I'm not talking about drifting where Ubisoft finally proved 🙏, Forza killer
The physics, sound and graphics are all a step down from Forza, look how the cars just float around on the ground, there is no real high end grip simulation happening, just baked in control for every car. Variety in cars and locations is the only thing they’ve done better than Forza. Think for yourself and do your own research dummy.
these races are more chaotic than Forza Horizon 4 Online before the patch. Sick game though, they have such cool cars in this game compared to The Crew 2
I only got to play grand race on the last day cause i was too nervous about my perf level, but once i figured out everyones the same performance level, i got addicted really quick. These two months I have to wait before release are going to be painful

Well, finally Ivory Tower did a multiplayer that makes sense. TC2 required an always-on internet but all you could do in terms of interacting with people was in the open world and MAYBE joining a crew of up to 4 players, which would allow you to race alongside friends (which I never did bc none of my friends had the game), so now, to actually get into a lobby and actually race against other players is a whole different level, one that actually makes sense to play online and require constant connection.
sick vid man driving is crisp as always , that lobby wasn't ready for you 💪💪, the ending of that first race had me nervous tho lol........that last race i hate when that happens i was so hyped when u passed him and then boom..... 2nd
Yes drifting and maintaining some speed is a thing in this game thank god thankfully its not need for speed brake to drift crap but at least drifting will feel rewarding instead of something that slowed you down so much to the point where it wasn't even viable like in the crew 2
Ah, I see why they added the "Clear Water" affix when watching that second race :) Although I do believe everyone drives with green parts in this (no bonus on parts), so it might not matter that much.
Grand race is really fun, win or lose. The devs need to fix the random racing lines that have you breaking when you don’t need too or the ones that do random loops or go into a forest despite the race being on a highway for example. Also the car switching sometimes is instantaneous and other times it takes a few seconds for your car to appear so you don’t really have a sense of direction in that moment which can sometimes makes you crash into something or get way off track

I hope they add a win leaderboard and pvp rewards for grand race and like going on win streaks I won over 20 times back to back close races with skilled drivers and lost many it’s challenging and fun to play

In my own opinion the handling has improved very heavily from the last game. Its a lot more realistic, in a way where you WILL begin to lose control if you hammer it in every turn. Brakes are much more necessary before turns, and depending on the car, any sort of offroad contact will slow you down and cause you to spin out

It was hilarious. I've seen a new perk in the beta. Those in the pilot abilities. It's lesser water impact or something like that.

Cause the crew 2's nitro works differently. It's probably the same in motorfest. I couldn't test it well enough.
All The Crew 2 players have this method of using nitro, especially those with high elite, i.e. elite 1000 and above, for example.
