And just to let you know,And the Night Ranger's bass guitar player or bassist Jack Blades is also their lead vocalist or lead singer. And also,And the Grand Funk Railroad professional drummer and percussionist Don Brewer is also a lead singer in their group,@mcalleyboy7992!!!
And just to let you know,And you are totally right, totally precise and totally correct when you've mean or meant the original line --- up of Night Ranger " still kicks ass."And you are fortunate that you are former Kelly's Tech,@terrywade8361!!!
@gregpineda8660 a little Fitz Travis for ya. Fitz was the bass player for Montrose on Paper Money, and Warner Bros presents. That's right, I said, Bass. He then played keys for Sammy Hagar musical chairs
Night Ranger ( the 1980's decade's line --- up or band mates or band members ) is/are : the legendary Kelly Keagy --- lead vocals, percussion and drums the gifted Brad Gillis --- Chief lead guitarist, background vocals and rhythm guitar the incredible Jack Blades --- lead vocals, background vocals and bass guitar the great Jeff Watson --- also lead guitar, background vocals and also rhythm guitar the amazing Alan " Fitz " Gerald --- keyboards and background vocals
The first time i heard this song on the radio back in 1983, I went right out to the nearest record shop and bought Dawn Patrol, and the rest is history......
The 3 "star" guitar players (Gillis, Watson, and Blades) got quite a bit of the notoriety for Night Ranger's epic sound through their heyday, but Kelly Keagy on drums/vocals and Alan Fitzgerald on keys-synths-piano-vocals really kept these guys grounded and solidly rocking ! ... Kudos, gents !
These guys never got the respect other bands got. They kicked ass. Watson and Gillis were just as hard hitting as Smith and Murray, and a lot heavier than Clark and Collin.
Amazing live recording of a song from the soundtrack of my teen years. It's a shame that Night Ranger never really got the superstar status they deserved.
Watson & Gillis one of the best guitar duos ever. They blended together so well. Everybody in the band knew where to stand. Even Fitz, stoic and hyper concentrated while everybody else going crazy...A Band with personality. And amazing classic songs from this first inception. From Canada, Peace out!
On this day in 1983 {February 12th} Night Ranger performed "Sing Me Away" on the ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... Eight weeks later "Sing Me Away" would enter the Billboard's Top 100 chart at position #73, and then four weeks later it would peak at #54 {for 2 weeks}, it spent nine weeks on the Top 100... And on the same episode of 'Bandstand', they also performed "Don't Tell Me You Love Me", at the time "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" was at position #46 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, two weeks later it would peak at #40 {for 3 weeks}, and it spent twelve weeks on the Top 100.. Between 1983 and 1988 the San Franciscan band had eleven Top 100 records with two reaching the Top 10; "Sister Christian" peaked at #5 {for 2 weeks} on June 3rd, 1984 and "Sentimental Street" reached #8 {for 2 weeks} on July 21st, 1985...
I remember it well. They were the first band for me that I witnessed long before they got popular. Those early concerts being filmed and played on a regular basis throughout 1983-84 on broadcast television was a treasure to remember for sure. The band’s music was so melodic and full of emotion and very memorable, and they executed it live unlike any other. It was great to be young and witness it back in the early 80’s. The TH-cam time machine brings it back.
I saw them live in concert in 1985 in Dallas Texas. They played for 2 hours and put on a great show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brad Gillis is just an awesome guitarist. Gillis and Jeff Watson are just an awesome guitar duo !!! They both had just good chemistry feeding off each other ! Just a kick butt song !!
Saw them play this live back in the day at Irvine Meadows. The opening riffs just grab you. Amazing tune. Best of the set for me. In the pit and Cheap Trick opened. Great friggin" show. Met Jeff briefly as well. Nice man with really long fingers which he knows how to use. Miss these days but at least I got to experience it.
Let's not forget the Jeff Watson Band in the late 70's/early 80's. Everyone in the neighborhood went ballistic when he signed on with Night Ranger. Well, everyone under 30...
Same year I met them at Manteca Waterslides where I worked. They played a concert there. Have a pic of me and Kelly. He was my fave! Oh where in the hell does tne time go? Wish there was a way to get back home to 1983 when so many of my loved ones were still alive. Sing me away.
There's not a guitarist anywhere from any Era that makes that question relevant. Eddie van halen is and always will be the king. Jeff Watson is great but I assure you that if Eddie hadn't did what he did Jeff wouldn't be doing what he did
I find it amazing when the drummer is the lead singer.
Drummer singing lead is awesome. Takes me back to Don as in Henley.
I loved Night Ranger from the beginning.
Night Ranger terribly underrated
I was Kelly's Tech can't beat the original lineup still kicks ass
You lucky dog.👊🥁🤘

Awesome, I'm in a classic cover rock band. I'm the drummer and like Kelly, I sharevlead vocal duties, we do this song, and I sing it

Saw them in concert TWICE!!! 80's had the Best music!!
Me as well wanted to see them again this month no dice have no money unfortunately. 😢

I want the 80s back!!!
Now this is the classic lineup I dig!!! Brad and Jeff tearing it up! Fitz on keyboards! Damn. I wish this version would reunite.
This is my favorite Night Ranger song. Live or studio, it's fantastic either way!
I think you are right. The official video is so low budget, simplistic and it just works.
Amazing live recording of a song from the soundtrack of my teen years.
It's a shame that Night Ranger never really got the superstar status they deserved.
So Rock and so Melodic! These guys knew a recipe that few could master in such a short period of time. Pure talent out there! Fan since 1984.
You can always tell from live clips if a band is having fun on stage. These guys were clearly totally in the moment.
Oh yea. They were living the dream.
Still perform with the same amount of energy today.
One of The Best Bands Ever
PERIOD
When Dawn Patrol came out i fell in love with Sing Me Away ! Never could get enough of it !! Miss my 80's
You Got That Right!!
I still remember the first time I heard Don't Tell Me You Love Me on the radio. Been a fan every since.
@@fivestring65ify Me Too best music ever
Brad and Jeff....as good a twin guitar attack as any other in rock history. Watson with the 8 finger tapping...DAMN!!!
Watson is insane! And so low key, flies right under that radar
my fave love song back when I was a 14yo kid in 1984..great..great..rock band ever
This drummer definitely has got it down to total perfection...

Watson's sick badass playing and his goldilocks LP is the coolest guitar in rock history. I miss this band so much!
AWESOME song!!!! Hard to believe Jack Blades is 29 yrs old in 1983. He looks like a little kid.
Yea the 80's the good old days how I Miss them.
I saw them live in concert in 1985 in Dallas Texas. They played for 2 hours and put on a great show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite song by them. Love this jam CRANK IT UP LOUD. This song ROCKS
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
So great. Sounds better live than studio. Glad they're still out there!
The best band in the history of rock! 2 Guitarists 2 Singers🤷 enough said.
One of the best live bands, I've ever seen
If there was ever a category for a song that give you goosebumps when you hear the Chorus , this song fits the bill .
Brilliant Writing !
My favorite song of all time!! The last song I heard before I left for army basic training. I sang it to myself as I layed in my bunk at night.
Brad Gillis is just an awesome guitarist.
Gillis and Jeff Watson are just an awesome guitar duo !!! They both had just good chemistry feeding off each other ! Just a kick butt song !!
and Brad filling in for the late Randy Rhoads. Man can you imagine filling into them shoes?. Hats off to Brad
So much fun to watch those guys play.

Saw them play this live back in the day at Irvine Meadows. The opening riffs just grab you. Amazing tune. Best of the set for me. In the pit and Cheap Trick opened. Great friggin" show. Let's not forget the Jeff Watson Band in the late 70's/early 80's. Everyone in the neighborhood went ballistic when he signed on with Night Ranger. Well, everyone under 30...
A lot heavier than as I remember them. Great guitar work.
Same year I met them at Manteca Waterslides where I worked. They played a concert there. Have a pic of me and Kelly. He was my fave! Oh where in the hell does tne time go? Wish there was a way to get back home to 1983 when so many of my loved ones were still alive. Sing me away.

Awesome !!
These guys are Vibin hard ! 🤙
When drummers sing Hit Songs
It's a rarity for 80's hard rock bands. Kelly is a very good singer and musician. NR has a signature sound that's like ear candy.
J.W. used to teach at my first guitar shop lesson/ academy
Love love
Don’t know what you have “ Till it is GONE 😂” 🤷🏼♂️🎶🌎
Great song! Wish I had written it. lol

Too bad Jeff Watson isn't with the band anymore.
Dawn Patrol. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
He’s not just doing a hammer on, he’s hammering it then actually plucking the string up with his fingers. That’s giving the doubling sound. Try it.
80’s🎼🎶❤️😎
He has always been a pretty fair guitar player
Brilliant. Awesome. Phenomenal. Sorry. Pretty fair doesn't fit Watson.
Two words JEFF WATSON!!!!
nightrangertv is this available to purchase?Superb quality.
bannsidereddie...on eBay "Live in Japan 1983"
Cheers Justyce02
NIGHT RANGER SHOULD HAVE BEEN BIGGER THAN MOTLEY CRUE!!!
I think he got his release at 5:21
Anyone tried the Jeff Watson 8 finger technique? I've tried and I still don't have it down.
Eddie Who
he couldnt carry eddie pick
There's not a guitarist anywhere from any Era that makes that question relevant. Eddie van halen is and always will be the king. Jeff Watson is great but I assure you that if Eddie hadn't did what he did Jeff wouldn't be doing what he did
Damn , to a girl I've never seen...
Only talk too ..

Sorry Jeff.. you were great, but Brad blew you off the planet
Too bad they had so many ballads!
