I was expecting to have to program each button on every remote and was trying to pull the hair out of my head, which doesn't exist already from engineering projects lol. But yeah, it's as simple as hit the learn button and press any button on the remote and it sets it up from there. Too easy. Literally.

Hi Paul. When erasing the remote memory, all paired remotes are removed from the gate motor, but can still be paired back to that motor again. Most gate and garage motors in Australia operate off a 433.92mHz frequency but have different internal coding. This means that each motor can be paired individually to remotes.

Hi Rick, Unfortunately, we don't currently have a visor clip remote. You will need to purchase one from another manufacturer. You will also need to purchase an external receiver from that same manufacturer. I have explained in further detail below. With advancements in mobile phone software, 'universal' remotes have become easier to replicate. Naturally this is a security concern, so most manufacturers now use unique coding for their gate/garage motors and remotes. To use a different manufacturers remote on your gate/garage motor, you will need to add an external receiver from the same manufacturer as the remote. For example. To use a Richmond remote on a Merlin motor, you will need to fit a Richmond external receiver. Luckily, the external receivers are generally cheap to purchase and easy to fit. If you have a Richmond gate motor then you will need a genuine remote to be able to operate the motor. Non-genuine remotes generally won't pair or operate correctly as they operate on different coding.

You will need to check with Viper to see if they offer an external receiver, and whether this will allow the remote to be used on a gate/garage motor. The motors can directly pair with 10 remotes or wireless keypads. If an external receiver is fitted, this allows up to 200 remotes or wireless keypads to be paired.

If you are just wanting to enter or exit your gate without using a remote, then you will need to fit a sensor that automatically detects your vehicle and operates the gate. We have a few different options available so it's probably best to give our sales team a call on 1300 474 246 to ask them which is best for your setup.
