  • We got to revisit one of our favourite projects at Houndog Day Care and Dog Minding. While we take pride in all our projects, we love how Leah and Ang make use of this one - it’s a dog fiesta!
    Take a tour with us of our 18-month-old Recreation Pond, we can’t wait to show you what we do.

    It’s great to see you taking on extra TH-cam content, there are many channels that are great that aren’t in your league of expertise.

    Great job
    Love the beach area - especially how wide the entrance is

      Yes, that wide full beach access works great and waited for the perfect project to implement it . I like the beach width taking up a full side of the system and that there is that gradual increase in depth water depth. Works really well and have incorporated this in a few others since. We perfected the beach entry on recreation ponds here in Australia, there is a technique to getting them right so that sand doesn't end up at the deep end over time.

    This is another great feature, thank you !
    Do you mind clarifying the rationale in having both a skimmer and an intake bay (we usually see one or the other). Thank you !

      Hi Philippe, yes ok. Skimmers are excellent for bodies of water up to around 9 meters x 5 meters and then multiples would be needed going bigger. Intakes bays are the perfect compliment to larger systems as they have better draw and holding capacity for floating material etc . I like to add an Aquascape 1000 skimmer to the intake bay to assist in the removal of that material/ easier maintenance in cleaning the intake bay area . I have the skimmer set up to feed circulation jets and place the pump on a timer for interval skimming. The remaining pumps are as per normal intake bay set up. Works well and the clients love it because it's easier than trying to net the material out of the bay. In the first year growing in period there is a lot of floating material that needs to be removed to reduce the nutrient loads that occurs due to break down of organic material left in the system .

    How big is the design, and what amount of boulders were used?

    • @Waterscapesaustralia
      @Waterscapesaustralia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a 14m x 10m lagoon. 94 ton of boulders were initially used and we added 60 ton of river and wetland pebbles of various sizes.
