    • @BlakesBuilds
      @BlakesBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I finagled the chain onto the sprockets. First wrap the chain around the clutch sprocket then pull back the tensioner, then pull the chain partially over the other sprocket. Roll the entire bike forward or backwards to force the chain on. If that doesn't work for some reason, you may be able to find a master link to take off

    • @Zednor9
      @Zednor9 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The way I went about that was to just put the chain on both sprockets before I put the clutch on the engine, which I did before I mounted the engine onto the frame. In other words, I just slid the engine off and onto the clutch that I held with one hand right where it would end up . This way I didn't even have to remove the jackshaft plate from the frame at all.

      Good question, yes it does mount on the original holes. The chain assembly will work as well, but you just have to cut a small part (which I showed in the video) off. The only time an engine will not fit the mounting holes is if you use a much larger or smaller engine. Ex) a Coleman 3hp has different holes because it is smaller. Hope it helped.

I recommend an exhaust pipe as well if you're doing the full stage 1 upgrade and want to be loud as hell- usually $30- 40, depends on pipe. You do not need to mess with the emulsion tube, just CAREFULLY replace the screwed in jet with the jetted one. Then, take out the plastic idle screw and gently pry out the black plastic jet and replace just how you found it, make sure the jet is sitting like it was stock! Screw in the idle screw until it touches the throttle piece. You will need to adjust the idle screw for the best idle when you start it up though. It would probably work, but I am very doubtful because there is a chain tensioner there for a reason. I think the chain would have a more likely chance to fall off. @Maxxamus ORourke the easiest way would be to do a stage 1 kit (exhaust, carb jets, air filter). You could also make it go much faster with a different sprocket set up.

    • @BlakesBuilds
      @BlakesBuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Maxxamus ORourke the torque converter is the clutch. If you put that on, then you will just need a chain for the sprockets.

    • @BlakesBuilds
      @BlakesBuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Maxxamus ORourke the chain should be a 40/420 chain if you have the stock back wheel sprocket on. For the torque converter you need to use a 10 tooth sprocket on the jackshaft

    How exactly did you hook up the throttle cable to the carb with the stock linkage?

    • @BlakesBuilds
      @BlakesBuilds  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think I showed it in the video, the engine has two Phillips head screwed between the gas tank and air box, there is a nut to loosen the throttle arm. The throttle arm should be able to move all the way back and go back towards the gas tank when you let go. The metal part (tip) of your throttle cable goes on the first clamp with a Phillips screw holding it. The second Phillips screw holds the cable. Make sure the throttle itself is completely back so you get the most cable as possible and make sure you have a nice fit that isn't too tight or too loose. You might have to play with the tension based on preference. After that you are good to go! I added an extra spring for safety, but you don't have to
