Hi, our towns dentists mainly do bridges with titanium inside and acrylic outer. They don’t offer other materials. Do you think that would be ok? Thank you.
Thank you for sanity! I like your approach and agree with most of your information. Expansion and contraction of metal (amalgam) in my teeth eventually fractured a good number of them. Why am I to believe that metal implants will not do the same to my jaw?
The thermal expansion coefficients of teeth and titanium are almost identical. In other words, as a tooth expands or contracts with hot and cold, a titanium implant expands and contracts at a similar rate. Amalgam is MUCH more sensitive to thermal changes because it has mercury in it. That's why mercury is (was) used in thermometers--it changes very easily with temperature. So amalgam fillings will crack teeth over time if they are large enough because they expand/contract at a much higher rate than a tooth. Titanium doesn't have that issue.
What you say is misleading if not patently inaccurate. Titanium is not all that is in implants. If you are going to be accurate, then lets do so please. Are you allowed to NOT have a plastic prosthetic and just allow the implant to heal? Also, I want the implant zirconuim not titanium. I had materials / bio compatabilty testing done and titanium is a big ‘no no’ for me.
You need to watch Dr Choi's other videos. If you are doing snap on, all 4 of your titanium implants needs to be inserted parallel to each other. After they are inserted, you don't want to snap on anything and allow the gum to heal around and implants. I found out the differences and the reasons for snap-ons to not use any plastic prosthesis is that the snap on implants are shorter and a locator abutment on the top. These shorter implants are more susceptible to move around while your gum/bones are not healed completely, so daily removal, snap on on these implants will mess up the alignment, so yes, you are not supposed to have "provisional prosthetics" for snap on implants. For hybrid implants, yes, you can use temporary plastic prosthesis since they are fixed and won't allowed you to move up down sideways etc.
if you get a chairside temporary on your bottom, the answer is probably yes. what i would recommend is get a digital milled or 3d printed temp on your bottom and you shouldnt see any breakage, provided the surgery and design was done right.
@@northtexasdentalsurgery Question! Can zirconia be secured with the old technology of being cemented on 8 healthy upper implants or will it have to be screwed in. Is it too heavy for cement?
I have the zirconium teeth which are great but the gum materail tends to scratch and chip. I have had to go back serveral times to get the gum materail smoothed out.
Aloha Dr. Choi, with good bone and healthy gums, Which is more expensive, Zirconia or Nanoceramic per Arch? Cost for full upper arch with nanoceramic? Thank You.

I personally like a well done zirconia the best. nano ceramic looks good and for bite but I worry about the longevity sometimes on certain patients. I think zirconia done well looks really good and the longevity is the best. however zirconia can look horrible sometimes if the wrong person makes it
Hello was just wondering if you're still responding the prices you are giving is that with implants or just the bridge Just curious cause I already got my implants was wondering average price of Bridge for zaconia
I asked if I could have zirconia and was told it wasn't needed for me and I would be fine with hybrid PMMA. They said zirconia was a very beautiful product but that it was more brittle so if it failed it would be worse than replacing hybrid PMMA. I was a bit taken aback that they were trying to talk me out of zirconia. Thoughts?
that's bs. I wouldnt mess with a hybrid versus a well done zirconia. I saw a patient recently with a hybrid and she was upset that her tooth broke off. idk why they told you that. and no, zirconia isn't brittle like that unless its poorly made
Hi Jon, another material is nano-ceramics. They're the Goldilocks of materials. I did a lot of research before I made the plunge. The titanium bar is replaced by nano-ceramic which is then "bonded" to the nano-ceramic bridge. These materials most closely replicate the characteristics of bone and teeth in compressive strength. Crystal Ultra and Trilor are the commercial names that I chose for my new and improved smile.
@@johnkutsch5155 Hey John, I'm gonna state the obvious, do your homework. Learn about the materials being used, and why. (IMHO zirconia is too heavy and the least adjustable.) Stay in US. What's the provider's history. Where I started in my quest was not the normal route. I looked for information from "bridge makers", the people who make the bridges. The facility I went to has a lot of experience, and are at the forefront in developments. I chose G4 by Golpa. I've never looked better, seriously. I had a wicked narrow upper palate with an overbite. It took 10 yrs of cleaning toilets to save for them and I have to emphasize that these are my 3rd set of teeth. They're not fake they feel normal and you'd never know even when close.
Soooo, have Zirconium all on 4 , 7 months ago, EXTREME dry mouth, they say I might be allergic to the pink gum stuff- pmma? Going in to the implant place for them to remove uppers for 1/2 hr to see if I salivate. This is the most uncomfortable thing ever. I don’t have an previous problems with this. Dr. Said now one gland in my mouth isn’t working? Your opinion on what could cause this, please respond?! I can’t talk, sing, I eat and my mouth dries up. Dry mouth product don’t work. Desperate. $39000 later.
@@northtexasdentalsurgery at my visit yesterday, they offered to do full zirconia , apparently I have gums made from a composite with a clear over it. They said they will do full zirconia and while I was there with prosthetics out for half he, I salivated. My left cheek gland wasn’t working and they said the upper back corner of teeth were in the way, so they will bring that in, and in a month I will go back and try the new. They asked me to do a blood panel to see if I have issues, like Shogrens, but there are no sores, etc. and I have had a healthy body. Dry mouth is the worst thing I could ever experience, and am praying for a relief. Thank u for your response, I will let u know.😊🙏🏻
20-30k for the teeth. Not including surgery & pulling old teeth etc more like 50k just to be honest. Just got my consultation done for zirconium teeth top & bottom. Surgery in 2 months can’t wait to get my new teeth. Only thing is it’s basically a new car payment for the next 8 years. But I have faith they will last even after paid off.
I was quoted $30000 for an all on 4-6 upper with zygomatic, plerygoid, trans nasal implants including zirconia final prosthesis and two lower jaw implants. Do you think it’s reasonable?
That is a great price. I'm basing my opinion on all the recent research I've been doing trying to get this procedure done myself. I'm in Tampa, Florida.
Yes that is a great price. Just paid $48k for 30 extractions, 5 upper/5 lower screws. Custom ceramic zirconia upper and lower. Clearchoice. My price did not include the zygomatic implants, which might be more sturdy than what I have currently. Of course, I did not know about the possibility of zygomatic implants until after I completed my surgery.
I've had everything done. Getting my final prosthesis on 6-28-22. I don't think they are gonna be zirconium. Now I'm anxious about potential problems. I was told that the best one could be added later so he went ahead and did a better implant so I could eventually go up in material. Is your price for both top and bottom or just lower or upper?
So does mine. I have asked at just about every visit. “The bridges are Zirconium, right?” And her response is always, “ Yes, they are Zirconium Porcelain.” I’ve been researching on line if there is a difference and she and I are not exactly on the same page. For financial reasons I am doing 3 on 6 in steps. Each section at a time. I’m at the point of waiting for implants and bone grafting to heal on top with no temporary prosthesis, then when healed I world get permanent prosthesis and top will be done. The time line to complete whole upper will be about 18 months. I’m just concerned that her verbiage may be not what I think I’m getting. Please tell me they are one and the same.
Hello- I am thoroughly confused.. :( noone really explains the types of material the same-- I have heard of ceramic, zirconia, porcelain, nanoceramic, acrylic- and I have heard all on 4s also called hybrid so i am not understanding. my brain hurts ! PLEASE explain why there are so many different materials.. is Zirconia the same as ceramic/porcelain etc?? HELP!
I've been doing a lot of research myself, as I'm planning to get this procedure, and what I've learned is the more the merrier - that's if your jaw can take it. The idea is if one ever fails you're not stuck with 3. Age can also play a factor. Someone young, in theory, has many years left, which equates to many meals, lots of grinding, ect... Food for thought. Good luck!
How they can have all on four, three on six but not half on two? If they can place a third of your mouth on two why not half. Patient who needs total replacement can heal after half is removed. Then go back and do the other half.
So six months ago I decided because of alot of problems with my upper teeth I was going to get them all pulled and get a denture. I did some research and because of the cost settled on a snap in denture. Having worn a denture for 6 months I've learned that the Pallet really bothers me but my dss prefers to leave alot of Pallet for support and suggested I look at a permanent full arch prosthetic. I've tried getting a price quote for it but nobody will give me one. So anybody, if everything is good with my bone graphs and implants, how much would a zirconium upper arch cost installed?
Im am getting full upper and lower X in all. I was quoted 30,000 per arch in the states and will have it done in the Dominican Republic for 16,000.I know many who have gone and had stellar results!
I got a question. Do they make zirconia with a titanium bar. My dentist said that. I'm thinking they're trying the bait and switch me .. i.paid 16k a arch. I've always heard zirconia is monolithic. So with a bar raised red flags
Is that plain zirconia, or have they finally developed translucent zirconia? Also you say it’s better functionality, and aesthetically, but never show a zirconia prosthetic. A video of real life care of the “permanent” arches and how it differs from regular brushing and flossing would be good to see

there is a company in UK called 21d... I was after a price for all on 6 as it is easier for myself than going to turkey... but they have just this minute told me that they only us mmma as zirconium is too rigid and breaks easily and less comfortable when biting ? so I really am confused 😕 after seeing your video I think they might be scamming people who haven't done their homework ?

I don't have any clue what you're talking about when you mention several times about an acrylic tooth breaking off. How is that even possible when the denture is 1 solid piece? It's not individual teeth glued to a titanium bar is it? I thought the bar was baked into the acrylic as 1 completely solid piece.

I have been watching your vids for a bit now and others because I need all on 4, hopefully I'm a candidate I don't see why I wouldn't be but never the less I'm trying to educate myself on this topic. I'm 42 and when I was 25 my front 5 teeth were broke off playing hockey and a few years after that a dentist had told me I needed all my teeth pulled after going to him for an infection. That scared me so much I haven't been to a dentist since plus money was always an issue along with generalized anxiety so you can imagine my situation I don't have many left. I haven't smiled since I was 25 and I have had so many infections it's just a horrible situation I wish upon no one. I would give anything to have this procedure done except money is kind of an issue for me and will take a while to save up that said I don't even know what it will cost I'm depressed just thinking about it.
What happens if you have zirconia permanant on top and then do you bottom a couple years later. Will the ziconia break your temps on the bottom?
if you get a chairside temporary on your bottom, the answer is probably yes. what i would recommend is get a digital milled or 3d printed temp on your bottom and you shouldnt see any breakage, provided the surgery and design was done right.
@@northtexasdentalsurgery Question! Can zirconia be secured with the old technology of being cemented on 8 healthy upper implants or will it have to be screwed in. Is it too heavy for cement?
Im having my procedure done in Miami Americas First Dental Implant Center - They only do Zirconia. $15k per arch. Pull them up and take a look!
I have the zirconium teeth which are great but the gum materail tends to scratch and chip. I have had to go back serveral times to get the gum materail smoothed out.
What does full mouth restoration start at, at your office? Thanks in advance!
Aloha Dr. Choi, with good bone and healthy gums, Which is more expensive, Zirconia or Nanoceramic per Arch? Cost for full upper arch with nanoceramic? Thank You.
I just went and got all on 4 at the top I was told that I couldn’t get zicornia if I didn’t get it upped and lower when they offer the zicornia but they didn’t mention I have to do both is this true can I just get only my upper done with zicornia or will it break my bottom teeth
hello Dr Choi,
is the NanoCeramic prosthesis just as good as Zirconia for all around bite chew and looks?
I personally like a well done zirconia the best. nano ceramic looks good and for bite but I worry about the longevity sometimes on certain patients. I think zirconia done well looks really good and the longevity is the best. however zirconia can look horrible sometimes if the wrong person makes it
Do you have anyone in the Chicago subs that you can recommend.
@@dougd2723 i have a full lower arch that was acrylic on cobalt. dds pushing full zirconia. can you post the options you used?

Desperate. $39000 later.
that's a good question. I have no idea. but if it is a zirconia prosthesis, the gums and teeth are made of the same material. let me know what happens

I was quoted $60K for top and bottom zirconia arches not including 18 extractions, here in San Jose in 2022.
@bstallday: how did it go?
@SeeYouEnTee666 Where in Bulgaria are you going to have this done?
$50K for mine. Upper and lower.
@@AllkyWhat Clear Choice did you go to? Clear Choice in Indiana told me they wouldn't do ceramic.
My dentist is talking about a porcelain prosthesis. What is that?
Did you ever find the answer to this? I was wondering the same thing because I asked my doctor for zaconia. But he keeps mentioning Porcelain
If zirconia is on top do you have same on bottom?

PLEASE explain why there are so many different materials.. is Zirconia the same as ceramic/porcelain etc?? HELP!
yes zirconia is a ceramic
If i was to get the procedure done in Texas can any dentist or prosthodontist perform the maintenance in New York?
pretty much anybody with any familiarity to maintenance can do it anywhere. sorry for late reply
Do you recommend the All on 6 over the All on 4?
I've been doing a lot of research myself, as I'm planning to get this procedure, and what I've learned is the more the merrier - that's if your jaw can take it. The idea is if one ever fails you're not stuck with 3. Age can also play a factor. Someone young, in theory, has many years left, which equates to many meals, lots of grinding, ect... Food for thought. Good luck!
How they can have all on four, three on six but not half on two? If they can place a third of your mouth on two why not half. Patient who needs total replacement can heal after half is removed. Then go back and do the other half.
I did work on dental lab in France 🇫🇷... it’s interesting composites but very nasty and stinky... how is made the dental 🦷
That material is fine for a temporary fix, but it actually collects bacteria and is not good for long term oral health.
I appreciate the honest info. It's valuable but the moral of the story is the same: poor people will suffer
So with a bar raised red flags
they actually do. they have it instead of tibase. its more expensive
$20-30k each (upper + lower) = 40-60k or $20-30k total both upper and lower?
Zirconia price $30K, am I correct? Is this the price for both arches or one?
Is that plain zirconia, or have they finally developed translucent zirconia?
Also you say it’s better functionality, and aesthetically, but never show a zirconia prosthetic.
A video of real life care of the “permanent” arches and how it differs from regular brushing and flossing would be good to see
monolithic zirconia. layered zirconia can chip. not a good idea

I don't have any clue what you're talking about when you mention several times about an acrylic tooth breaking off. How is that even possible when the denture is 1 solid piece? It's not individual teeth glued to a titanium bar is it? I thought the bar was baked into the acrylic as 1 completely solid piece.
Yes, but they're weak at the edges where they thin out to look like teeth. They'll break there.

That scared me so much I haven't been to a dentist since plus money was always an issue along with generalized anxiety so you can imagine my situation I don't have many left. I would give anything to have this procedure done except money is kind of an issue for me and will take a while to save up that said I don't even know what it will cost I'm depressed just thinking about it. I have come to the conclusion I want zirconia instead of spending more money in the future to keep replacing things I think that's the smarter decision and I would definitely make the trip from Buffalo to your practice.
