The Chosen takes you to hell

  • We lead you to the bad place this week-but for a very good reason. In Dallas’ words, “Just like Jesus was born in a stable instead of a palace, he also established his church, not in a synagogue or temple, but at one of the most disgusting and sinful places in the world: the Gates of Hell.”
In this recap, you’ll get a preview of how we replicated this real location to reenact one of the most consequential moments in history.

The CHOSEN brings me closer to the Lord. I was drifting away, he seemed distant even though I attend church, but watching this portrayal of apostles and Jesus has touched me so much. But what makes Jesus more real to me is watching Dallas Jenkins. When he talks I feel the Holy Spirit. I'm never going to let him go again. Thank you crew.

Now where in the NT starting with Acts 2, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit does it say He established His church on "at this location" ??
      1Cor 3:9
For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.
vs 11. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
      1Cor 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Jesus established his Church in Jerusalem at Pentecost.(?)
"And while staying with them he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me, for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit." (Acts 1: 4-5)

@@JeanRausisNo human being will for all of eternity be the Rock. It's only the Cathl believers who interprate the words of Jesus in Matt 16 with the carnal mind. God is Spirit and so is His word.
Matth 16:13-20 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, 'Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? So they said,' Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets'. He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?'
16.Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God'.
17.Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18.And I also say to you that you are Peter, and ON THIS ROCK I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven'. Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
Jesus did not say to Peter that hé is the Rock, but that the Rock is revelation knowledge. On thís knowledge He will build His church.. us! (not a physical building).
2Cor 6:16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: 'I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people'.

      @eekay5710 ปีที่แล้ว

Both heaven and hell are not a geographical place, but a state of mind.
Although the word "hell" appears in the Bible, it only was brought in during the time churches decided to have more control over people (fear;💰). That was the perception of many in those day, but the word 'hell' is definitely translated wrong.
The most common words that are used, are the Hebrew word Sheol & the Greek word Gehenna, Tartaro & Hades. Sometimes Abussos are also used as ref to 'hell'.
SHEOL - this word is mostly used in the OT where 'hell' could be interpretated, but it is only refers to the 'place' where everybody who dies, go. Temporary, only where the bodies were put in 'rest', nót a place of eternal punishment of any negative scare thought. We can also call this place the grave.
People of faith in the Old Test like king David (Ps 49:16 and 88:4), Jacob/Israel (Gen 37:35) and Hiskia (Jes 38:10) knew they were going to this 'place of rest', the grave). Súrely these 3 men never would ended up in the so-called' hell' as we have it in our thoughts!
HADES simply means 'not to see'. Spiritual blindness. Jesus in John 9 to the Pharisees & the man born blind.

      @@eekay5710😂😂
      Haha,
Even for the Greek philosophers, Hades was a REAL place.
      See Plato:
I wish to examine how Iamblichus saw Plato answering these questions. Our investigation will take us from Plato's dialogues to Jamblichus De Anima and Proclus' Republic commentary, as well as to some other texts. I hope to show that lamblichus lies behind Proclus striking interpretation of Plato's explanations about the afterlife.
      Five Dialogues of Plato
Let us begin with Plato. There are five major eschatological explanations.
In the Platonic corpus: Gorgias 523a-526d, Phaedo 113d-114c, Republic 614b-621b (the Myth of Er), Phaedrus 248c-249d, and Laws 904c-905c.
In them, PLATO explains death as the separation of soul from body and discusses the removal of the soul to another PLACE where it is judged. If the soul has led a good (especialy philosophical) life, it gains an Eternal reward. If not, it undergoes some sort of punishment under the earth and is thereby purified.
First, where does the soul journey to undergo judgment? Second, who or what does the actual judging?
In the Gorgias, Plato writes that in the age of Kronos, human beings were judged on the Earth while they were still alive. This procedure led to improper judgments, since the human judges were misled by the clothing those being judged (523al-cl). To remedy this situation, Plato says, ZEUS ordered that judgment occur AFTER death by judges who were also dead. Thus, the judges would look directly at the deceased's soul and NOT be swayed by bodily adornments (523c1-524a7).
Zeus appointed three judges: Rhadamanthys to judge the souls of those from Asia, Aeacus to judge those from Europe, and Minos to judge cases that perplex either of the two former judges (523e6-524a7). These three will judge the dead "in the meadow at the crossroads" .
The PHAEDO states that at death the soul's personal daemon leads it “into a certain place (eiç ôń tiva tómOv) where the gathered souls must be judged," after which the souls proceed to HADES. (107d5-el; cf. 113dl There is no mention either of who the judges are or where precisely the judgment takes place, but a little later (108a4), Plato mentions that the road to HADES "has many branches and crossroads" (oyiceLc te Kai tpLóðovg TOrAáG ěYELV). It is clear, however, that the souls are led someplace for judgment first and then afterwards are led on either to HADES for punishment or above the Earth for its reward.

Christians have been so unbelievably cruel and awful to me for so long. I could never understand why anyone would want to follow Jesus if his followers were so nasty and mean. But I watched Chosen when it first came out (don't remember why?) and it made me realize that Jesus is love. Is truth. And is nothing like how so so many his followers are. When my husband died I will never forget how cruel Christians were to me and tried to drive me to suicide. But this show allowed me to look past this and look instead only at Jesus who saved my life. What a gift this show has been to me. Thank you Chosen! Without this show I don't know if I would have ever found Him.
