Me and my dad just bought 2 acend 12 ft kayaks and we are ont the way to try them out. Thanks for inspiring us to get some yaks and get out on the water.
Enjoy guys! Me and my buddy got a pair last year because of ndyak. We've had so much fun! We got the big fish 120 kayak. What an amazing boat! Have fun guys!
Getting one soon !!
Good stuff guys!!! I have an old town sportsman canoe with a little trolling motor. I know I know it's not yakin but very similar and just as enjoyable I promise lol. Tight lines boys🤘🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Same here, different yaks, but same reason!
I got a yak as well cause of this channel. Loving it, even in winter time fishing.
No flashy editing. Not dubstep music. No ridiculous thumbnails for click bait. No "hype up special guests". Dudes just out here catching fish in his yak living his best life. I absolutely love it
Continue to believe you are the BEST video fisher around. Quiet, polite,so good at coaxing the slippery ones in. I watch you and feel like I am on the rIver on a warm sunny day. I am glad all this TH-cam stuff has worked so well for you. Anyone who can make such a wonderful, low key thank you as I have seen you do deserves all the best.
It's insane how matt just catches more fish in 1 unedited video than most other fishing TH-cam in their entire video.
This was great. It shows the effort you usually have to go to to catch a big one. I once chased a three pound smallie probably sixty yards up a small creek. Evertime he ran to New cover, I chased him. Finally he went under a undercut in the bank dug out by current. I couldn't see him but I knew he was there! I dropped my jig, similar to yours a d let it drift with the current. Bang!! He took it.....that's satisfaction!
That’s always awesome when you can hunt down a specific fish in shallow water like that and get it to bite!
@@ndyakangler one I've always remembered even tho that was years ago. You'd have just been a wee lad!ha I walked him down from the bank. He could see me as easy as I could see him. He only bit when he was under the bank. A place called Craig's creek in Virginia. Caught my largest smallie from that creek. Just under 6pds. Hardly has a bass now. Has more muskies
That sounds awesome bro
@@eduardobotello4059 precious memories!!
@@ndyakangler hey man, where have you been? I hope you are well!!
Been watching these for awhile now. I'm almost 50 and didn't figure out I loved fishing till my 8 year old did a few years back. Learning this stuff mid life (and then trying to teach it!) is a challenge and I've watched a lot of how to vids. I've learned so much more from you than everyone else combined, despite how much more they chatter on and on. Really appreciate your effort and ethic. Can't wait for the next one!
Just learn to tie the knots and you're good to go
This is just sooo therapeutic to watch. And it just seems like every single smallmouth you throw at eats! Doesn’t hurt they’re by far my favorite pound for pound.
I feel like they fight harder pound for pound than most other fish as well.
They are stout little buggers! We have white bass near me in Utah lake they fight harder than rainbow trout twice their size!
Small mouth bass are great fighting fish, I love em. But I'd say the hardest freshwater fighting fish that fights pound-for-pound is the hyrbid white bass (wipers).
Guys like you inspire the rest of us to get up and get at it. Thanks.
My Saturday morning just got better!
Matt, thank you for another fishing adventure - less than 1 thousand subscribers until the big 1/4 million mark. Won’t be too long until we are saying the same about 1 million subscribers. You definitely have the best fishing channel on TH-cam
Thank you for the hard work you put into these videos Matt. We appreciate it!
Hello from CT. Recently discovered your channel. Have fished all over New England for brook trout to bluefish. Nothing better than fishing for smallies. Thanks for the footage.
Perfect remedy for a snowy morning. Thanks for taking us along.
Another great video by the smallie whisperer. Thx for being such a great pro and ambassador for our sport!
The small mouth bass in this river 👌 just can't resist your crawlfish lure, another awesome video, your definitely blessed to have the kind of job for a living, I would trade you any day of the week.
13:45 when all those suckers chased it was awesome 👏🏻
I couldn’t see them, were they visible somewhere?
Congratulations on the 250K subscribers man! We love and look forward to all your videos. It would be awesome to maybe have a 250k subs milestone video special or something! Would be cool if you did a challenge like catching bass (or a fish) on certain lures on a list and only moving to the next one until you do and seeing how far you go and maybe we can vote on said list!
Summer throw back ! Thanks sir. 😄
Wow that place looks like it’s straight from a Bob Ross painting…beautiful scenery…awesome content again 👍
Yep...that be MinnEsoda or North Dakota. Lived in both states most of my life. Loved it, both winter and summer.
If it wasn’t for that dang highway noise it would be perfect out there! I find some muskie roaming that stretch too so it’s a fun spot to go out in the kayak and see what’s swimming around!
@@ndyakangler Sight and top water fishing is the best. And that my friends is what makes Smallie fishing so great.
That is just beautiful water you fish. Picture perfect smallmouth water. Good stuff! Nice to be able to see the fish as you see them.
Yes sir! It’s definitely craw season 😎🤙🏽
This was a blast to watch! I can't imagine how fun it was to actually be there
I can't get enough, greatest fishing videos going.
Great fun to watch, as usual. Thanks for making my evening!
Thanks for linking everything in the descriptions🙏🏾 Appreciate your videos!
It’s amazing how even we could see all the fish. Such a unique and awesome fishing spot
Beautiful night to be fishing!!!
If you haven't already (which I would be shocked), you need to head up to MN/WI this spring/summer and fish the St Croix river for some of the best smallmouth fishing you've ever experienced. Open invite man, keep up the great content!
Love being able to watch these as soon as they drop!
thanks for posting some green, warm weather. got up tbis morning to see that frosty had thrown up. we're going to be cold this weekend. but warming up mid week.
What an awesome day you had Matt. Another great video as usual.
Cool seeing the fish chase the lure. Amazing that was caught on-camera!
Bro I absolutely love watching your videos. Thanx for sharing. Keep em coming.
Smallmouth videos are my favorite.
Thanks for the Nikko Craw tip, been a great addition to my arsenal.
" guess we're gonna have to catch the whole school " lol 😆 🙃 my husband and I are huge fans from the arrowhead of Minnesota. Our playground, the Superior National Forest, doesn't have access to many lakes with such beautiful size smallies. We're forever watching your videos for the sun angle, listening to the highway, guessing if that river is running north 😉....all trying to to find a new spot for our kayaks. But if you're ever in the mood for some rainbow trout.....visit cook county.
Great video! I’ve always big a big fan of yours. Hope the rest of your spring is filled with many, many fish.
Thanks Matt for another great video. I just picked up some crayfish plastic today. Hoping it will be the ticket on the Mississippi next week.
I just found your channel.
I never liked fishing but this is so relaxing, damn great video
Same I just discovered him 2 days ago and he is Relaxing
You’re the Bob Ross of fishing. Much appreciated
Super video brother. We've probably all shared some days where the bass were chasing and following topwater but wouldn't take it. Even while wading I have a craw tied on as my follow up bait. The belt rod holster helps, just Wyatt Earp that and pitch a craw back at them. Your sight fishing was tenacious and priceless too. I can't tell you how many times we've said that spot looks fishy and should hold some then pitch a craw in and !BAM!! Appreciate this today Matt. Snow on the truck again and 34 in IL.
I really look forward to your uploads man. Quality fishing content!
Favorite Fishin YT out there! Love watching your videos man!
I've been watching you fish for years and idk what id do without your Channel in my life
That might be the best smally fishery anywhere.
Very nice smallies. always fun catching the red eyes.
Looking forward to seeing more videos from you!
Just went out to my favorite lake today to see That it's almost completely ice free. Up here in frigid northern MN water has not been cooperating.
Going to be ice free right in time for fish opener.
You are one of a Hecht of an angler sir!! Great content
Brian in SC
So relaxing watching you fish, thanks.
Best videos out there. Just him and the fish, keep em coming
Man that was some patience and it paid off! Nice job on that big one. Can't wait until we can all get back onto bites like that this year! I'm dying to get back out on the kayak!
15:22 just a stunning smallie.
Woo when that small school chased the splash, that gets the blood moving for sure.
Bro you do an excellent job in all of your videos your footage is always clear and full of strikes and blowups not to mention your respect to wildlife and the fish you catch always looking forward to your videos tight lines havnt even finished this one yet and i know im gunna love it!👊👍🎣
Such a fun way to catch fish. Great video!
Watching that first big one chase that craw around before you finally connected was great!
That craw has become a huge confidence bait for me this past year. I rig it with a Z-Man BulletZ and have had a lot less snags than the regular Ned jig.
Great smallie action as always!
I’m having a hard time finding them for sale, where do you buy yours?
Hammering 🔨 🔨 the smallmouth man!! Wow
NDYak you rock! That was some nice smallmouth action! Love the channel and content! I'm here for the algorithm! Peace
Big congrats on reaching a quarter million subscribers.
Those little ones you're getting dwarf my PB smallie! LOL
Great video man. I like your style. You're not crazy with too much loudness. Nice and calm. Just what my doctor prescribes.
Went out in WI today after finding this channel. Thanks for the inspiration for sure. Im Sunburn roasted. A great day.
that water was shallow everywhere you went..
good thing it was moving water eh🤓 ...
that outtro was smooooooth as silk could get bruh..
great stuff as always 😎👍
Itching for the next video. It's that time of year baby
Many could only hope for a day on the water like that. 👍
Such an awesome day, I think I need to try out some river fishing this year. Great vid!
Love it! I’m getting close to dropping in my kayak. Waiting for things to warm up a bit more
Keep doing great videos. I watch every one
Snowing and 20° here but enjoying the fishing skills and success...👍
Your vids never get old brother 🤘
That's a great river! Nice video!!
Beautiful scenery 👌
It's hard for me to see signs of Spring living in the city so watching your vids keeps me updated. And jealous. ✌️
This is old footage, it’s not quite lush and green here yet this spring.
@@ndyakangler Love your videos. Would you recommend your kayak for a 6'3 guy?
I have one on Craigslist in my area.
Another great video. I'm learning so much as I'm new to fishing and kayaking. Picked up a used feel free lure 10ft kayak late fall. Can't wait to get out on the water. Tight lines.
-Daryl Quakertown, PA
Lakes are almost thawed and it’s getting close to salmon season here in Alaska. Every time I see one of your videos I get the itch to fish.
Man I can’t wait to get out on the water bro!! You caught some beauties. Always awesome vids bro keep them coming 👍👍🐟🐟
Thanks for the show
Thank you for sharing be healthy be safe be free. Longevity of Bates Niko can take it. 🤙💪
Still frozen here upstate NY 😒, cant wait to hit the kayak again !
Beautiful river! Great video!
Top shelf vid. Keep up the great work
love Nikko baits, i like the hellgrammite for fishing creeks
When ever you upload it instantly makes my day
Thank you keep up the good work
Some absolute UNITS as usual, I've thrown eclipse a few times, but I love the galaxy craw!
Made my day. Thank you for another good one.
Another awesome video well done some really nice fish
Awesome video 👍I'm from Wisconsin..Every spring for a week I have a river I go to & a spot I call the "Honey Hole" It has rocks, stumps, & a drop off from 2' -10' Lots of 12-14" Smallies..But for every 4-5 smaller ones you get a 16-18" it's really fun for me & my 12 yr old son..Last year was one of the best we cought around 10 fish a day each..The biggest was 22" 5lb 13oz. Always catch & release for the next generation ♥️🎣✔️
Some fisheries benefit from catch and keep though
@@chubbrock659 Yes depending on the species & location..
So glad there are channels like this. Tired of "bro fisherman" with all the yelling and drama. Thank you
What a beautiful day on the water!
Normally seeing these videos makes me go buy the lure being used (even though I never seem to use them), but not this time!...I already HAVE some Niko crawls that I never use!
Seems some lures catch more fishermen than fish
@@markg1490 I agree with you both, but this lure caught me a 4 lber.
@@RojoDelChocolate congrats! That's a nice smally by anyones standards
Break those bad boys out!
@@catfish6138 haha I will! I swear! Honestly, I've never had much luck with soft plastics but it's one of those things I've always wanted to get more proficient with.
One follow up question. I'm wondering if you could recommend some rivers to kayak fish in Minnesota and North Dakota. I'm not asking for you to reveal your secret honey holes, just some productive waterways that would be appropriate for kayak fishing adventures. I'm from Illinois and I'd love some insights for a future trip with a buddy to take my "new" yaks fishing. Thanks. I totally understand if this is a question you aren't comfortable answering on this public forum. Blessings, Steph
Thanks for inspiring me to get a kayak. Mine just got delivered a couple of days ago here in Minnesota
Love the trilene knot
That river is awesome looking. You're so lucky to have something like that around. Here in Pittsburgh, everything is either slow but huge, like our rivers, or smaller, like that river of yours, but faster running. Makes it a bear to navigate.
Another great video!
Absolutely love the content 👍
Straight sniper with the Nikko
I’d love to sit at the top of that first little run and just float fish it with flies or maybe a little micro worm 😊
Another great day on the river. Yessir👌
