They are only amazing if the only games you touched in your life are sonic games. The moves look cool, that doesn't mean there is a lot of depth to the combat or make it fun. It gets old seeing that movie after the first time, you have to make the combat actually good.
the attack combo finishers are direction based:
Forward- Top Kick (high kick)
Backward- Sonic Eagle (axe kick)
Side- Windmill (roundhouse kick)
No Input- Homing Dropkick (couldn't find a sonic battle equivalent)
My favorite is down and up.

Kind of! A lot less rolling thankfully, and more unique moves. I hope the next Smash takes from this game’s move set for Sonic
@@StickmanGuides Yeah, it's more spinning than actually rolling, wich is nice change of pace, since Sonic can actually fight and not just roll, the problem is most mainline games just boil it down to the Spin Attack, Homing Attack, Light Speed Dash, Stomp, Boost and Quick Step, and most of his othe techniques are in spin-offs that most people don't really know about.

My favorite one was the Cross Slash. Sonic, think think about that when Shadow throws a Chaos Spear at you or when Silver throws a Psychic Knife at you.

I'd really like Platinum Games make on the next Sonic game, they would be perfect for it, since they made Bayonetta, also Astral Chain, and Vanquish, and they are also under Sega. Bayonetta also kinda reminded me how Sonic should fight in a game, like how she can slow down time as well after a perfect dodge, making her go super fast, Sonic should have something like that. I'd really like a Sonic game that's more combat focused, but fast-paced combat. Of course, Sonic can still have have the classic fast running sometimes, but that won't the majority of the game. The game needs good pacing, a perfect balance of combat, fast running, and platforming.
Ik this is probably not gonna happen soon but I been saying for the longest platinum games would do Sonics combat so much just I was playing nier automata and tmnt mutants in Manhattan and somehow both styles fit for sonic I agree with @MrKnockNoker first time I’ve seen someone else say this but me

sonics spin slash is actually the light speed attack from sonic adventure 1
I wish he had the lightspeed aura too but all we got is an electrified sonic
Something about this seems so funny to me is when they tell you that you can use the slide yet none of the level design in the game actually motivates you to do that
This is also happening with shadow generations with the biolizard fight only having jumps
i love the sonic boom projectile sonic finally got a projectile dragon ball z style and the cross projectile is my favourite

You forgot the Spindash, which you can unlock by doing all the action challenges and getting S tier ranks for all of them on every Map

How do you move behind or to the side of your opponent in mid air?? I keep doing it by accident but don’t know how I’m doing it

I need help how do you preform a cross slash as super sonic? I try and try but get no luck. Also if any one can or is willing to please tell me the button inputs. I play on xbox
It tells you the button inputs. Open the skill tree and hover over the skill to find out
I don't know what I did but when I use the double slash the homing shot bullets float around sonic in x shape
Maybe the flash could do some moves sonic does well he can’t do spin dash the flash can’t do spin dash maybe the flash can do clyoop maybe the flash can do all those moves we see in the video except spin dash!

I have the explanation at 2:09 in the top left corner and at the bottom of the screen. Press either bumper left or right, then X on Xbox (square on PS), not sure on Switch, but my guess would be Y
