- James O’Brien and LBC’s Political Editor Natasha Clark analyse this week's PMQs as Rishi Sunak faces Sir Keir Starmer.
'Keir went pretty hard on prisons with a side order of knives'
'Of course these criminals shouldn't be released early, but they are…'
'He is a risk to Britain's security'
'Rishi Sunak is a bit like detached shower head, you don't know what direction he's going to spray in next, and the idea of getting washed underneath it is slim'
'The Labour Party is not the same Labour Party as it was in 2020 under Jeremy Corbyn'
'It's a bit of a stretch, isn't it Natasha?'
'The messaging is all over the gaff... it's a completely scattergun approach'
'That laser-like focus on something makes campaigning so much easier, as long as you don't focus on the truth of the claim...'
'Both Party leaders have handcuffed themselves to a bandwagon heading in the opposite directions...'
'I think it was slightly overhyped by them'
'It was an odd exchange in the end because they are all speaking to different audiences'
'It completely destroys his argument'
'Keir Starmer was very tactical'
'It doesn't land'
'The Tories' messaging is completely over the place'
'Mad politics, isn't it?'
'It was a wide open goal'

I just awoke from a coma to find sunak still talking about Corbyn
I liked Corbyn, I don’t remember him wanting to scrap the army ?
And Trident 😂
Scrap trident and fix the NHS and schools instead. Education is far effective as a war deterrent
@musicman Corbyn is irrelevant. Totally agree!
sunak is just a sad little man no were to go and desperate that's why he keeps bringing up Corbyn
The detached shower head analogy of Sunak constantly spouting nonsense was brilliant!! 👍
Kier calling Rishi a “Tech brother” was the highlight for me 😂
Yeah he clearly read the word "bro" on the page and had an immediate allergic reaction, "I'm just not going to say that!" it was pretty funny. Sunak's "steam bro" comeback was pretty well done though, I wonder how long they've had that one planned.
He stepped on his punchline, then got mocked for it, which was cringe. The aide who wrote that for him shouldve explained it to him

Maybe Starmer thought Rishi was a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Honestly no idea how anyone could vote Tory at this point. They've failed in every single way possible.
The problem is they/He reiterate the same lies that have been spouted for 14 years. Mainly about the inherited Economy and THAT letter.
@wayne Certainly more than Starmer is.
I remember having the day off school for Margaret Thatcher's visit as I at around the age of 4 said this to the teacher as I was the only child not throwing their hand up in the air at being excited about her visit...
Q. Why are you not putting your hand up?
A. She took away out milk miss.
And continued to sit, arms folded and an angry look...
Almost 50 years later and it has all continued to go down hill en masse with only odd spikes of tiny benefit as to how this has all been going...
We have not progressed...
It remains the same incoherent muddle and Scattergun Sunak has been instrumental in it in the last 5 years...
Sunak appointed Grant Shapps as Defence Secretary. You can't tell me he's serious about national security after that.
Wasn't Shapps done for using multiple aliases for his dodgy companies?

People don't report crime anymore because the police don't ever turn up or just give you a reference number.
Prove that!
Scotland has significantly lower levels of crime; and significantly higher, successful prosecution levels. Your nonsense assumption would be a reluctance to report crime, despite no evidence to back it up.

Or the police have been told it's not worth investigating.
Perhaps they report it and the police say it isn’t a crime under the new home office guidelines?
If people don't report it, that's up to them and them alone. Nothing to do with the police or the Government.
@petergaskin1811 Or maybe they aren't reporting the crimes because the police have been so defunded and poorly maintained the police don't bother to do anything?
I know people who have experienced serious and horrific offenses, gone straight to the police, kept clothes for dna evidence, multiple testimonies, and more... only for it to be dropped anyway due to lack of resources.
So no, this is EVERYTHING to do with the government and police. Crimes aren't being dealt with unless it happens right in from of the police, so faith in them doing anything is completely gone.

Natasha Clark - Sunak cheerleader. Dear me.
Sunaks argues that giving criminals a longer sentence on one hand, then releasing prisoners earlier on the other hand. Im confused? Or is Sunak confused?
Sunak is running a country/party that is falling apart after 14 years. With no ability to put his hands up and admit it's all his parties fault he is stuck jumping from lie to lie in a vain attempt to fool the public into thinking he's got any sort of hold on the situation
It was just announced many are now free on police bail because the courts have been told to slow down…the prisons are full
@margaret You sound confused too. What's your solution?
Reported crime might be lower, but that doesn't mean people's experience of crime is lower. I haven't reported the last three times my van has been broken into. What's the point? When was the last time you saw a traffic policeman? The standard of driving on motorways is dreadful, particularly since covid. No traffic police, just endless cameras. 2+2 =?
Crime is at its lowest because there isn't enough police to make an arrest, so the crime is not recorded. Therefore, the stats are naturally going to be lower. Actually crime is worse than ever.
