    Most of them here are very much obsessed about the looks. I took a comprehensive test drive of this vehicle for about 15 KMS. It has got the ample power at any RPM. The ride and handling for a ladder on frame design is pretty good. No other machine in this segment is a match for TUV when it comes to power and muscle, thanks to its rear wheel drive. Personally I never bother about looks(Never a fan of Hyundai :P just kidding). I would recommend anyone to take a test ride before commenting. I hope you will definitely feel muscular and powerful with the RWD vehicle from your traditional front wheel drive ones. Happy Motoring :)

      you are absolutely right bro, these people are mad, they dont think once before writing thr comment... i took test drive 3 times, on different roads, my personal experience is excellent i drove duster, ecosports, nd creta too, they r good but not even close if i compare to tuv 300 by any mean...!!!

      i also didnt liked few features ie front bumper n all but these. lots of people commenting hate even dont know difference btwn monocoque chassis n ladder frame chassis. i simply laugh at there ignorance.

      +Rolling Guy #1 I am sorry that I have to use the word ignorance here! Or there might a possibility that you just want to pull an argument(I am not interested in it). However I would like to explain things in a naive and understandable way. Let me start with a classic modern day example of a 3 cylinder engine that is mini cooper it has 1.5 litre 3 cylinder engine and Skoda Yeti also has a 3 cylinder engine. Hopefully you must be knowing the capabilities of these engines. Many might have the misconception that No.of cylinders is proportional to power that is incorrect. You might say that Mini has good power figure. But one should note that power is just a calculated entity its all about torque. Strictly speaking power is just dummy value with out the torque. This is altogether a different topic we can talk about it when you come out of the argument mode :) . Or you might be already knowing this. Many older engines are made of 3 cylinder one of the reasons we just migrated to 4 cylinders are refinement levels. Yes its correct that 3 cylinders make more nice however it can be dampened with latest designs like this TUV used double mass flywheel.
      Infact the 3 cylinder engines are more fuel efficient you must be wondering why? In three cylinder four stroke engines, one engine cycle consists of two rotations while power is delivered from all the cylinders, the crank shaft rotate two times (720 degrees). The timing between the combustion phases of all the three cylinders is 240 degrees. But the combustion phase lasts only for a rotation of 180 degrees only.So for the time period of rotating remaining 60 degrees, power is not delivered by any of the cylinders and during that period the engine is driven purely by the on inertia of motion.
      240 degrees = 180 degree combustion + 60 degree idle
      Lets talk about the power:
      The power output of each piston - cylinder unit is directly proportional to the displacement volume
      That is the height, cross-sectional area of the cylinder and there are many other factors. When any manufacturer says 1.5L engine whether its 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder its volumetric efficiency is the same. So no.Cylinders are never a measure for the power. :)

    people who are abusing exteriors of this car are unable to understand that this looks like army bunkers and I like this design !! It is steel body which is very good for Indian roads !! Mahindra has made something new !! I. mean this is not for style this is for toughness and this type of style make you safe even after accident !! Style can show your attitude but they can not save you !! Power and toughness matters more !! Look Pajero that is also ugly if you compare with those rate cars like fortuner or audi q3 !! My question is Audi q3 can not run more than 80 on rough Indian roads but this TUV 300 can do !! Guys who like power and toughness and want to drive in villages must go for it !!

    I have test driven this vehicle. guys trust me.. its not Dat ugly or bad as u see in the pictures.. its far better in real. this vehicle is meant for boys with a rugged feel. the quality cannot be compared with duster at all.. its far way better. little bigger alloy wheels and side claddings vil make it a beast. by the way handing is also quite good. body roll is at its minimum or less than minimum. good control over the vehicle. awesome visibility, seats are very comfortable compared to ecosport. 2nd row 3 persons can sit comfortably. evn the 3rd row jump seats r decent. being very frank compared to duster and ecosport its the best in value for money and utility purpose. looks can be really made better with little modification. its for sure far way better Dan duster in build quality.

    I went to the showroom today skeptical of this vehicle. Trust me when I say, the photos DO NOT do this vehicle justice. Yes, it is still a bit awkward when seen in real life but it's actually a lot better than what I thought it would be. The drive is great, clearly tuned for the Urban buyer though, punchy low and mid range.
    Considering it's a sub 4 meter car, it's the only one which gives a real SUV feel, discounting the actually awkward (IMO) Quanto. I was also impressed with the suspension. I would recommend if you are looking for a car, take a test drive of the TUV300. If the looks aren't your thing even then, you will still be impressed by the interiors and how it drives.

    I driven it 300 km on road believe me better than any suv of its class,cheapest diesal 7 seater suv in its class with every facility u want,high seating with full command on road ,easy pickup and great mileage,no doubt equipped with the tough and rugged quality ,3 star on design but 5 star on every other aspect a SUV need ,Being a middle class owner i would surely go for it.

    A very interesting and informative review. Thank you. Mahindra had a (very brief) presence here in the UK car market some years ago, but sadly they disappeared once the EU crash and safety tests became mandatory. Maybe it's time they had another go? Especially since another Indian company (Tata) bought Land Rover.
    The fit and finish seem fine from what I can see of the TUV300 here, but they would have to address the safety and CO2 emissions to get back into the UK. On the plus side however, there would be no need to adjust the right-hand driving set up.
    Aesthetically, something which jump out visually are that the four wheels on the TUV300 look very small for such a tall vehicle? I'm guessing 15 or 16 inches maximum? The other negative for me personally would be the 84bhp output. Granted my 4x4 has quite a powerful engine even by UK standards, but at 502bhp, it's six times more powerful than the TUV300.
    I like the inside styling of the TUV300 and it looks like a very light and airy place to be. With the height though, I'm not sure I'd feel safe going round a bend at much more than 25mph! The TUV300 is even taller than my Range Rover yet it's a whole metre shorter in length.
    I can definitely see some Jeep DNA there somewhere, especially in the front grille. I also suspect that it's more than just coincidence that the new top-of-the-range Jeep Renegade in the UK is called the "Trailhawk". But the closest thing the TUV 300 looks like on the UK market is probably the Suzuki Grand Vitara.
    Thanks again for the great review.

    guys after reading all the comments I just felt that lot of people are worried about the look of this suv. But guys just you don't believe I have test driven it . It's really nice. Though with 84 bhp it was giving nice pickup and also easy to drive. Guys please just don't comment by just seeing the outer look. yes I do agree that look is also important but this is really a strong and good vehicle compared with others in this segment. The most important thing is its price. With all its features offered for 10 lakhs i think it is worth buying it rather than buying a Hyundai or any other cars for that matter.

    The car is pretty good to look at on road. At first it appeared ugly in these videos. Because of its boxy design it splits opinions. The design literally grows on you. It has a very menacing look and a muscular stance. On road it looks like a big car with proper SUV feel. An AWD variant will make it a complete compact SUV.

The ride and handling for a ladder on frame design is pretty good. No other machine in the segment is a match for this TUV when it comes to power, thanks to its RWD. Personally I never bother about looks. I would say anyone to take a test ride before commenting.

    Just replace the Mahindra logo with any Geman ,American company logo and the same guys who are hating here will change their tones totally. And I guarantee that most of them haven't even test driven it yet.
    I found it very good for it's price range and it's quite good in riding in test drive.
    Tell me the good one according to you..Eco sport??...Is that a vehicle?? Suspension goes out when you ride for 40-50 kms on a rough road and starts giving you the sound of the same thing. And for the looks..don't tell me that Eco sport looks better than TUV.
    There may be design flaws as I am not an automobile engineer but the things you are saying here are totally biased as this is Mahindra.
    Duster is definitely good and I own one but that is nowhere near the price range of TUV(Obviously you'll want some extra accessories). Don't even think about Terano or Terrano(I don't remember the spelling so plz forgive me Grammar Nazis ;-)) as that's the ugliest design(plastic quality of interior etc included) I have ever seen from a company like Nissan.
    Ford Ecosport??Again ..please don't compare it with looks of TUV as Eco sport is not a SUV in any case. It just looks like a bigger Ford Figo with more ground clearance.
    So please..Let the things come..give it some time (I have first generation duster and it is completely different from today's Duster---I think u know why I've written this and you are declaring the thing as crap within a week of launch and without even a testdrive..not fair at all) .
    One more thing I woud like to say at the end..go to the car...test drive it...now check the budget of yours ...and the check the features you can not live without...and then decide the car for buying(Actually you can jumble the steps..no hard and fast rules here) .
    Do listen to reviews(as they are experts) but don't go after them blindfolded as at the end of the day you'll be the owner of the car..not the guy giving reviews(He get's a new car daily to ride anyway.....just kiddin). So try not to be what you are not and go like a customer..you'll be happy always...
    Sorry for the toooo looooooooooooong comment guys as I can't see this bashing of Indian companies who are trying hard to be in competition with companies who are doing it from 60 ,70 or 100 years and giving the m competition in India and that too by the guys who just simple users of cars like me and you.
    Thanx a lot for taking a pain of reading this.:-)

      +Manvendra Singh you said it man!!! what those TUV Haters will call Jeep Wrangler, when it will launch in india? boxy design ugly crap? all those hyundai creta & ford eco sport can be called as a cosmetic SUV only. just check the status of those cosmetic super looking toys after driving 1 lakh kms on indian roads..then you will under stand the value of indian made vehicles of Mahindra & TATA. renault duster is another crap which originally designed and produced by romanian company dacia till the company took over by renault in 2010. duster is a failure in middle east due to its poor manufacturing standards. due to just the logo of a french car maker it became a hit in india. and no resale value for renault&ford vehicles in middle east.

      You are wrong. Replacing it with an American brand name, I would still say it's not that good design (I'm not saying that it's bad, but it could've been better)

    • @manvendrasingh7928
      @manvendrasingh7928 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanx Prashu for reading my exhaustive comment buddy. And I have already mentioned the same thing what you are saying:
      "There may be design flaws.."
      I accept that there may be design flaws and I don't work for Mahindra or any Indian or American automobile company;-)
      For the "American" part no one knows what could happen if Mahindra had an "American " Label on it.
      But I was just saying that If you call Duster and Eco sport a good design..then forgive me...I am outta there.
      I have Duster and I don't call it a good design but it's better than Eco sport. Ecosport is definitely not a SUV even in Sub 4 meter.It may be a good car in other terms but I have mentioned what it looks like to me.
      I agree that design could have been better as there is always a scope for improvement when you are producing something new and Mahindra is trying hard for it.
      Scorpio->Scorpio MHAWK->New Scorpio an XUV 500->XUV100(Future) may be taken an example.
      Thanx again.:-)

    • @prashu2410
      @prashu2410 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. I agree what you say. If you understand why people are frustrated then you will know that we, Indians are getting very cheap quality on everything and today's generation has awaken and knows what is better.

    only thing i didnt liked about outer design is the front grill, and front bumper, people who are hating calm down your asses you have got many options, people tagging it boxy yes it is. but thats make design simply. let me remind you too many curves cost you more for production also,, and to customers too.

    yes it is boxy and that's what they meant to make as we heard in news before. i wont say anything bad until you figure out everything about the vehicle such as .. driving,handling,performance etc.. it is not a car not a xuv it is TUV which it has to prove that in future.. there are people who gonna buy it.to be true i like the boxy design and front grill..

    Nah, the looks are all fine for the price it is launched. This car looks better than Swift, outdated design of Tata Sumo and Ritz.
    Competetive price point, good interiors, strong body. If only the car has no technical flaws, this should give the Duster and Ecosport a run for the money!

    Its good SUV for rural people who wants to buy SUV less than 10 lacs. I think people who comments -ive on this car should look for car above 10 lacs. MM is focusing mainly rural people who can only only affordable to buy less than 10 lacs a SUV.

    I was very excited on the launch of TUV 300 as want to buy a compact SUV but on first look I did not find TUV 300 so impressive. It does not look good. I am fine with the interior but not happy with high of wheel and milage. I was expecting that milage of this car would be 20Kmpl. Not sure what would be the actual milage delivered by TUV 300. I will go in show room and try to find if this able to impress me.

  • @avinashpallav3
    @avinashpallav3 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    This SUV was never meant to look more good than this. However, there's still some space for adding some claddings around the base (I hope Mahindra thinks of it in the facelifts to come). For a 4-meter segment this is as proportionate as it could be keeping in mind the cabin space on offer and the 2+3+2 seating layout. We must agree, it's got the best interior design from mahindra and definitely outclasses the Scorpio's.
    The seating layout, pleasant interior and space on offer with much refined mhawk engine are its trump cards. If a word that could put this together will be 'versatile'. Should other SUV makers worry? I think yes given the price point the package being offered. Should Mahindra worry? I think yes, it may cannibalize Scorpio as space on offer are almost equivalent and interiors much better.

  • @btarunr
    @btarunr 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    The third-row jump-seats are useless, and make the whole package look cheap. Instead they should have added a rear parcel-tray with some space-management features like the ones found on the Skoda Yeti.
