@@TEOTIA_HR lol , my cousins hatchback got damaged because there were potholes on the highway .this happened recently . Sedans are unfortunately not very practical, suv type high ground clearence is much more practical.
Fully agree about the drive comfort and seating position. If have done a few trips of about 1000km in one go without any back issues. I had a back operation a few years ago and when driving the work Ranger(2017) or Hilux(2012) I feel discomfort after a 100km, but not in the Scorpio N.
People often speak about the lack of storage space, but no one has ever spoken about how much space you have under the middle row of seats. There is a huge space. In South Africa we only get the normal 7-seater version and not the second row captain’s seats(must say they look great). Under my middle row of seats I can fit a 4-meter Jumper Cable, tow ropes and tie down straps, small fire extinguisher, foldable spade, small First Aid kit, a 1/4” drive socket set, air compressor, black bags for rubbish, toilet paper and a bag that contains a hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, wire, cable ties, larger socket wrench and basic socket sizes, saw, spanners, fire lighters and a lighter. They all fit under the seat. What is also great is that you can fit longer pipes, fishing rods or planks in the boot as they can pass through that space between the floor board and seat. It is very handy.
That sounds like a really useful space! Coming from a Ute you get less space but I still think it works well. I’m sure we’ll get a 7 seat version in Australia soon :)
I had a First gen FL 2.6 Crde SLX in 2008, Bench seats had storage underneath to stow away all the junky looking stuff. It was the most powerful car I had driven at that time but It had issues in build quality, bouncy rear ride and electronic malfunctions on a regular basis.

That was a confidence inspiring video for people thinking of switching from, say, a Prado, but they are not sure how reliable a Mahindra will be. Nicely filmed too. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for this. 18,000km in and just completed a big trip through Botswana. 4x4 worked great through a muddy salt pan and deep sand. Though as a stock vehicle, I find there is not enough ground clearance. I had to avoid many sections due to clearance issues and mods are necessary for most 4x4 track. The 4x4 button has been an issue a few times. The most frustrating part is the auto stop start. I have been stuck at traffic lights after it stops and I 100% did not touch the button (definitely a glitch). The tyre pressure sensors are cool but I suspect they are highly inaccurate. I also really hate the design of the boot/rear. The floor is uneven with the seat bolt areas and makes packing the car difficult. I have also experienced glitches with the cruise control. Overall though, I am still happy with the purchase and feel it was good value. It is great to drive and looks cool. I would still recommend one, but I feel like there are many things they need to solve for to make it compete with the Toyoto equivalents.
Glad to hear it worked well for you in Botswana. You could always try half doing what I did in your boot without the fridge/drawer to fix the floor th-cam.com/video/3KKMfm_WGSM/w-d-xo.html
Man you are the only person knowing the auto start/stop trick. I read about this trick in team bhp forum (infamous Indian car community) mentioning an Australian TH-camr about the same and here I am.
Thank You, Daniel! 🥰 Absolutely loved the content and the top-notch video quality👏📈. The modifications on your Scorpio are just amazing! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber from now on! Looking forward to more awesome stuff from you! Keep it up! 👏🔥
To evaluate Scorpios reliability and built quality you must see the kind of roads we ride them in Nepal and India. Here in Nepal, in our rural Himalayan region you can see Mahindra's cruising through tough road conditions like 100km + off-road uphills roads with river crossing swiftly with 7 people inside and 10-15 kg of luggage on its roof.
Great review, I have had the same issues as yourself especially the tyre wear, I bought mine as a demo which close to 10,000kms on the clock and I didn't notice the tyres till around 14/15,000 and it's an annoying issue, I will have to replace the tyres soonish which is a waste of money. Otherwise, the car has been great.
@@DanielSnare yeh I always get a wheel alignment with new tyres. The only downside is that the Scorpio is not that popular yet so not many accessories around. But great car.

I have the older scorpio from 2009 and i have to say its one of the most reliable cars out there. it has no fancy systems like displays or infotainment systems, pure old diesel. The only fix it ever needed was replacement of clutch plate
Hey Daniel, we are very happy owners of a Scorpio Z 2023 bought in April this year. One thing we are still stumped with is there doesn’t appear to be any indication on the screen or any where in display panels of what the cooling/heating settings are. We just have to hit buttons and turn knobs and try to work out where airflow is coming from etc - hope this makes sense? Even our dealer got the guys in workshop to check out and nothing either? Cheers Sue and Trish
Ah yes, Z8L has a cooling settings page on the screen but Z8 doesn’t. Give your dealer a call but as I think there is a firmware update out that adds that page to the Z8’s
That's a great review. I have the same model in 7 seat configuration and I have almost all the same observations as you. Any issues that this car has have to do with software or electronics. Mechanically it is as good as any out there. In India we get the Adrenox connectivity as well which is very helpful. The pickup concept it showcased in South Africa last year looked promising as well especially for a market like Australia.
Can’t wait to see it! I’m sure it will have all the latest safety tech in it which for some will be good and others another annoying bit of tech telling you off
I faced the same problem with Engine auto start stop function but i guess sometime after you get used to it. One each of a pro and con you missed out is this car's insane comfort level like its the most comfortable car i have ever driven the seats, engine refinement and everything is just perfectely designed for comfort. But this car faces many issues with its technological aspects. Overall this car is a perfect blend of comfort and ruggedness
Well done Daniel. Your vehicle looks amazing. I've also purchased a Scorpio N and am awaiting delivery. Do you perhaps know what the wheel PCD is? Is it 5x139 or 5x139.7?
The software update for the hill hold has been fixed with the latest software update and any issues related to the infotainment system. However, I haven't heard about any updates regarding turning off the start stop system yet. Another flaw I would like to point out, with the stop start system disengaged, if you're at a stop light and use the button to turn off the car, the bloody door unlocks.
How they sort two things 1. We need a flat bay. My 2009 xtrail has a complete flat bay and is very handy to move things or even take ur mountain bike. 2. Need to sort active safety systems to please the crowd. Though to be honest I turn them all off in my mates dmax
You should definitely try Mahindra Thar Roxx you'll love it. Unfortunately it is banned in Australia as Jeep has filed a petition against Mahindra for copying the design of Rubicon.
I purchased one as well and absolutely love it. However, I do have one concern. The car lacks selectable drive modes like Comfort or Sport, and there's no button under the accelerator to manually drop a gear for overtaking. This can make overtaking stressful at times, as the car isn’t the fastest out there. Sometimes it will drop a gear automatically, but other times it won't, which adds to the unpredictability. I have the 4x4 version, and I find it odd that while the 2x4 version includes Zip/Zap/Zop drive modes, the Z8L does not. This I tend to find very strange and annoying but besides that the car is AWESOME. If the hybrid version comes out with a little more juice I promise I will be one of the first in line to buy it.
@DanielSnare ok fair enough! I will give that a try! Best regards and thanks for the videos. I also have the green one. I am going to do a full Chrome delete using plastidip. Should come out looking amazing!
There are 3 scorpio N in my extended family, I took many test drives but i cannot seem to give up my storme varicore 400 for this... somehow the storme is like an addiction that scorpion cannot fulfill ;-)
I own one and drove it 20,000+ km, mechanically it's a great vehicle but i always feel they could've done more on the electronic side and software updates.
When you stop the car it turns off, then you need to press the clutch. You can get used to it. If it is in gear release clutch and slightly accelerate.
Hi everyone, the long-term accessory review is now out if you'd like to watch that next. th-cam.com/video/3TuVpTgYZic/w-d-xo.html

Agreed, luckily software can be fixed with a firmware update.
Yes everyone in Australia is very excited for the Global PikUp
Thanks for the honest review. God bless the beautiful kids and dog and the family. ✨
You are so kind
Yes I'm waiting for the new 2025 N series. I will be purchasing. Thank you for your effort.
Can’t wait to see it! I’m sure it will have all the latest safety tech in it which for some will be good and others another annoying bit of tech telling you off
Feeling awesome😎 Which country is this?😍😍 Great that Indian Auto-Maker could actually impress around the globe..!
Definitely! I’m from Queensland, Australia
@@DanielSnare Glad to hear back..👍. Happy Motoring with Scorpio 🦂...😎💗
Indian beast🇮🇳💯
Thanks ☺️
Nice build 🇮🇳 Love from india
Thanks mate 😊
My dream car😍
Thanks mate! 😊
Thanks, I am considering to get one.
Give it a test drive, see what you think
Awesome Dan. 45k is reassuring for sure
Yes, being a diesel engine it’s got so many more to go
Great setup
Thank you ☺️
Love the mods on your car!
Thanks mate. Had it pictured in my head and glad it all came together
Your client is Matthew Hayden? Keep it up brother.
Yes, love working with that legend! Couldn’t meet a nicer bloke
Love from Scorpio N Plant ❤🎉
👋 love your work! I visited with Grace Hayden back in 2023 but we mainly saw XUV700’s being made
God That looks Gorgeous!!!!
Thanks mate, will have the long term accessory review coming out next week. Make sure you’re subscribed 😊
Hi Daniel, thanks for the review. Just wondering: does it have independent suspension for the rear? Thanks.
No, solid rear end with pentalink suspension
@DanielSnare Thank you!!!
Love from India

Well done Daniel. Your vehicle looks amazing. I've also purchased a Scorpio N and am awaiting delivery. Do you perhaps know what the wheel PCD is? Is it 5x139 or 5x139.7?
Hey mate, thanks and welcome to the family! I’m not to sure on the PCD sorry. I’m visiting Ryebuck this week and will confirm when down there
@DanielSnare thank you Daniel. I appreciate it.
@@insert-name1500Congrats bro. Is it delivered?
@3Areviews yip it was delivered. I'm really enjoying it so far.
Beautiful review
Thank you :)
Yes I think I mentioned it’s already out. Door unlocking doesn’t bother me as as soon as you start moving it locks again
How they sort two things
Yeah shame, would love to test drive one
Can't wait for Mahindra Thar Roxx review in Australia...
Fingers crossed soon
I use the manual gear selection (Tiptronic) to change down a gear when needed.
@DanielSnare ok fair enough! I will give that a try!
Best regards and thanks for the videos.
I also have the green one. I am going to do a full Chrome delete using plastidip. Should come out looking amazing!
Mahindra is doing great job.
Agree! 👍
The thumbnail looking like the Indian flag is a neat touch. I'm surprised not a lot of people have noticed it.
Oh … yes … yes … I totally did that on purpose 😁 I wish I could take credit for it. I just like taking photos at sunset
Every Indian car maker always try to provide more value in less price, 😊
They’re doing well :)
There are 3 scorpio N in my extended family, I took many test drives but i cannot seem to give up my storme varicore 400 for this... somehow the storme is like an addiction that scorpion cannot fulfill ;-)
Wish I new what that was. Maybe it’s not in Australia
Really wish they done the back seats more practical to close in flat 😔 can't fit dog or stuff flat . Wouldve considered buying one.
I own one and drove it 20,000+ km, mechanically it's a great vehicle but i always feel they could've done more on the electronic side and software updates.
Yes agree, luckily they are continually releasing software updates. Dealers however forget to check if there are any
New subscriber. Love from India 🇮🇳
Thank you mate, appreciate you!
Hi Daniel, nice detailed review. Are you facing a battery issue?
No I havnt what’s you’re issue?
@@DanielSnare it got drained multiple times, without any reason..
Awesome car
Thank you ☺️
I am also thinking to upgrade my bumper.. i mean ground Clarence is kinda low compared to fortuner n all
Yes, I’ve seen someone rip off their front bumper in sand due to clearances
Amazing vehicle ❤
Thanks mate!
When you stop the car it turns off, then you need to press the clutch. You can get used to it. If it is in gear release clutch and slightly accelerate.
Hey mate, thanks for the advice. I have an auto however so no clutch. Good advice for our manual drivers out there but :)
Best modified mahindra Scorpio n 😍
Thanks, love driving this thing around
