This was a one way game, the Irish were just too strong. Cheers to you guys, you may have lost sexton, but you still have beautiful days to come. I really do hope the French can change their fate for the rest of the tournament though.
The French are always always dangerous! As an Irishman, I’d never be comfortable going into a match against France. There’s a lot of rugby left to play 🫱🏻🫲🏼
Shut up if we had as many Munster players as we do Leinster players we’d never win anything so don’t act like you don’t celebrate when you see Leinster players scoring. This is why everyone hates Munster supporters, you prioritise your province over your nation like that fool Ronan o gara.
The under-20 game was also brilliant to watch as was Wales and Scotland .Finn Russell is a pure joy to watch and please come back stuart hogg. The six nations is awesome and is now every bit as exciting as tri nations rugby.Nothing at all to do with the fact that we won 😁😁😁 !
The Stuart Hogg boat has sailed away for good I'm afraid. I hope he's enjoying his retirement - he's certainly warned it. While a different kind of player I highly rate Kinghorn and think he's a worthy replacement. It's between him and Keenan for Lions fullback if you ask me. I don't see enough from Steward at the moment
Tadhg Byrnes try, the delayed disguised short pass by Crowley was brilliant. At the time i thought it was just awful defending because i didnt actually see the pass live, i think everyones eyes (including mine) had moved away from Byrne thinking he had overrun and would not receive the ball, also Byrnes inward running angle opened a massive gap outside him where Lowe and Henshaw had looped around and looked like the main attacking threat, that half second pass delay and the widening gap outside forced Danty to take a half step out, Crowleys quick look back to James Lowe, it looked like Byrne had already run ahead of Crowley and the defenders were just shifting their focus across to the second line when the almost sleight-of-hand pass was suddenly in Byrnes hands and he has was galloping free. Worth re-watching the subtle elements of that pass again. That try involved so much more than what i saw live. Kind of sums up Irelands attack, never quite sure where the ball is going, options all over the place and defenders end up slightly out of position, attackers tend to get hit with soft shoulders allowing them to get over the gain line nearly every time.
Willemse said to his teammates before the match 'I'm going to show you how we do it back home in South Africa. We break the Irish players' necks and then we walk all over them". He almost got it right. The only difference is players like Etzebeth & Kolisi don't get red carded.
look at the lead up to the second try for Ireland, France commit three players to one tackle and the ruck. Opens up soo much gaps outside Ireland make it look easy though.
I'm always shocked how these massive players leave the field so calm. No arguing with the ref. 😂 It gets me each time. Football is just really screwed up
Yes its crazy when you see the difference.. the bigger guys are so calm and respectful with blood running down their shirt.. meanwhile the skinny football players bark like little dogs with no respect at all!!!
Aldritt's moaning after Willemse's second yellow is pretty childish - "how are we meant to tackle," "it is impossible to tackle" - As Rassie said recently, safe tackling is possible but players need to own up to it and learn to change their technique instead of looking for excuses
well played the Irish nothing to say your team is just monstrous on our side by cons it’s a disaster our back we were invisible our forwards too just sometimes catastrophic willemse must no longer put back the blue jersey, our invisible hinge, danty and fickou direction the retirement home must bring new and intensity and finally Galthié should perhaps question this because the game of dispossession is outdated in short bravo Ireland and anyway you will make the grand slam so good luck
I think your forwards are too big. It was always seen as a strength, but not against Ireland. Because of their fitness levels they can absorb a huge amount and also have some big players with good hands and skills. South Africa are able to play against Ireland so I feel like it’s a fitness issue. It’s not that France are bad all of a sudden it’s just hard for huge players to play at that intensity for so long. A more mobile pack could work better. Or else they will have to put in serious work. One thing I have noticed is that France break much easier than South Africa. And even though South Africa have huge players they have the heart and determination to stay in the fight when they start to tire and put one hundred percent in for the whole game.
Ireland are still the best team in the world. Lack of rotation cost them big time in the quarter final and they still could have won and been in the final.
2 points. That second yellow seemed quite harsh, Doris dropped very quickly a fraction of a second before the hit. Maybe its a fine card but harsh still. Other point, I *hate* seeing subs on the pitch during scores.
I know what you mean, but Willemse was completely upright. They also upgraded the second yellow to a red so the TMO must have seen something. If a yellow seems harsh, it wouldn‘t get upgraded to a red. Plus, Willemse was lucky to be allowed back on in the first place. His first yellow was a very dark shade of yellow.
@@progression28 ah fair enough then. I did think the first hit was lucky to be a yellow. I think watching the 2nd in real speed, Doris goes from being upright to suddenly dipping, not suggesting that it's significant enough of a dip, but I think it made it look worse than it was likely going to be (without that dip). None of which was any sort of argument against the result, just my ignorant 0.02p on a couple things.
@@galacor never said it wasn't a card, but Willemse body is more upright but his knees are bent, Doris body is more bent but his knees are bent as well... As an Irishman I don’t feel that Willemse deserved a second yellow. A penalty I think was enough for the second high tackle. However the first infraction did I think deserve red so All being equal the right decision was made in the end.
@@lizzyhanahoe4197 if you look again Willemse is upright in the tackle yes but initial contact is not with Doris’s head. I have seen several tackles similar that get ignored. the tackle on Porter was far worse it was direct head contact. @@lizzyhanahoe4197 I’d not go as far as saying his head nearly left his shoulders. The Porter tackle could have left him with serious head or neck injuries it was far worse.
agreed i find it very difficult for the french player to actually do much, the Irish player was tackled from behind and was falling forward , in fact in this case if the french player had STAYED upright, the Irish would have literally head butted his chest or even gone further down and met a knee. But as rugby players are now trying to lower their body as much as possible, he got his shoulder under the player and the irish player in motion went face first into the shoulder. This is a very dynamic game and these collisions are going to keep happening... all in all while the Irish team was the better team the loss of a playr for nearly 50 mins showed...
