    Thank you again for being there ARC! Our beloved Audric is one of the dogs you rescued, and it's hard to believe he has been in our home for almost a year now! I can't imagine why anyone would have abandoned such a wonderful animal, but it's totally our gain!

      It looked like a poor community. That would be my guess why they ended up with so many strays...

    My friend owns the dog they found with the broken leg, He is living a happy lush life in Ontario. He is named Kyo now and he is an amazing boy who shares his home with another husky and a spaniel (both rescues)...Thank you so much for what you did for these animals. The world needs more people like the people who work for ARC

    The "lasting solution" is a change in laws to include pets as 'people'. If the laws give a domestic pet the same rights to a quality of life and love, then those who treat them like property and commodity will think twice before tossing them aside like garbage. If the laws warn that neglecting/abusing a domestic pet will carry with it the stigma of "abuser"/prison time/criminal record, then more people than not will reconsider their ways of treating them.

    This videos always make me feel bad for those poor animals... they also make me feel good because there is some hope for them; and also for the extremly good life i'm giving my two "daughters", my two pug bitches: Diva and Santa. At night when i'm still watching vid on youtube and the lights are out and i hear them snoring deeply asleep and see how safe they feel next to me, it's like nothing elsa! Hope those dogs get great homes!!!!

    It breaks my heart to see so many beautiful dogs with no homes or loving families. I cannot even express how this film has touched my heart! Everyone that was involved in this rescue is an angel on earth! Ever since I was little, my dream was to own a ranch and adopt every dog I could find. Unfortunately, this dream never came to fruition for me, It is happening, slowly but surely, in stories like this. I pray for the day shelters and killing innocent dogs are a thing of the past! THANKS!!

    thanks to these animals rescuers! This Native community tried so many times and on so many levels to get help for these dogs, but Some other issues in this community, poverty, lack of health systems..made their goal harder to help these dogs....I am glad that the chief House...Mister Babin called Animal rescue Corp.....He made a great choice by calling them ....cause anyone else(autorithy) didn't care for them or the animals

    Wondering how so many dogs that look purebred got there? Hopefully folks will realize that they need to make sure that they can afford the dog before getting them. That is what I do, I know my limits. When you get a dog it is another life, created by God and you then become responsible. Bless these folks for helping.

  • @heelscommando
    @heelscommando 11 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    heya :-) It meant they spayed and neutered the dogs the community people owned. Not the strays, which were going with ARC. I think it was to stop the indiscriminate breeding of them and the problem happening again. :-)

  • @BigWesLawns
    @BigWesLawns 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    that's good information you should try to spread that news around. I have never heard that, because news of the north doesn't travel south. I know next to nothing about life up north, and I assume I'm not alone in this lack of access.

    Oh my gosh, I didn't realize Canada has a stray dog problem like that. All those dogs were absolutely ADORABLE, and will be easy to adopt out. What really got me was that the dogs were so friendly & craved attention, and weren't feral.....
    I'm SO GLAD the authorities called you guys to come in and rescue them instead of shooting or gassing them! What a wonderful job you did! Just a thought, what about using a large flexible net for situations like that last dog that you had to surround? That way it would have less of a chance of running past you. I see that it worked out in this situation, but for future similar situations, I think it would be helpful.

  • @quicksilver3x3
    @quicksilver3x3 10 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    You're way out of line saying that to me; I and my family have rescued and kept countless stray dogs over the years and given them good lives, and I donate to animal rescues every year. You attack me for my reply to that rude guy accusing me of having a "neuter fetish"? While you do what to help? If you don't realize dog breeders are the root of the problem then there's no point in talking to you. Leave me alone.

    Pray this is just the Start of a Great Campaign Together the Communities Can make a difference ,, Blame is Not the answer Education & Help Is ...when you live in a community so far out Veterinary assistance is Not an option.. Food Housing is difficult to obtain Dr's for Humans are all but Non existent let alone Any help for Animals .. Don't Judge what you Clearly do Not understand .. Not an Excuse Just Clearing up the facts .. Culling is Done all over the world Not just on Native reserves ..

    @nmagnusson Probably not they probably gave the animals they turned back loose a 3 year vaccination considering they are all strays living in packs in a poor community eating scraps they will be lucky to live that long. As long as more dogs don't come in this is probably the end of the problem.

    There are no vets up north. Few and far between. So telling people to fix their animals, how? It takes people to travel north to help. Dr.s, dentists, and vets. And there are not a lot, doing that. So dogs breed, and the numbers increase until there are too many again.

  • @fharasimiw
    @fharasimiw 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't really know much. Just that I have never been asked for money. Just help in influencing professionals to donate their time to go North to help. They would pay, themselves for rabies, distemper, spay or neuter etc. They just can't afford to truck stray dogs somewhere, and try to find towns near them that would help seems impossible, because they are in the same boat. Not asking for freebees, just realistic ideas.
    And TH-cam, stop kicking people off for their opinions! JUST STOP IT!!!!!
