    Just checked the underside of my 2017 mazda 3 and was shocked to find the painful truth. All bushings, bolts nuts and basically all the components are severely corroded because of lack of galvanised protection coating. This is a cost saving trick done by Mazda and I urge every person that bought one to chech at least the bolted connections from behind each wheel. Mazda seem to get away with it but this is dangerous long term for drivers who buy used cars(mine was brand new with 50 miles on clock) . I will troll Mazda on every channel to raise people awareness of the dangers they expose themselves to by buying Mazda cars. Thank you for reading my comment and stay safe.

    I've had mine for 3 years. It's got a lot going for it, but some glaring negatives:
    No armrest.
    If you put anything heavier than a loaf of bred in the passengers' seat, the airbag warming alarm goes off.
    The lack of storage compartments in the cabin it annoying
    You can barely fit a single Mounting Bike in the back - only if you nearly disable it.
    Mazda wants 400 for an SD card with their GPS - LOLWUT.
    Small gas tank

    Bought one and it is a lot of fun to drive with good gas mileage and plenty of room. If I had to complain I would say the backseat its a little cramped unless you’re thin or under 5‘8“. That’ sport mode with the ability to shift up and down in a separate slot is just flat out fun.

    • @hectorheath9742
      @hectorheath9742 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A little cramped?! As usual for Mazda, back seats only suitable for kids, I gave up trying to (comfortably) get in and I'm not that big.

    • @pendragonshall
      @pendragonshall 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@hectorheath9742 Then get a Cx-5 if the backseat is to small? Cx-3 and sports cars that have rear seats are small for a reason. To save gas, speed, cost of vehicle etc. Toyota and Honda makes their backseats a little bit bigger but cost more and get slightly less gas mileage etc. Mazda just makes a superior vehicle but Toyota and Honda are great as well. Mazda is just a little better. On a side note I still get cramped in the rear of comparable Honda's and Toyota's as the size difference isn't enough for anyone that's not thin or over 5'10" at all. And since Mazda literally is better in all other categories that made it an easy choice. But like I said since Toyota/Honda have that slightly bigger rear seat and that's the deal breaker for you. There ya go. Not exactly sure what point you were making exactly but I took it friendly and am responding same.

    Not as efficient as - what ? I own a CX 3 AWD 150 and it consumes a lot less than a Mercedes C 200 I had as a rental and drove it through Poland. The Mercedes is quite efficient in a very limited rev range but the Mazda Skyactiv almost doesnt care. Exceeding the efficient rev range is far less dramatical than in the Mercedes... So the overall drivability of any Skyactiv driven Mazda is far better. than that from this stuply downsized whatever- And it has no Turbocharger what can fail ...

    It is indeed the best looking Mazda SUV; too bad Mazda didn't insulate the interior better since the road/wind noise was so evident in the video (which the reviewer commented on) and that would be a showstopper for me. I do a lot of highway driving and that constant cacophony in the background would be intolerable.

    I always see reviewers complaining Mazda cars are not turbo charged. Well a lot of people prefer linear power and not having Turbo lag, I drive a 2.5 Mazda3 and it pulls strongly from take off to 6k rpm, few turbos can claim that.

      I am very happy with my 2017 front wheel drive 2 liter 150 hp. I don't recommend getting the lower hp model because I believe it isn't as fuel efficient because it struggles to accelerate. My 150 petrol version gets 29/34 mpg, and the peak torque comes in very early at 2800 rpms, and being a light vehicle at only 2800, it accelerates quite nicely. Also, the Bose stereo sounds great, and the interior looks high quality and is very comfortable. I hope you enjoy your new car, I know I am very satisfied with mine. Cheers!

      Negative
      - You must plug your phone to enable Apple car play. ( Annoying at first but you get to charge ur phone so its not a big deal )
      - Back sit is good for 3 children or 2 adult. ( I woulnt recommended 2 tall people seat in a same pattern )
      - Cabin isn't really that small.
      I would recommend you to compare cx-30 and cx-3 on dealer store. But then again I will choose cx-3 due of the size of it and how much I save gas.

    I'm in the US, and here we offer the 2 liter 150 hp in front and all wheel drive. I have a 2017 front wheel drive, and it is one of the fastest models in it's class. I believe only the turbo charged Hyundai Kona is faster. The 0-60 is 8 seconds, while the comparable Subaru Crosstrek is over 9 seconds. Also, the 2 liter hits peak torque at 2800 rpms, which is one reason it accelerates so much more quickly than the Subaru that peak tq is achieved at 4000 rpms. The suspension is a little stiffer than others, but that gives it a sporty feel and pretty impressive handling, especially for an SUV.
    By the way, I have the 6 speed automatic with sport mode. The transmission shifts extremely smoothly, and in sport mode it stays in the higher rpms for faster response acceleration. I want to add that the Bose stereo sounds great and the interior is a step above others in it's looks and comfort levels. My model is a Touring, and has almost all the features except AWD (it's available in both). Mine being FWD, the gas mileage is actually one of the top in its class. It gets 29/34 miles per gallon. The AWD is 27/32. I guess in Europe the vehicles seem to be a little different, because in the video he said the MPG was worse than others, although he was driving the weaker 115 hp model, which probably struggles to accelerate, therefore using more fuel.

      What state do you drive mostly in and have you seen any rust underneath thank you

  • @server1ok
    @server1ok 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Because the Mazda petrol can be revved high without stressing the engine or increasing consumption you need to shift LESS and the engine has a decent power on a wider range than the turbos. This is why a CVT is not needed and why Mazda doesn't use CVT's. The downside is a constant higher pressure which should require fresh oil at all times. You can view the Skyaktiv Engine as having a supercharger build into the engine although using some of the engines power to compress the air results in a loss of output, i.e. the basic movement of the engine works as an additional compressor. A popular mod is to increase the inflow so that less movement energy is subtracted by the engine when it compresses, adds about 5 hp. As with most engines past 2016, be extra careful with fuel and oil quality or all of the savings will go out the window

    Im not sure about the fully equipped AWD European model , but when it comes to a US
    base front wheel drive model , the car is 200 pounds lighter , people who tested the 0-60 time got
    around 7.8-8.5 seconds , not 8.8 which makes a difference. One more thing , if the vehicle was properly
    broken in when new , that also makes a big difference. My 2019 has plenty of torq at 3500 RPM , and is not
    sluggish at all , for an automatic. 13to1 compression ratio along with premium gas speak for it self.
    Again , it is a $21K vehicle , plenty for your buck.

      @@shroomyesc That's not true, where did you get that information from? Of course you can get CX-9 in Europe although they're not very common because CX-7 is big enough for anyone over here and also I believe they don't make them in right hand drive so you won't see them in the UK almost at all.

      None of what you said is true apart from the good gearbox. I've done 100k kilometres in my CX-3 and this is just plain nonsense. I've got the 2.0L AWD and the engine is fine and most definitely not old, 150 bhp in a car that costs around 20k (rough conversion) that's absolutely plenty. The interior isn't borrowed from anywhere and about the plastic...please show me one car in this price range that doesn't have plastic in its interior, the quality is more than sufficient. And road noise is really not a problem at all, not sure where you got that from.
      The ride is great, offroad performance is surprisingly good even though I expected it to be decent and it's reliable (I've not had a single problem in the over 5 years I've been driving it).

      Dean Milisic ... the reason for the end were the emissions. I was told they are planning to replace it with a new model in about a year. But my guess is that the new electric suv car that will be presented in October in Tokyo might be the replacement.
