Canada Post is a poorly managed Crown Corporation that’s losing marketshare due to its lack of innovation and inability to lower costs and increase volume. There are dozens of companies that drive packages over the border and mail them back into Canada via USPS. This strike pushed more small businesses to take that route, and will cost Canada Post millions is future lost earnings, adding to the millions they’ve already lost due to strike action.
Postal Workers and their incompetent Union don’t seem to understand they’re shooting themselves in the foot.
Also, if you read their actual demands you’ll see tons of bizarre things, like a demand that Canada Post pays for gender reassignment surgeries.

Canada Post profits tens of millions after their losses. If you're a share-holder of any company, you'll find that data in its annual and quarterly financial reports.
For example, Johnson & Johnson reported over half a billion in losses for 2023, yet they still profited greatly.
If a company's revenue is a billion dollars and it loses 300 million, due to taxes and other expenses such as depreciation of assets, it still profited 700 million.

Just remember without unions we would work 7 days a week for nothing. CUPW was the first union to achieve parental leave in canada. Any benefit you have as an employee was won by a union. Dont let corporations turn you against unions.
