Jokers and Crows used to be my favourite too until I just noticed that in the first edition of joker’s and kasumi’s, after the enemy is defeated joker tries to act edgy by posing with his back turned to the camera but then kasumi pulls him towards her and does the final pose and joker is smiling in it
It’s so good but I don’t like that one just because of how floaty her part feels, the others have some level of impact but hers just doesn’t feel as powerful if that makes any sense
Rintaro I mean she uses a rapier and they're not meant to be a very hefty weapon with a lot of weight behind them they're all about precise, sharp and agile movements that pierce vulnerable areas.
Rintaro personally I just don’t like the cutaway with her and her sister. They could have done it so she fought like she did in the Casino cinematic, jumping on and around enemies while shooting them with her rifle and slashing/stabbing with her rapier.

Thomas Fairburn I would have preferred that version of Akechi over the public facade he makes in the public eye. I don’t hate the guy as I used to, however I do feel upset that in the original version he felt more despicable than he actually is. I blame the lack of time needed to flesh out the story. In Royal, however, he’s more of the guy who intentionally became a monster to blend in a society that can hide their monstrous sides. He even despised Joker because he was everything Akechi wanted to be, but never could. And the best part is, he is not hiding the fact he’s monster, and isn’t asking for mercy, either. He is embracing both his false public persona and his desire to destroy a corrupt society and need to rebuild it in his image. I am glad his Confidant changed a manual one. The OG version of that Confidant was empty as his Ace Detective charade. In short, my hate for this character has changed to a form of respect. Though, I still do find him sketchy.

They don't even give you a final goodbye gift(for akechi is understandable but not Violet.. Violet's goodbye is super dry and honestly just bad. The veiw when Queen and noir and you get a front row seat on the beat down made me think for the enemy like " WAIT,WAIT,WAIT!" Then as Queen got the chair."NO,NO,NO,NO! NOT THE-(hit over the head with the head)(sounds dazed) chair!" Then for the final attack made me think"OH COME ON!". Plus I got the fist of the phantom star thevies
I love how the alternatives are made for enemies that for whatever reason can't be rendered into the scene (usually size) so that where the enemy would be is off camera or obscured But for Haru and Makoto, you can clearly see that there just straight up isn't an enemy
I missed out on kasumi's showtime with joker becuz I already did all of the quests and had no reason to go to mementos and finished getting the route to the treasure on the last palace. Time to do another run....
Funny little fact I found while exploring the thieves den. If you go to the movie section, you can see that all the showtimes official names are parodied off movies. I haven’t unlocked all of them (about to send the Okumara calling card) but the ones I’ve seen are Gun With The Wind (Ann and Morgana) Inglorious Beef bowl (Ryuji and Yusuke)(this one I really like cause the naming for it can’t get anymore perfect) Mad Moxie (Makoto and Ryuji) And I forgot the name of Ann’s and Yusukes but I know it’s a Karate Kid reference. Now, I refuse to watch the rest of this video until I see all the showtimes for myself
I love that the name of the showtime attacks are all references to movies, the Yusuke x Ryuji one is even named after Inglorious Basterds. And funnier is after I noticed that I can only imagine Ryuji saying during the showtime “Say goodbye to your N*zi balls”
Something I just noticed that I haven't seen anyone else mention: With Sumire, when she dances with Kasumi in her showtime, a border appears with roses. It is as if she is viewing the dance with her sister through rose colored / rose tinted glasses, referencing the English idiom (meaning viewing something with an optimistic view... in this case, viewing her sister as still living, tying in to her whole storyline). I think this is so clever, it gave me goosebumps when I realized it
showtime attacks aren't based on actual ability. they're essentially wishes that can be granted in a pinch in the metaverse. because yusuke can conceive of being able to cook in his mind, he can do so as part of a showtime attack, regardless of if he would normally be able to.

I love how Ryuji and Makoto's Showtime is completely different when in a boss fight
I love how the alternatives are made for enemies that for whatever reason can't be rendered into the scene (usually size) so that where the enemy would be is off camera or obscured
But for Haru and Makoto, you can clearly see that there just straight up isn't an enemy
I missed out on kasumi's showtime with joker becuz I already did all of the quests and had no reason to go to mementos and finished getting the route to the treasure on the last palace. Time to do another run....

Something I just noticed that I haven't seen anyone else mention: With Sumire, when she dances with Kasumi in her showtime, a border appears with roses. It is as if she is viewing the dance with her sister through rose colored / rose tinted glasses, referencing the English idiom (meaning viewing something with an optimistic view... in this case, viewing her sister as still living, tying in to her whole storyline). I think this is so clever, it gave me goosebumps when I realized it

showtime attacks aren't based on actual ability. they're essentially wishes that can be granted in a pinch in the metaverse. because yusuke can conceive of being able to cook in his mind, he can do so as part of a showtime attack, regardless of if he would normally be able to.
I like how Ryuji's comment to Yusuke about getting a beef bowl became their showtime attack XD
