    I love Nile's story-telling, and of course, his musicianship. When he plays the guitar it's like hearing all the orchestration of the record.

    …when I lose my way on the vibe and rhythm I return to this pure source.

    With "Chic" Nile created one of the best heavy-disco ever.

    I've always thought Chic was to disco/funk what the Beatles were to rock n roll.

    Love the interviewer's reaction at 2:59

    • @piustwelfth
      @piustwelfth 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was the reaction to seeing herself on screen -- had nothing to do with the song.

    GUITAR PLAYERS! At 2:20 this damn thing is A LESSON! How can something so full and lush sounding look so deceptively simple? It only LOOKS SIMPLE. Nile's basically playing piano AND drums on guitar.

  • @st8kout961
    @st8kout961 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Like a lot of songs, there's two ways it's played on guitar; the way he plays here because he's solo, and a different way on stage when there's a piano backup. (You can find a youtube vid showing the other way.)
    Not sure why they couldn't do a better job on sound though.

    He seems like a really sorted chap... unfettered by the egotism and hubris of the music biz. His music does the taliking. And that's how it should be..

    The sound on this is AWFUL. She, you can barely hear, and Nile’s voice and music just echoes around the whole room. Such a waste.
