  • Made this video to show you the difference between the stock hpfp on the Gen 1 b58 on the 340i bmws, vs the b58TU hpfp found on the new Toyoya Supra aswell as 20 year 40i model bmws and more.
    This is a common upgrade on the gen 1 b58 as it has fueling limitations with the original High Pressure Fuel Pump

    Is the new pump noisy? On the B48 they use the same one and its a horrible ticking noise at mid rev.

      You can get it directly from a Toyota dealer!

      Trevor Elam Ok thanks! Is it a “direct bolt-on” or require more supporting mods? Also how much was it? Appreciate any response !

      @@dwoodruff4413 it should be 7-900! And direct bolt in you will have to slightly bend your fuel rail tubing. And order a wire extension from burger motor sport

    Can you run full e85 on the b58tu pump? or still only e30-e50?

    • @trevorjelam
      @trevorjelam  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Full e85 is possible, you would need to turn down boost to do so though without it crashing. My car runs an E50 blend and put down 525whp and 627wtq on the dyno with the custom tune

    why is it called TU?

    • @luqmaanjoseph
      @luqmaanjoseph 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bmw motors that receive updates are commonly called 'tu' models or variants. In this case you get the B58 (Gen 1) and the B58tu (or Gen 2). In the TU variant you also get the low power and high power model but that's a whole other story again. But yeah the TU high pressure fuel pump is alot better to the stock / Gen1 pump.
