- Happy new 2023 . This is our very first trip on the 2nd of January . We all decided to go local and fish the firth of Clyde . The start was cold with minus temperature , the sea was calm , unfortunately extremely cloudy . With last week deluge and flood , visibility under water was nil . I wander who caught the very first fish of 2023 , enjoy the adventure and stay tuned throughout 2023 . Have a great year everyone ..

An old boy from Clydebank told me years ago they used to catch huge cod under the Erskine bridge from the bank, then they let the trawlers in and wiped them out , good to see them back 👍
There are plenty small fish and species in the Clyde . The bigger fish seems to be hiding in inaccessible areas . I hope it gets better one day ..
Trawlers should not be allowed within THREE MILES of the cost
6 would be better
@@arniec5707 Totally agree .
Super merci pour le partage. Excellente année à vous.
Merci les potes .
Can you catch haddock and pollack from the pier in gourock?
There is no pier at Gourock . Let me know where the pier is . You can catch fish everywhere papiez
@@NicolasValentinScotland thanks for your reply. I'm a newbie that just bought a rod with a reel. Trying to learn about lures and baits and what can I catch. I heard about fishing at the back of train station in gourock. I have no access or funds for a boat or kayak.
If you can cast into deep water like at Gourock or Greenock then you have a good chance catching fish . you can use either lures or bait . on the kayak it is much easier @@papiezguwniak
@@NicolasValentinScotland alright thank you.
That's a fine pollock I see in the picture and not a haddock.
Well the first fish is a pollock and the last one is Sea Scorpion . Did you not see the Haddock Matt ?
Have a good 2023 🪂🚴♂️🚣😃👍
Thank you Pal . looking forward to it already
