A lot of people think that ABBA was successful just because of the incredible voices of the girls. While true, their production was next to none and well ahead of its time. Love and respect, brother, hog fam Canada 🇨🇦 ❤

As hip as your old uncle at the time. Your mom and dad, and any uncool kid were fans. Decades later considered one of the greatest pop bands of all time. So much so, a dedicated auditorium in London for them, plays every day *similar to hologram - it just sold its 1,000,000 ticket. No band could do this. Longevity and well worth it.

The singer is Agnetha, her husband wrote this after they got divorced, he went on to marry someone else, she didn't have a partner for many years. He made her sing lines like And tell me does she kiss like I used to kiss, does it feel the same when she calls your name.... It must have been SO difficult for her.

It's the end of the journey for ABBA, so in love at the beginning. ABBA were Agnetha Bjorn Benny Annifrid, hence the band name. This song was written by Bjorn for Agnetha to sing during their real life divorce, that's why it sounds so real.
Agnetha has such a beautiful voice, she still is kinda Godess to me. Remembering the days back in the seventies ands eighties . . . SHE was my favourite girl, yeah, I wanted to marry her 🙂 there are songs you really start to understand when you're a bit older. This is one of it !
Honest brutality, man. That's how it is. Till you feel it, you don't know. But when you know, you REALLY know. Love the one you are with or walk away and never look back. Never know what the future holds or what it can bring you.
You have SUCH GREAT ENERGY! Yes those lyrics were personal to her because her husband (guitar player ) wrote the song and they were divorcing. The other two were also to be divorced soon after. Complicated situation for members of the group all married to each other
one of the best sad love songs ever made! ♥ I suggest these ABBA songs: SOS, Take A Chance On Me, Knowing Me Knowing You, Chiquitita, Summer Nite City & Gimme Gimme Gimme
Shon, It is a break-up song. Agnetha (Anna) sings the lead. It was written by her husband Bjorn and Benny Andersson . Anna and Bjorn were the AB in ABBA "The winner Takes it All" was released at just after they divorced. Benny and his wife Freda (Anni-Frid) were the BA in ABBA. They divorced soon thereafter. Today, 40 years later the band is together again.
The power, the tone and the emotional expression in her voice pierces right to my soul. It's on the verge of supernatural. I love them so much. Crushed me when they called it quits. Back in 1982.
ood Reaction, My Friend. That was her long-haired, former Husband standing to her right, who wrote the song that she had to perform about THEIR divorce(though at the time they just said they were "influenced" by it but the truth emerged later. Abba had 2 Lead Singers but, for obvious reasons, Agnetha sang this solo.. The other Guy was on the piano, with the beard:)
I loved your reaction. I would love to see you react to more ABBA. You also seem such a nice person. It was a privilege watching your video. Thank you.
Abba is made up of two couples, this was written by her ex husband as they were going through divorce (unknown to their fans)- 'there's a line in the song/ the judges will decide'. Both couples ended up splitting up.
I like the juxtaposition of ABBA's catchy hooks and upbeat melodies against their sometimes soberingly sophisticated lyrics. It's got something for everyone. You can think deep thoughts while you are dancing! They were deservedly popular, and their music holds up. Glad you reacted to it. I think your innonceence is shaping your world, rather than the world corrupting your innocence. Please keep it that way, Shon.
Thank YOU Shon 👍🏾 for a real and honest reaction on ABBA "The winner takes it all" All songs from abba is about real life situations and they made songs about Divorce and losing love..And thats because of abbas have this problems in the group..when Agnetha sings this so is a Divorce on the table between Bjorn guitarist and songwriter as standing next to Agnetha the blond singer..🤯👁️ABBA was VERY big band in this time,So when they sing this song to the WORLD it was so so sad.😮.2year after the divorce ABBA was gone..😢no more songs from ABBA 😢😮❤. ❤️🇸🇪❤️🇺🇲❤️🇸🇪. Thanks for the reaction. I've always loved ABBA. And yes, this song probably hit home for the blond lead singer. She and the clean shaven guy to her right playing acoustic guitar were married when the band first started out, and he wrote the song. They divorced just as the band really started gaining a lot of world-wide fame. But even though their divorce was friendly, I'm sure there were some feelings there. And the singer with the dark red hair, Frida, has just married the bearded guy at the piano, Benny. Their divorce was not so amicable. The band didn't survive their divorce.
Yes, there are guys in this group. The two men were at one time married to the two women, and they wrote all the songs. They also provided background vocals and piano.
In my teengae years mum had the Abba album. I know all the songs and words. This song was vert sad and it affected me about love n loss. i felt for when she sang tgus song coz it relates to her divorced from her husband. Must had been hard to sing it.
Funny when you hear them talking and they struggle with English yet when they sing they are clear as a water with English. Great t reaction as per usual
Shon your cool my friend ! I think Agnetha is the prettiest women in the world , Im simpin for life ! LOL your so cool my friend that is what Agnetha called the harmonies from ABBA - the choirs !

Lovely stuff. May I suggest 'simon and garfunkle (solo by garfunkle) bridge over troubled water, live at a concert in central park , he blows 100thousand people away with this performance
You are only young, & believe me life can be tough at times especially when you split up. Sad, but as time goes by you eventually move on. Eventually the sad person will meet someone else - not always, it just depends on the person 😊
I think she's talking about a divorce with her husband he did her wrong and when she said someone way down here loses someone dear I think she means the kids and at the end I think she's talking about the end of the divorce in court because they were couples all the two girls with the two guys and they all got divorced
Only a person who never had a broken heart can react to this song as you did. Wishing you well.
Agnetha’s voice reaches places others can’t. It’s above and beyond.

Clearly the very very best song of Abba, I can hear it 1000 times and still be touched by this song and the wonderful voice of Agnetha!
The fact that she is singing this about her ex thats standing right there, is crazy.

thanks for explaining! i usually do the same in new reactiors to abba comment sections.
The singer is Agnetha, her husband wrote this after they got divorced, he went on to marry someone else, she didn't have a partner for many years. Yep when he, Bjorn was stood next to her strumming on the guitar.
Ok 'GimmeGimmeGimme(A Man after midnight)'next!A huge banger.
Agnetha and Anni-Frid are seriously underrated singers.
ABBA in the begining two swedish couples:
Agnetha (blonde singer) &
Björn (guitarist songwriter)
Benny (pianist songwriter) &
Anni Frida (brunette singer)
both couples separated before the breakup of ABBA in 1982:
Agnetha & Björn at end of 1978
Benny & Frida at begin 1981
"The winner takes it all" (1980)
is one of the Best Songs by ABBA
and the Most sad and emotional too
The best lyrics by the guitarist Björn
and the greatest performing with the amazing Interpretation
of
the blonde singer Agnetha Fältskog and her soprano voice
The lyrics is a fiction about a divorce,
it is not about Their real life,
although it is obviously influenced by Their own experiences
and the realization of the legal divorce between Agnetha & Björn in the middle of 1980,
even though They were no longer a couple or lived together more than a year and half ago, at the end of 1978
In fact, the song was more nearly in time to the split of Benny & Frida as a couple, only a few months later
the Official Video with more than 120 millions views in TH-cam,
was filmed on July 12 (1980), is a Masterpiece as the song
it shows the blonde singer Agnetha alone so sad and remembering happy times,
and the others members so nice together, a perfect example of contrast feelings
It's the first ABBA vídeo with images in black and white about Their previous history,
to introduce us in the context; I think it's their best official video
but just as a great performance by Agnetha is seen in these video,
almost like a dramatic actress, transmitting the sorrow, anguish and pain,
there are also videos in the back room of the filming, which show the four cheerful and funque
These is a TV perfomanece in Germany 1980, also there's other more in France 1980
"The winner takes it all" return ABBA to the Top of the charts,
gives ABBA their eighth #1 in UK after almost two years and half
Also was the fourth and last Top10 to ABBA in U.S (pick at #8 in 1981)
and #1 in US Adult Contemporary too
"The winner takes it all"
was voted the Best ABBA song by the British fans,
and is the favourite ABBA song to the blonde singer Agnetha
and now in the new Voyage concerts at London that begins exactly one year before, the encore song is...
"The winner takes it all"
For a new reaction I suggest
"Super Trouper" (1980)
the last #1 to ABBA in UK
with the brunette singer Frida in lead voice
