      Could have been expressed in a more constructive way, but yes - the piano is slightly too dominant and kind of drains out the violins.

      I disagree, Sir. It’s really fine the way it is - and very likely the way Haydn wrote it and intended it to be played…

      @@winchellcraig9981 The piano as Haydn knew it was actually much smaller and quieter than the modern grand. Part of the reason Haydn writes the violin and cello to have little independence from the piano is because they were partially there to provide support for the relatively timid fortepianos of the time.
