How to Make Arrows: 2 Straightening/Sanding Shaft

- This is the second video in a series about making arrows. In this video I talk about stripping the bar, sanding, and straightening the shaft. (Make arrows at your own risk)
In the next video of the series I will talk about adding a knock and arrowhead to the shaft. This series will cover all that is needed to make an arrow-start to finish.

Jus got a black hunter bow, love it. A. Into bushcraft/survival, glad your video proper up.
I lay them on a flat surface like a table an roll them to see where they bow , then I’ll apply pressure to the shaft an lift each end to bend it straight , I find this works well , plus I straighten them as they dry , by the time they’re dry they’re straight
Good video. I also use shell casings for blunts. .38 special and .357. To increase arrow head weight to better match the weight of my broadheads, I like to drop into the shell casing some #7 1/2 lead shot along with the hot glue.
I’m going to have to start doing that. I would like some more punch power in my blunts! Thank you for the tip! This channel was created for each of us to pass on our knowledge and the knowledge others have taught us so I really appreciate it!

Honestly as an experienced bowyer, Fletcher and knapper there is something that Im trying to find a good video on.... The "v" cut to make a takedown or mount 2 pices of wood to make a bow or a takedown bow.
Im looking for a nice couple pices of mountain mahogany and I'm gonna have to make a 2 joined pice.
It just won't grow straight. But it's extremely dense and beautiful wood.
