He is a machine of time and harmony! A unic expirience to whom works and hear his play!

Second movement played without sentimentality and in the most perfect tempo, not too slow. The soloist a bit wobbly in the fast passages of the second movement. But what a passionate music!! You won't believe it but this was "my song" when I first fell in love, 18 years old, more than half a century ago..........

Not really, it's quite known within musicians, and people who know it usually like it a lot. The problem of not playing is in the people who make programs for festivals - they tell the famous pianists to play the evergreens like 2nd rach, brahms, tchaikovsky etc. And for average pianist like me it's quite hard - tips of the fingers kinda hurt from this concerto. especially the pinkie. I've played it, in 2nd between 6:00 - 7:30 it's real pinky torture (Berezovsky plays that slowly instead of slowing down to tempo I he actually has to make it faster). Then after 2 minutes of rest comes the beggining of 3rd 9:30 and your already sore pinkies from 1st and 2nd mov are once again tortured and it continues throughout the whole 3rd mov. There is usually f/ff/fff in the chords and melody on the top and orchestra is fuking loud so you have to play ffff to be heard. Really quite tiring concerto. If you make the orchestra play as soft as in this recording it could be easier, but most orchs. cannot do that.

Anyway it's in my opinion the best lesser known p. concerto. In 20,30 years when my fingers won't be that thin I will definitely play it again.

Boris is for me my video trainer. But in this piece I miss the saw. The Ural one was also nice.

Has anyone noticed that Boris Berezovsky (piano) and Nathan Fillion (T.V. Castle) could be twins playing this beautiful music?

    Good performance... But
    1) Why a so fast 1st movement?
    2) Why no flexatone in the 2nd movement? I'd love to hear it
