- I am going to be trying counting cards in double deck blackjack game and see if counting cards will truly help me building up my bankroll.
I will be playing 30 sessions and see if I can make money constantly counting cards.

I get that this is purely hypothetical for the video. For those who are just learning, I just want to add that if your bankroll is 1,000 and your minimum bet is $50, you're very likely to lose it all. In these shoes you just got really good positive variance. I don't have the bankroll and bet spread calculator at hand, but I would have like a 5$ min, 1:12 bet spread. So at TC 6+ you're betting $60. Even with that you have like a 40% chance of losing your bankroll, or 60% of winning over the long term.
Came looking for this comment. Glad it was right at the top. Suffice to say that especially in the first round, being up $500 starting with a $50 base bet was extremely good (lucky, but good) positive variance. However, you won't generate good EV betting like that long term

Exactly, you can loose $1,000 at a 10 table in 40 hours easily. Standard deviation is a bitch. But unlikely to loose $2,000 if your game is perfect

Your minimum Bankroll should be 100 max bets. So if your spread is 10-100 then $10,000. But yes it’s fake money so he probably doesn’t care
I like that you keep the count up on the corner. As I'm still preping to hit my first table so i cover it with my thumb an check it every 3 or 4 hands.

Just right over the 6 min mark he mentions the true count is a 7 when the running count is 6 the next hand adds to a total of -3 is that a typo when it says the running count is +4 instead of +3?

When the true count is that bad I just leave the table.
The TC was extremely good. Some people use negative numbers for highs, these guys used them for lows
I have a challenge for you if you wish to answer the call. And to truly go through mock-test-run-trials, in double deck games the dealer should "hit" on 17 instead of stand. The house edge is far too low and the ultimate lottery game for any AP and rarely offered outside the main jurisdictions.

3 questions (forgive me I’m learning): Is the general strategy to increase your bets a bit as the true count increases to higher positive numbers? And to hold your betting amount lower as you get into the lower negative? And is it not recommended to start a count if you come to a table in the middle of the shoe, or to wait until a reshuffle to start playing off the count? Thanks for any advice y’all have.
Correct you will bet table minimum until you have the advantage and then raise your wagers as the count goes higher in accordance with your pre calculated bet spread
There are also playing deviations with the count, such as splitting tens vs a six with a true count of +4
And finally yes, you have to begin your count at the start of the shoe, you cant hop in half way through

Yes, you should be really carefull with the way you manage your bankroll. One of the most important parts of the game. And allways take insurance if the true count if Over +3

Really helps see it in action. What happens to the true count when the cut and shuffle the deck?
There are multiple (6 or 8) decks in the shoe. When the shoe runs out they shuffle em all up again and the count resets.

If surrender is an option you are correct, should have surrendered at 3.08 vs a dealer 10 as per basic strategy. If however, surrender is not an option and the count is negative, hitting is not a bad option (many low cards). if the count is positive, just staying is best - make sense?

count goes minus and should "wong" out. meaning go to the bathroom...take a break....don't play and pay "rent"
Wonging out is good for when the count is super negative but I prefer using aggressive bet spreads and paying rent at the table. I’ll place like $5 bets until a positive true count and then bet like $100
The counting and strategy is nice but a bet spread of 1:3 is pretty pointless if you’re actually trying to generate an edge
At my Casino the dealer doesn’t show the first card value, they just remove the first one, with out knowing what it was, with this affect the true count????
just ask what it was. say something like "did you remove my ace"
No, it doesnt affect the count. Just in this sense: the more cards are unseen, like the cut-off ones and this first one, the less likely is a high running count.

What's the difference between true count and running count?
True count is adjusting the running count for how many decks remain. It gives you a more accurate reading on your advantage. It's the running count divided by the amount of decks remaining (to the nearest half deck)

I thought to find the true count was the running count divided by the number of decks? but in the video you have a running 2 but the true count is 1.4 can't be true unless you are divided wrong or I am wrong?
probably less than a deck remaining. If you have a RC +2 with 1/2 deck remaining the TC is +4
The end of the am first shoe had a running count of +3.

Sorry I'm new to card counting and blackjack, but the play at 18:40, wouldn't he have wanted to hit again, as he had 13, the running count was -2, and the dealer had a 4. There was more chance of a low card being drawn so is there any reason he didn't hit again? Sorry if I missed something. Just trying to learn :)
That's basic strategy. A table tells u what decision to make with consideration of dealer's up card and ur hands card. It's been proven by running computer simulation. The card counting system is there to helps u to decide ur bet size.

No running count is only -2 not enough to take a card.

I don't know where you learned about true count/running count but your true count will NEVER be higher than your running count. At one point in the first shoe you have a running for and showing a true count of 6.5. and that was when you were in your final deck. That's not how that works. You take the running count and divided by the number of decks remaining. So, for example, when you had a running four with less than a deck left, your true count would also be four. 4 / 1 = 4.
4 divided by 0.75 when he had 3/4 of a deck left = 5 so the true count can be higher when there is less than a deck left
This is not at a real casino though. She doesnt have one of those peeker devices to check her hole card.
The only advantage the house has is playing the hand last. If your counting cards, the dealer has as good of a chance as you when the count goes in either direction. I don’t see the point.
More high cards means more dealer busts since they have to hit until 17 meanwhile us card counters will adjust when we hit to get optimal odds, amounting to a 3.4% advantage over the house assuming perfect play

You are off on the count most of the beginning of this video. Only by 1 for the most part but then in got off by 2. I really enjoy your videos for practice but I had to rewatch a few times to make sure I wasn’t wrong.

big tip.. ,,, to me card counting is not for how much to bet,, but for how to play the cards.. and more importantly ,, win bet more lose bet less . you can have a very high card count and still keep losing.. that being said.. i will not play the game without card counting ,, but i use it more on how to play the cards then how much to bet. and make profit often using that rule.

Quite the opposite. With a 15 vs dealer 10 the optimal play is surrendering but I assume the rules wouldn't allow that so his hit makes perfect sense. Same deal with a 16 vs dealer 9, 10, Ace.

@@brendolian4527 youre almost correct. but vs a dealer 10 from +4 TC you should stand instead of surrendering. vs 9 its a hit . and vs ace its still surrender

@@SK-pb3ks Wow! So young to start playing these games with real money :) What is minimum bet you playing? Is it 5€? Playing for fun should be nice.. Just always make sure you don't go out of control! I've done it so many times online losing all my bankroll in just couple of hours because I couldn't control my emotion. Online is more tough to beat because most of them are using only about half the shoe(having good running count is tough). Also, with multiple players on the table will even make it more difficult you to have real edge. Good luck to you :)
