😊Thank you, for your honesty! This is the truth that new bookkeepers need to hear in order to better manage our expectations and to better prepare for success.
Wow, being responsible for 66 clients is a lot! I currently use Nifty to keep track of tasks for each client. Its worked well for my small bookkeeping business so far.
Raise prices 10 percent, lose some customers but maintain the ones willing to pay higher rates and lowers workload. Should even out financially. Or Time to begin hiring someone to support the high workload. Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy content.
Feel ya pain! I am at 170 clients but share the workload with 4 part time (20hs/wk) and me full time. It's rough and never ending! 😊 Still available to chat, if you want, on growing pains.
To be honest, I never understood how you handled 50 clients let alone 66. You should be proud of what you've accomplished in such a short amount of time (I'm sure you are). I just received my first signed contract, and it has taken FOREVER. My pace will be just as you stated, SLOW. With a full-time job, I feel just as stressed but I am determined. I'm sure you don't want to do this, but have you considered limiting the number of clients you take on? Or maybe it's time to connect with a contractor who can help maintain your clients and keep up with quality customer service. Keep up the great work and as always, thank you for your support in everything you have shared. DON'T GIVE UP!
It’s time to get help! You have several options. A virtual assistant could be a huge help! Help with emails, phones, on boarding clients, there’s a lot of things you could get support with outside of actual bookkeeping. You don’t want to burn out. Take some time to think of areas that you can easily hand off to an admin. That would be a huge help. I have a background in providing Admin support to CEO, CPAs and accountants. You’re self care and mental health is priority . Good luck!
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s very helpful to hear what’s upfront from the people who are ahead of me! Wish you to find the best solution for your business soon

@@BookkeepingExpert Are you networked with other bookkeepers that you feel comfortable recommending? A solution you might want to explore is having a network of other bookkeepers that you can send clients to for an agreed "finders fee commission", something like % of the first 3 months of the bookkeeper's fee.
Sounds like you need to raise your prices. You may lose some clients in the process, but you need to feel like you’re able to afford to hire help and have the time to train them when you do.
Hi sir, can I apply as your assistant bookkeeper? Acctg graduate & have 5+yrs of bookkeeping experience here in the Philippines. Currently I already have a part-time bookkeeping that I do 7:30 -11:30am Phil time. It's an Australian company, we use Xero & Zenoti. But I am not hired directly by client, I am hired by an agency. I'm a shy person so I want a non-voice job, that's why it's hard for me to get a direct client. But I learn easily, just give me an SOP. I also studied quickbooks online. Acctg systems like Xero & Quickbooks & others apps makes acctg so much easier.
Quick question! Would you recommend using a personal domain email or a regular gmail email address account? Does it make a difference when first starting out?
