Ahhh yes my friend! It was YOUR fault I shelled out $ to upgrade the kit haha 😆! Kidding of course. So little secret...This was done by using my TD20X preset that I carried over to the TD30 but then changed the snare and a few cymbals, added some big reverb, and voila! Nothing better than the 80’s music! Brother love your editing in the video, the four squares was so flippin awesome! I didn’t realize the kick was so busy in this tune. Phenomenal feel and love the spins, while opened and closed handed. You have the perfect sound and you are so dead on dialed in!!! Oh yeah almost forgot, those single stamped tom hits were so FAT! Pumped me up!!!💪 Michael I hope you and your family are doing well and staying healthy. So ready for this craziness to get behind us. Have a wonderful week homie!👍👊✌️💪😁
You know it Steve! 80’s was all about the hair and the music! At least we still have the music 😂. Yeah some cool kick drum fills in this tune. Bill Gibson was not flashy but always solid and original. You can always hear his style coming through in the music. I have big respect for that! Stay well to hermano! Cheers👍🤟🥁🎼🕹

Ah, another cover from my favorite drummer 😎 That song brings back good memories, wasn’t it part of a movie? Anyways, do you notice any difference in response or feel on the TD30? I often felt that the hats react smoother. Great stuff again, Mike - take care & stay safe! 🤘🏼 (By the way: I think this Like was the 1000th like I gave on TH-cam, so „Hooray“ 😁)
Hey Mike thanks for checking it out! So the 30 feels similar but the dynamics are definitely a tad better. The new cymbals and snares are the biggest improvements and of course the usb our which I’m still working on 😉. 1000 likes! I’m privileged! Hopefully I’ll still be around when you hit 10,000. Haha, nice quarantine beard.😆 I got one going as well and I doubt you'll be able to see it before I do another cover. Another great cover on a classic song! I saw Huey live back in '84, still remember the show to this day!
😂 yeah as soon as I didn’t have to be all presentable are work I figured what the heck! I was lucky enough to see them live around 2004 I believe. My work used to have a conference every two years. They would rent out the Coronado Springs resort in FL and fly about 3200 employees down for a work/play 4 day event. The last night there they hired Huey and the boys to play the huge event room for just us! I was bull shitting with Bill after the show over gin and tonics! Good times...
You are correct! However when a recorded another take doing that it was drowning out that fat snare sound so I chose to leave it out. Also added the random percussion just for fun. I did get the huge verb sound from the snare and toms to match the album!

Sensational Mike!! 👏 Love these guys, it’s an amazing album. That my friend was quality playing at its finest! You make it look so easy the way you flow around the kit. Absolute pleasure to watch as always! Those sounds you create on the module are the ducks nuts 👌 Everything sounded so good, the snare in particular. Whatever you do, keep doing it! Is there one setting on the module you play around with that gives you the most bang for your buck?? Or is it a combination of things? You should do a tutorial video on how you dial in your sounds 👍
Hey Badger! A big thanks to you and the ducks nuts haha! So I’ve been fiddling with the Td-20X going on 12 years now and I’ve pretty much figured it out. So I just updated to the TD30 and retained all of my 20 builds so work not lost. I love the new snare, Tom, and cymbal sounds! This kit was a 20 preset but I stole the snare from the 30. I can’t say there’s one peticilar trick. It’s rather tedious but I listen to a song and just dial in each instrument until it’s close, then fine tune (literally) the tuning, eq, reverb, etc until I’m happy with it. Getting the sound takes much longer than recording the tracks but once I save a kit it’s there forever and I’ll usually record a few songs to have some variety. Thought about doing a tutorial...maybe a new project if I’m out of work in May as well!
mfournier01 I have a TD30 as well, awesome module - I’ve not really looked at the in-built TD20X library so I must do that! I hope you’re not out of work too much longer, but at the same time a tutorial would be great! 😉

It started as a Vexpressions kit from the Gigging Kits pack but I changed the snare and ride and cranked up the reverb in the snare and toms.
