    Cool addition to the garage! The 'Internets' want to know: was there anything hiding under the hubcap at the bottom of the bucket? LOL

    It is in such good condition and for that price it's an absolute steal, good on you for getting it! The clicking you hear when turning the key is the idle solenoid on the carb - that's how you know it's working. I would love to see how the engine runs after setting the timing on the distributor and tuning the carb. Do you have a vacuum gauge? That will give you a good insight on if you have any issues. Looking forward to your progress.

    Nice find 👍Rebuild the original carburetor with Japanese carb rebuild kit. don't buy the Chinese carburetor on eBay. waste of money.

    I do enjoy your programs and noticed you now have more enthusiasm in your voice. For a while i noticed you were repeating yourself on matters but not so much now. Keep up the good work and congratulations on all your knowledge of a lot of areas

      I am trying to put videos out regularly but when I need to do some thing that takes awhile the videos can get repetitive. Sorry about that but my videos are of what I'm doing at the moment. Thanks for watching!

    The rims a ok to use. They are not split rims. Looks like a fun project. I look forward to more videos. Good luck👍

      On my 78 I have the same hood and my rims are welded rims. I think if u have discs in the front then they are likely welded but check interwebs. Ps Toyota still sells the rims and hubcaps, but $$$

    Awesome! I've got a '72 in red with 76K on it and the same level of rust. Mine is locked up and I think it may have big issues with the engine. I drained the oil and some metallic stuff came out. I'm not sure if it spun a bearing and it is hung up there or if the pistons are siezed. It was stored outside with all the sparkplugs out but the hood closed. I put an inspection camera down the sparkplug holes and it looks like new in there even hone marks so I'm thinking 76K is accurate. Looking forward to watching you get this thing moving. That rear hatch door is big money - I paid 500 for mine... I think you can double the fuel capacity by putting a mid 80's S10 Blazer tank in at the very back under the bed - supposed to 'just fit'.

    Watched a couple of your videos and subscribed,I'm sure you will replace the valve cover gasket,look and see if there's not a bunch of crud up there keeping it from drawing back to the oil pan,have a good day.

    I had to get titles to 80 CJ7 and 77 FJ40 in Fairbanks AK last summer. It was only $100 for the bond then tags and title were like $200-$300 more. It was not hard to do. Just trailered them to a finance company and it took them 20 minutes to type it up.

      Must be different there. It can be expensive here.

    Wow that was almost too easy to get that running! Either you’re now well practiced, the power of video editing, or u found a winner! Can’t wait to follow along on this journey. Body and floors will fix up nicely. Curious about the main beam, the support under and behind the fron seats in front of the rear wheels. Mine needs repair yet I just can’t stomach the thought of taking the body off the frame to fix and not sure how to fix it in place…. Cheers. Oh btw that radio delete plate u made was awesome, I need to find one of those.

    Just finding your channel on the FJ projects. Very nice and a awesome buy. Are you located in the states? I just rolled my 40 out today that you see in the thumb nail. I overhauled that 2f I mentioned and she’s ready to go on the stand. I’m hoping to have mine back on the road by the end of July. Keep up the good work!

    I was wondering what your wife thinks about these restorations and what do you do for a living? Also, to completely restore the Toyota, how much will you have to invest?

    • @HumbleAcres
      @HumbleAcres  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For one I have the best wife. I was a mechanical designer but right now my primary job is watching my kids and the rest of the time what you see in my videos is what I do for a living. As for the restoration my goal is to be between 10-15k for everything. I will do everything myself so that saves a lot of money.

      @@HumbleAcresAcres You are a lucky man. I was thinking it would be much more than 10k to 15k, but you are much more knowledgeable than I am regarding this project. Thanks for replying so quickly, I am excited to see more videos.

    I really enjoy your videos and the wide range of projects that you tackle. However, I do cringe a bit when I see you start up a car engine in the garage with the door closed! The carbon monoxide in the exhaust is poisonous but odorless, so you don't easily detect it. Even more dangerous when you have an attached garage and small children. Please stay safe!
