Just a small tip for anyone attempting this for themselves. In the Trench Tunnels room type, you can position yourself against the railing and move your camera slowly downwards to lift yourself over the railing. This lets you hide behind some of the long desks along the side of the room to avoid angler. This usually works depending on your position or how long the room itself is, but it's not impossible! (Not very reliable, however) Edit: You can also hide in a corner room with a Trench Tunnels type. Hop over the railing again and walk backwards up the corner. If the corner is leading RIGHT, use the LEFT corner. If the corner is leading LEFT, use the corner DIRECTLY IN FRONT of you. Either way, you are NOT safe from Pandemonium. Going for a further room that IS safe from Pandemonium is still recommended, but it doesn't hurt to go for this to avoid Angler. Good luck on the Badge, everyone!
You not getting a pandemonium was pretty lucky. I don't have a single run where I don't meet that guy... When doing a no locker run, pandemonium is a run ender if you're not lucky enough to come across a sideroom or a vent that can cover you up completely. Edit: Avoiding Pandemonium is not as hard as I thought. Just try to hide next to a locker, box or some place that can hide your character at least a bit and look up. When you're looking up and walk in a wall, your character actually bugs inside the wall a little, making you harder to spot. You can avoid being seen thanks to this most of the time.
same, It's crazy that they say that's the 2nd rarest enemy (rarest beng a-60) and I get pandemonium basically twice per round if i get far, but not a single time have i gotten a-60 yet lol. Pandemonium managed to somehow find mee in the gambling room last which made me so mad because I was trying to get the party special, how did he even see me i have no clue xD
I think Mr fish one forward and back detection line and a right and left one aswell as up and down,maybe there's two diagonal up and down lines to detect any hackers bc mr fish I think it spawns infront of the last closed door and pando (pandemonium) might has the same function,either he checks the out of sight spots or he is chill like Mr fishes cousin Mr frogman2019 (frogman2019=froger Mr fish=angler pando=pandemonium)
0:24 It only saved you because of the raycast algorithm. To not lag or cause memory leaks in the server the programmer had to make it update every few miliseconds or so. This means that it will return the parent of the part that the Raycast hits and if it detects a player/Humanoid then it kills them. It most likely hit the crate before it hit you either that or it didn't update exactly on time and a few miliseconds earlier you would have been killed.
I think the reason why the Angler doesn't kill you is because its hitbox is not a radius but instead a line of sight. Unlike in DOORS where Rush and Ambush's hitbox operates off a radius which means they can still kill you even if you are not in their "line of sight". Think of the anglers as like Medusa except it can just turn you to stone by just looking at you without needing its target to look at them in return.

No, simply how it works is raycasting. The beam RETURNS WHAT IT HITS FIRST AND IS INFRONT OF IT not BEHIND IT. You can hide in a plant infront of angler for as long as the raycast hits the leaf first. Based off of A-60 not killing me while I was infront of it on the stairs, the raycast updates every few miliseconds/seconds to detect if a player was hit by it. If it lands on your body part it'll get the parent which is YOU the player and kill you if a player/Humanoid is found.
a tip for dark rooms: the flash beacon and UV light (AKA the one he carried most of the game on slot 3) can be pointed directly at squiddles without luring them
did you know that the reason pandemonium works differently is because they are an actual monster, while angler and his subtypes are classified as node monsters basically pandemonium cover the entire room while the node monsters have a set path

The Anglers are partially blind and use echo location to travel around, hence why if your in their hit box or line of view they chase you down, they’re scream echoed off of you. It’s also why they’re constantly screaming. Pandemonium has eyes, also why if you avoid it without it seeing you it never screams. It just sounds like a weird mixing of many sounds, which is exactly what the word Pandemonium means.
Pandemonium is still a node monster. The only thing is his line of sight check is not quite as proximity limited and is not tide with a kill system. He only breaks path for chases if line of sight is made or if he detects movement.

@@youcan_dew_it No, Pandemonium can only spawn once or not at all before the ridge. If you get him once and avoid him, he's gone until the game throws everything at you during the Ridge section. He cannot spawn more than once. (p.s. OP did not specify separate runs, so its safe to assume OP is lying if it happened in one run...)
Fun fact: there is a glitch that hasn't been patched yet in the time I'm writing this where you can drop the Card Breacher right after the bar filles up and it will open the door and you'll keep the Card Breacher. Very useful after you pickup the crystal and speed running
also when done exactly right you get 5 copies of the breachers but please dont share this much more, its spreading and the devs might know it at this point. ❤
amazing video that gives me the confidence to try this challenge, and honestly it looks like fun trying to test out/look for certain hiding spots and experimenting but also having fun. 10/10 video!

A little update: I got like half way through the ridge and chainsmoker was coming so I found a spot that would hide me but it wasn't good enough so he got me like last frame, I was upset but I will try again later, I also got pandemonium TWICE but every time it came I had a safe room (the ones you need to check for keycards.) This challenge requires too much luck 😭

I do roblox studio a tiny bit, and my conclusion on why these spots work, is the raycast feature the enemy does to check if it sees you, is getting stuck by the SQUARE hitbox around the object, which is sometimes larger than the object you’re hiding behind, making it let you survive when in all other aspects you shouldn’t. I also believe that the anglers track the HEAD of the character, proven by jamming your head into things saving your life so much.
you're pretty much right, except that it tracks the torso, not the head. your arms legs and head can be visible, but your torso cannot be for pandemonium (and the other node monsters if you're close enough)
So, i think you may have misunderstood. Angler is blind and uses eco-location like bats to find its way, even if u are in front and move out the way to somewhere it cant use eco-location like behind it somewhere, you survive since it cant see or go backwards *or I hope so*
I luckily survived 2 pandemoniuns in a past Lockless run of mine, just to die in the last few rooms of the Ridge because of bad room generation,, i freakin' hate this achievement 😭

I once hid in room where good people were so and there were no lockers left so I hid in a corner and I was right next to angler literally in sight and somehow never died because there were two doors one had a good person in it and straight up went to mine and somehow survived with being right next to angler in sight

The tiny gaps and wall hugging often work because, from what I've heard across the community, the anglers need to see you for about 0.5 seconds to actually kill you. Considering some hiding spots it's obvious why you get caught, but this, on top of the way the raycast works, can sometimes let you hide in plain sight and not get killed. It's all about creating the tiniest, if any, LoS between yourself and the monster.
If you’re wondering, anglers CANNOT see you through a locker. The reason you die when you’re next to a locker is because that the hit box of the locker is too small.
27:15 You can also get the badge "We Die In The Darkness" for not picking up ANY light sources and completing everything up until the 2nd searchlight part. You may be tempted not to but you unlock the Blacklight for doing that so I recommend getting that badge even if it's a stupid idea.

I got to the ridge and died to an angler at door 105. It was a pretty lucky run, too because I only had 2 pandas and the room layouts were pretty good but the rooms I got for ridge were pretty bad.

If you're in the vents and the pandemonia passes, DONT peek out and look at it I've made that mistake on my no damage/locker run on door 88 also forgot to mention no flashlight
This badge is actually one of the more annoying badges in the game. Thankfully you don't unlock anything for getting it so if you wanna play while pretending it doesn't exist you can do that.

If you’re wondering, anglers CANNOT see you through a locker. The reason you die when you’re next to a locker is because that the hit box of the locker is too small.
The actual reason these spots work is it blocks your hit box or you’re too far away from their path. Line of sight only applies for pandy
on my first attempt i got to 98 and died to an angler becouse there were 2 hallways behind me and the next room was also a long hallway

27:15 You can also get the badge "We Die In The Darkness" for not picking up ANY light sources and completing everything up until the 2nd searchlight part. You may be tempted not to but you unlock the Blacklight for doing that so I recommend getting that badge even if it's a stupid idea.
The badge is really easy if you're careful while looting (or you choose not to)

I got to the ridge and died to an angler at door 105. It was a pretty lucky run, too because I only had 2 pandas and the room layouts were pretty good but the rooms I got for ridge were pretty bad.

I think Mr fish one forward and back detection line and a right and left one aswell as up and down,maybe there's two diagonal up and down lines to detect any hackers bc mr fish I think it spawns infront of the last closed door and pando (pandemonium) might has the same function,either he checks the out of sight spots or he is chill like Mr fishes cousin Mr frogman2019 (frogman2019=froger Mr fish=angler pando=pandemonium)

This badge is actually one of the more annoying badges in the game. Thankfully you don't unlock anything for getting it so if you wanna play while pretending it doesn't exist you can do that.
Literally angler was the only one that was in the ridge for me in my run. No pandemonium, froger, pinkie, nothing. Just angler.
