Actually, the physics gun first originated in Garry's Mod. The gravity gun is the closest thing to the physics gun in HL2, it has the same textures, just one is orange, one is blue. However, you never obtain a physics gun in HL2. Unless you count the dark and griddy HL2 beta, the gravity gun is similar to the physics gun only in that it can pick up objects.
I got the ULTRAKILL reference once while playing with a friend, we both know ULTRAKILL and love the game so we had a good conversation about this reference.
6:57 I have encountered this room before and got so much PTSD because it's the exact layout of the game P.T. A horror game that repeats and changes and gets scarier each room. I really loved P.T. years ago and them making a reference in this game is amazing and I was in complete shock when I found it so congrats on finding it too! :3
I've gotten the shrinking room, mindscape room, flesh rooms (in which a walldweller mauled me), and was there to spectate my friend getting some sort of volcano lava room thing-y. And i have played the game 5 times so far. Crazy
7:00 me and a friend found this room once and we agreed that it gave P.T vibes with repeating rooms and a floor above you where that women would look down
4:14 he got updated and now has a real face, this room was not replaced tho its just stupid rare to see OG p.AI.nter and also its rare to see red text on good people door without entering
1:25 This is the Place where MANY Mortals Perished to Froger's Rebound mind games, hence The Badge's name "An Ocean Of Blood" for surviving it, and The Iron Lung might be the Home of The Angler, hence the badge's name "Every Lung Has It's Iron" for surviving it.
And pandemonium’s theme is arrival sound (before activating his lock on hacks) it actually plays “it wakes” not sure if there’s anything else related with pande and Il
Once I saw a blank, unfinished room with a note on the wall that said “niko, make a straight small office type room with a few tipped over desks and shelves in here, add it to the roster when done” Took screenshots :)
2:57 I found it in my run who got Frogger three times and I found a cool room that I forgot to take a screenshot it looks like the back rooms but blue carpet and White walls
3:22 ultra kill reference. It is a reference to that one layer with human birds and trees with blood Edit: 6:39 is a reference to the movie "A Quiet Place."
5:00 or before didn’t bother to get it specific but the lore saus Sebastian can get the “good people” and the thing that controls the sight (I think?) out if we don’t get the crystal and that’s why good people try to stop you and says forgive me and stuff
@@jonsiel_333 because on one hand, hes a human who was wrongly accused of murder, so was locked up and had experiments done to try and give him gills which turned him into the giant fish monster, but on the other hand he released every single entity as revenge and caused the site to go into lockdown. Kinda understandable.
i remember dying to search lights and turns out the only reason we have to fix the generators with searchlights is because Sebastian left the outdoor bulk head open letting it in
2:31 I can’t confirm or deny but i have had the same exact thought; it’s not the same, but it’s clearly a reference to the Statue of Freedom from the series. there are two other monument mythos references in the game: one being of Wonderland (aka the special tree land) in a containment cell; it’s a black void with all these white sticks (special trees) surrounding the area, there’s a chance you’ve seen it. the other is a line when an angler is coming: “Who are you? *I don’t know.* What are you made of? *Bad people.* (the original says “good people” but the reference is totally there)
4:01 in ultrakill there’s 7-3 “No sound, no memory” which is easter egg in itself, whole level is violence ring reference, and room is recreation of it
6:10 this is a reference to an indie(?) game where you play as a comedian who has to speak up to a crowd - that game represents the fears of crowd i think? i cant remember the name or content within at all, i think markiplier did a video on it
1:58 That is actually a reference to Tunneler, another Roblox game, and it is the "Tunneler" device. Plus, that game was inspired by Portal (just a quick edit here, i just remembered a line about aperture science in that game, so their timeline is in the half-life and portal universe), which was made by VALVe, who also made half-life, so you're sort of right on that one. srry for the long ass comment btw
1:02 I feel like this is what the document means when it says “The panopticon must hold.” As we know, Pandemonium is constantly decomposing, meaning he isn’t at his strongest. Possibly, when he can finally consume enough flesh to finally have its full body, it is extremely strong and could easily destroy the blacksite. Just a theory.
no, the room you're thinking of is inspired by one of the rooms near the ending of dead seater, one of the previous games before the upturned. it's the room right before the ending cutscene
Im not sure when it was added or if he just missed it, but there's a document you find in the room at 2:13 that explains what the Christmas tree is, and it's probably my favourite document in the game.
It is a interloper reference, but he also has a bigger involvement in the story. He's the one that sebastian references when talking about the files after you die, and how he only lets sebasatian uncensor a few sentences at a time.
3:18 I’m not sure about the reference, but I think it’s something from Dante’s Inferno. It’s the 7th layer of hell, “Treachery,” where people that betrayed themselves (suicide) go in hell, the trees are the people, stuck standing endlessly in insufferable positions, directly attached to trees. Considering this game, I’m surprised they didn’t add the worst part of Dante’s Inferno in Treachery, where there is a giant frozen lake, blood and metal is scattered everywhere and the sinners are stuck inside of it with only part of their head, hands, or feet sticking out.
I’m pretty sure those people trees are from ULTRAKILL as well. They are from the Violence layer, and are a reference to the trees of Suicide from Dante’s inferno. It’s like the only Ultrakill level where V1 uses a flashlight, so fitting that they added it
5:59 its a reference to the source arg interloper. He also appear if you get left behind by your teammates. He's based of the umberalla man with the way he phases through walls and the jingle that plays when he spawns. He's also called mr lopee.
Its a Squiddle a type of creature you'll meet in the game its harmless as long as you: don't get close to it or shine your flashlight, or any light source at it But if you have a blacklight they will not be affected by the light... But you still need to stay away from it.
I also had a room once where it was not finished yet, everything was grey and there was like some kinda reminder that the creator needed to finish this room.
So I really don't know about this, but the skeleton at 2:20 is probably from Grim Fandango, but then again it probably isn't. Btw love the videos, they're pretty cool
2:13 That is the Analog Horror Christmas Tree, Its document is mostly redacted with the premise being that this tree caused a christmas town to be wiped off the world map. The event was so bad not even the grinch wanted to join. 2:26 Thats the big burger from scooby doo
Another one to add to the list!!! This one is VERY special and unique. It is the Stan room (from the actual game) and it has stan that can kill you (idk if it moves tho) I died on it though so I did not get to fully explore it.
1:58 That's the physics gun from Gmod, which is just a modded version of the gravity gun from Half Life so pretty close Also the computer "painter" thing I'm pretty sure is a reference to SCP-079, who's the same looking old PC with a robot voice that they keep behind a fence. The SCP messes with systems, and in the two most popular SCP games which it's in it messes with doors and screens in both of them, which is pretty much what he's doing in this game.

6:57
I have encountered this room before and got so much PTSD because it's the exact layout of the game P.T. A horror game that repeats and changes and gets scarier each room. I really loved P.T. years ago and them making a reference in this game is amazing and I was in complete shock when I found it so congrats on finding it too! :3
Tree people are the reference to ultrakill's third level of violence, where is also people with humans inside
The people tree one is a reference to the level 7-3 NO SOUND, NO MEMORY in ultrakill
the suicidal ppl
@@minos_prime837 yuh
0:40 it’s also good to note that you can actually find the mindscape document within the mindscape room itself, on the edge of one of the outer tiles.
I think the 3:22 have references from ultrakill in layer 7(violence) in map call “no sound no memory”
4:30 p.ainter got a new look
You can really see how much effort was put into this game. They even have the dedication to make warped rooms look detailed.
I've gotten the shrinking room, mindscape room, flesh rooms (in which a walldweller mauled me), and was there to spectate my friend getting some sort of volcano lava room thing-y. And i have played the game 5 times so far. Crazy
i swear man i just got 2 of the most rare currencies that give 500$ (yellow block), first pandemonium encounter and the bar lobby. i'm so lucky man
as of now i just got the mindscape room for a second time. cmon
6:42 me and my friend got this room. We thought it was supposed to be an underwater room and that the game had glitched💀
I got that room myself and that’s what I thought
same here!!😊
6:48 yay now I can go to the backrooms
2:19 bob reference
7:00 me and a friend found this room once and we agreed that it gave P.T vibes with repeating rooms and a floor above you where that women would look down
0:45 love how you can hear the song that plays when your buying new weapons (or whatever that is actually called)
Take care?
The Christmas tree with presents is from that game with tattletail monster furbies
Thanks for letting me know :)

4:14 he got updated and now has a real face, this room was not replaced tho its just stupid rare to see OG p.AI.nter and also its rare to see red text on good people door without entering
6:03 this is a reference to a game by Zeekers (the guy who made Lethal Company), called "Dead Seater".
True
1:25 This is the Place where MANY Mortals Perished to Froger's Rebound mind games, hence The Badge's name "An Ocean Of Blood" for surviving it, and The Iron Lung might be the Home of The Angler, hence the badge's name "Every Lung Has It's Iron" for surviving it.
And pandemonium’s theme is arrival sound (before activating his lock on hacks) it actually plays “it wakes” not sure if there’s anything else related with pande and Il
The last room with shrinking door could be a reference to Superliminal
Pretty sure it’s just a cool optical illusion, but could be.
I thought about the OG Willy Wonka movie when they first enter the factory tbh
@@xscottybugattix oh the classic , Alice in wonderland?
Once I saw a blank, unfinished room with a note on the wall that said “niko, make a straight small office type room with a few tipped over desks and shelves in here, add it to the roster when done”
Took screenshots :)
ze blue gun is the supercharged gravity gun from half-life 2 or Physics gun from Garry's mod (which uses the same model)
I knew it looked like it was the physics gun from Garry's mod
Physics gun uses a different model actually, so it’s the gravity gun.
I got a noclip room and mindscape back to back once, it was my first time seeing either and was really cool
1:00 it’s also playing music from ultrakill
ive been at the corpse tree room and ive never thought it was that rare lol💀

Mine was the mindscape... had no idea it was that rare...
As soon as this video started playing, I already knew this was a room. I have never seen before and probably it is the most rarest.
2:57 I found it in my run who got Frogger three times and I found a cool room that I forgot to take a screenshot it looks like the back rooms but blue carpet and White walls
3:22 ultra kill reference. It is a reference to that one layer with human birds and trees with blood
Edit: 6:39 is a reference to the movie "A Quiet Place."
5:00 or before didn’t bother to get it specific but the lore saus Sebastian can get the “good people” and the thing that controls the sight (I think?) out if we don’t get the crystal and that’s why good people try to stop you and says forgive me and stuff
So that’s why the eyefestation and the mimic say sorry when they attack\kill you
@@Watermelon_King1and that’s why till this day I will never understand why everyone likes Sebastian so much
@@jonsiel_333 he sucks
@@Watermelon_King1 I KNOW RIGHT
@@jonsiel_333 because on one hand, hes a human who was wrongly accused of murder, so was locked up and had experiments done to try and give him gills which turned him into the giant fish monster, but on the other hand he released every single entity as revenge and caused the site to go into lockdown. Kinda understandable.
i remember dying to search lights and turns out the only reason we have to fix the generators with searchlights is because Sebastian left the outdoor bulk head open letting it in
2:45 “but that’s just a theory, a game theory” - matpat
2:31 I can’t confirm or deny but i have had the same exact thought; it’s not the same, but it’s clearly a reference to the Statue of Freedom from the series. there are two other monument mythos references in the game: one being of Wonderland (aka the special tree land) in a containment cell; it’s a black void with all these white sticks (special trees) surrounding the area, there’s a chance you’ve seen it. the other is a line when an angler is coming: “Who are you? *I don’t know.* What are you made of? *Bad people.* (the original says “good people” but the reference is totally there)
4:11 The Painter is actually a pretty reminiscent reference to SCP Containment Breach, specifically to the conversation you have with SCP-079
The difference between Scp 079 and z-779 is that one is bad and one is good.
2:00 Gravity Gun and Dead Ringer? The protagonist is a FOOL for not taking these overpowered items.
Dead ringer is golden

1:02 I feel like this is what the document means when it says “The panopticon must hold.” As we know, Pandemonium is constantly decomposing, meaning he isn’t at his strongest. Possibly, when he can finally consume enough flesh to finally have its full body, it is extremely strong and could easily destroy the blacksite. Just a theory.
7:17 This room, if I'm not mistaken, is a reference to Silent Hill's never-ending hallway.
6:06 death from puss in boots theme
6:06 This is (possibly) a reference to one of Zeeker's games called "THE UPTURNED" Specifically the level named "The Funhouse"
Nooooo does no one know dead seater?? 😢
It was made by Zeeker
Upturn is peak.
i feel like its also alot like the dhmis scene here red gets stagefright
i heard its called “dead seater” which im assuming is different from the upturned but i may be wrong
no, the room you're thinking of is inspired by one of the rooms near the ending of dead seater, one of the previous games before the upturned. it's the room right before the ending cutscene
Im not sure when it was added or if he just missed it, but there's a document you find in the room at 2:13 that explains what the Christmas tree is, and it's probably my favourite document in the game.
At 5:59, the man that appers is the "umbrella man" from the ARG "Interloper".
I suggest you check out the ARG cus its really awesome.
It is a interloper reference, but he also has a bigger involvement in the story. He's the one that sebastian references when talking about the files after you die, and how he only lets sebasatian uncensor a few sentences at a time.
2:41 you can also get this if you die to stan
0:21 OH I GOT THIS BUT I FELL INTO VOID WHILE TRYING TO GET TUE DOCUMENT
3:18
I’m not sure about the reference, but I think it’s something from Dante’s Inferno.
Isnt the 7th layer violence?
Yes, thank you.
1:58 That’s the Physics Gun from Garry’s Mod.
Maybe it's the portal gun from portal 1
The Portal Gun looks WAY different.
I’m pretty sure those people trees are from ULTRAKILL as well. They are from the Violence layer, and are a reference to the trees of Suicide from Dante’s inferno. It’s like the only Ultrakill level where V1 uses a flashlight, so fitting that they added it
1:59 that's the fkn physics gun from gmod
3:47 this also appears to be a reference to ultrakill, as the level 7-3: NO SOUND, NO MEMORY also has the corpse trees
The blue gun or portal gun is from Portal 1 and 2 I think
its the physics gun from gmod
It’s the overcharged gravity gun from half life 2 nut I’m sure that’s what their refrencing
its the gravity gun from hl2 wym portal 😭

Its a Squiddle a type of creature you'll meet in the game its harmless as long as you: don't get close to it or shine your flashlight, or any light source at it

Another one to add to the list!!! This one is VERY special and unique. It is the Stan room (from the actual game) and it has stan that can kill you (idk if it moves tho) I died on it though so I did not get to fully explore it.
1:58 That's the physics gun from Gmod, which is just a modded version of the gravity gun from Half Life so pretty close
Also the computer "painter" thing I'm pretty sure is a reference to SCP-079, who's the same looking old PC with a robot voice that they keep behind a fence. The SCP messes with systems, and in the two most popular SCP games which it's in it messes with doors and screens in both of them, which is pretty much what he's doing in this game.
