I fell in love with Meatloaf when I was 16 and The bat out of hell album premiered. I have the album to this day.
And I agree, this is up there as one of the greatest love songs ever sang.

I was four when this song came out. I have listened to Meatloaf my whole life and I still cried watching your reaction. I used to sing this song to my neice when she was a baby and she would get tears in her eyes aswell. May I suggest Rock and roll dreams come through (Meatloaf)

This song came out when I was dating a girl for about 4 years. I was working about 30 hours a week as a courier, I was going to college and taking about 3-4 classes. I ran 4 miles a day, three days a week, did aerobic classes several times a week and lifted weights almost every day. I was at the top of my game.
But then I got into a terrible car accident while working. I almost died. At first, she stuck by me, but when she saw how long it would take for me to recover, she dumped me. I was broken!!
I listened to this song a LOT on TV while I was recovering. Eventually she came back and cried, begging me to get back with her. But all I could think was, I would LOVE to be back with her, but I will NOT sell out my future for someone I could NOT trust.
I thought to myself, I would do anything for love,...including taking her back,...but would not sell out my future children stability for that.
Eventually I met my (now) wife and have an incredible family and a wife who would LITTERALLY jump in front of a train to save me.
In fact she is just pulling in the driveway.

I feel very lucky to have Meatloaf as one of my first musical memories. My dad pretty much played Bat Out Of Hell as a llulaby :). May I suggest "All coming back to me now" by Meatloaf, if you enjoyed this song that is.
