  • How to set up Mod Organizer 2, BodySlide, and Outfit Studio "settings" to (output) outfit builds and batch builds.
    No retargeting folders, missing textures, and manual pulling over of files every time you want to build a new outfit or batch build.
    Note: I also use this fix with Skyrim AE, which works similarly for both games.

    I want to give a huge "Thank You" to the user and SS2 team member Sirlach for this fix! He is the one who figured out how to do this without retargeting folders.

    I am most grateful for his help and insight and for providing the actual fix.
    Special thanks to Scavenger Luke for the creation of the introduction and animations: / @scavengerluke4559
    I also want to thank Gopher and Gamer Poets for all their videos over the years. Without all their help, I might not have been able to enjoy all the modding content available from the modding community. Videos like this one are how I try to show gratitude to them and the community. Trying to help others as they helped me in enjoying all the content the modding community has chosen to share with us. 🙂

    So: create the empty mod, use it for the BodySlide output path and then put the game data path back to what it should be (instead of the MO2 overwrite folder).
    Working beautifully now, thanks so much!

    I rarely leave comments on the 'tube - but this, my man, was so helpful I'm obliged to say thanks. May not be as polished as GamerPoets or Gopher or any other of those well-known tutorialists' videos, but in contrast to these dudes, you explained it step by step, not so fast one can barely follow, and concisely, without any fuss about "all the other great features" or what else you could do with it.
    And then you even took the time to thoroughly explain the issue in a manner that even IT-Semi-Luddites like myself, who have only a very basic knowledge of the matter, can understand. I definitely appreciate your way of going about this a lot more than simply being told "do this, do that" and hope that "it just works" on my system. So thanks for sharing this. And iffen U have the time & nerve, please do a video as informative & concise as this one on generating LOD.
    Cheers & Rock On!

    Thanks a lot!! I just switched from Vortex to MO2 and I couldn't understand where my batch output files went after I clicked on build batch, now my problem is fixed and I also clearly understand what the overwrite function means.

    Hi there, it hadn't work for me. When I made that mod in Mo2 and gave it to the executables as you showed and start Bodyslide I have no textures, then I changed the path in the settings as you said build a personal preset an exited Bodyslide. Back in MO2 there is nothing in that special mod and nothing in override what I can drag into that empty mod and MO2 didn't give a warning. What did I wrong? Why do I get no textures?

    Thanks for the helpful video. I was already despairing.
    In the video you can see that you have an output MCM folder for the MCM Mod. Can MCM automatically write into it or do I always have to do this manually from the overwrite?

    • @RayBo
      @RayBo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to manually pull the changes over.

    Hey, im modding Skyrim, will this help me to be able to have different bodyslide builds pertaining to seperate mo2 profiles?

    • @RayBo
      @RayBo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I understand the question correctly, 🤔...... What I would try is: Where I say "create a mod," you would create a number of them, "Bodyslide Output 1.2.3.4.....," one for each profile. Then you would have to retarget to that "Output Mod" specific to each profile each time you did a build. After that, each time you wanted to view, modify or use in-game you would enable the "Output Mod" specific to that profile. Once you were done, you could even switch within the same profile by enabling or disabling for the one you wanted. You would still have to retarget as I described in the video to view or modify. All that said, I mostly do fo4, so I might not know everything about Skyrim. Still, hope this helps. I can understand why you ask this, but it was not the intent of this video. This would be a lot to remember for some users and easy to f-up. Your question is a bit more advanced but interesting. I may try it myself at some point. Good question!

    This Vid is typically very good when people have fullfilled your assumtions with creating this "empty mod" but if I now have done this I get a marker that says "not gulty gamefile" and so your Vid is from this point useless for me as I'm new to mo2 and don't understand what exactly to create an outputfolder for Bodyslide. And that is mostly so, when one wants to move to mo2, as you people often assume things that bloody beginners like me don't know yet and don't know where to find that info how to properly create that output file as the fundamental basis for following your tips.

    My entire instance on mo2 got fucked up trying to do this. My MO2 data was in an appdata folder that wasn't visible when looking up the outpath. After moving it, I can't get my instance back and don't know how to reverse it. Worst part is that I don't even know if this would've fixed my bodyslide issues. Sorry, venting bc there's nowhere else to do so.

      Guys, this is why I start my video with "I am not showing you how to install MO2." Sorry, but others do a better job at explaining the MO2 install "I am including links." Once your MO2 file system is in appdata it can't be moved. Likely, you will have to reinstall it? This link can help: th-cam.com/video/ruq6hQIAvB8/w-d-xo.html, same as this one: th-cam.com/video/zGBE1vGVRyo/w-d-xo.html In both cases, I use the alt-install instructions for MO2 as I have a game drive. I do not use my C:drive for modding. Modding these games work better, in my opinion not being installed on the windows drive. Now, MO2 will still put some default files into the AppData, but as the 2 videos, they show an alt install with all the modding and profile put in a different file path. These are the videos I use when anytime I build a new computer/upgrade and reinstall MO2. The bodyslide fix here isn't the problem, it is the underlying MO2 install.

      @@RayBo ah ok it was unclear what this was fixing. To be fair tho, it was already installed, and was looking for a fix which are generally unclear and trial and error is what i do. I had a modded armor not working with the body. So i thought maybe changing the outpath might affect if it would actually show in game. But yea, this isnt an install issue at the very least, well now it is. Thanks for the helpful reply either way.
