    When I first saw Emily I thought she looks familiar, I have seen her channel before. Really hope they stick to the new diet change, it will be so much better for Cheyenne, and the reward will be a much more alert Birdie for training and overall happiness, and definitely better skin and feathers. Great job as always Jamie and Dave, Thanks for taking us along.

    This reminds me a bit of my early training with my green cheek. He was 7 years old and had always been clipped but not severely. He could fly pretty good but didn't really want to. I felt so proud when I started getting longer and longer flights. He's a pro now and will come to me from 2 rooms away.

    I don’t know if this question was ever asked before, but how do you train two birds (budgies) in pairs. Our first is our tough untrainable street bird that will fly to you only if millet is seen. Our second bird (born finger trained) is hesitant to do it without the first one bullying him. We’ve tried locking them individually but they cry for each other. We are stuck.

    inspired by target training, I started it to have more play time with my Meyers. She took to it. Thanks. A funny side-- I used a chop stick for target training. I live in the SF bay area, so I eat asian food with chops sticks. When I set them on the side of the bowl the Meyers comes over and taps the end. And then of course, she gets a click and a treat. She likes the treats; she seems to consider the click an annoyance to tolerate

    I'm curious if there are any more mass produced pellets that are more available for those of us that can't afford shipping costs that you would recommend to suppliment chop? So far I've been using Zupreem or Rowdybush because it is available near me (Harrison's when I can afford shipping, but it's usually more expensive to ship than the pellets themselves cost, I've also tried Tops but it is just as hard to get and my budgie had zero interest, even when powdering it and mixing it with stuff he likes 😅). My budgie loves chop but I can't seem to get him interested in pellets at all.

    • @twylenb
      @twylenb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully it isn't the blatant abuse kind, like leaving a child in a room alone with loud noises, forcing them to wear shirt tags if it makes them uncomfortable to the point of a melt/shutdown.
      Us autistic people are not puzzles to fix like the hate group Autism Speaks thinks. We are humans with different needs than others.
      The world needs to be more willing to accept safe coping behaviors like stimming instead of seeing it as monstrous. And if people don't feel comfortable with eye contact, they should have to do it. They can let the other person know in the conversation and just have their body face towards them. Masking is a toxic behavior for most of us.

    • @EclecticallyEccentric
      @EclecticallyEccentric 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ABA therapy is training autistic children to be easier for neurotypicals to manage , not actually to help them. There's a reason most autistic adults don't support ABA.

    Alright, I'm sorry to ask, but my uncle has a macaw that intentionally makes really really loud calls continuously. I'm sure diet has something to do with it, but it could be more than that and he's rather desperate. Do you have any videos of working with any birds with similar problems? For the record I have tried looking for myself through your videos, but I must have missed it. 😥

    • @MrEfaithm
      @MrEfaithm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So I am no expert, but my understanding from Jamie is that the higher sugar quantity in the commonly available bird seeds can lead to hyper behaviour in parrots. I could not double check, but I think they talk about it in this video th-cam.com/video/voNMetNh6BE/w-d-xo.html . Also, lack of enrichment, attention and changes in hormone might be the causes of it too. And if that's the case, clicker training is a great way to start addressing most of those problems in addition to a healthy diet.

    • @dennagrey8055

      Does he get attention for screaming? Even someone yelling back, "shut up!" The bird may consider getting wanted attention. Giving attention and/or treats for non-screaming voculatizons while also ignoring screaming can make a big difference over time.
