  • Track Day!
    The long await trip to the asphalt.. well the street is asphalt too, and some concrete in areas….. You get what I mean dammit!
    It was so much fun to get out and ride this KTM 690 SMC R to its full potential! Or at least my novice potential.. I learned so much about the bike, how to ride better, how to lean and NOT put my foot out, so many good things!
    If you have any questions about your first track day or the track in general, leave a comment below!

    This is awesome, if I actually manage to get a 701 or SMCR next year I'm definitely hitting a track!

      Hell yeah! Just be careful, it’s addicting.. already planning the next day! I’m dropping a video soon on the cost of this, so you can see first hand what I spent money on and the total for this day!

    Welcome to the track! Careful, it will become a addiction!! If you get a chance, try riding on a cart track, they are generally about 1/3 the cost, slower speeds but just as much fun! Got my 690 in mid July, 2500 miles and 4 kart track days done so far, best bike I have ever owned! Love the channel, keep it up!

      Thanks Tom! It seriously is addicting.. that’s all I want to do now, riding on the street just dosent compare! And I have yet to look at those.. I’m sure the tight corners, short straights make it great for our bikes!
      Hell yeah they are damn good motorcycles, I love mine and just getting to the 2k mile mark haha you’ve done quite a lot more than me!

      You are exactly right on these being the most fun bikes out there! I got mine new this year in February and already have almost 10k miles one it. No track days yet tho 😔

    Awsome ride bro. Love this build series. Do u have any supermoto track out there.

    • @LifeWellRidden

      Thanks man! And not that I have found, even road tracks are rare.. this one was short enough in sections to be competitive but the straights I couldn’t keep up hahah

      Thank you! And they are soo much fun! I would highlky suggest the Novice group even if you are a lot morew skilled than I am because you can learn so much and take it at your own pace

      @@LifeWellRidden well I guess that's the good part of riding alone. I AM ALWAYS THE BEST AND FASTEST rider in my group lol 😂🤣
      But yeah I def would want to do that as I have never rode a track. Been riding dirtbikes since I was 5 but track is a whole nother works that I know 💩 about

    Your quickshifter seems so buttery compared to mine. Have you done any mods to it? Or to the shifting, like the shift kit? I get so many false neutrals I’m scared to track it.

    • @LifeWellRidden
      @LifeWellRidden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have done nothing to it, the bike has a PCV with a tune from Rottweiler Performance but that’s it.. I have had trouble on the street but honestly, I just use my foot like it’s made of lead 🤣 super aggressive with the up shifting haha

    • @groundskeeperwilly864
      @groundskeeperwilly864 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LifeWellRidden thanks dude. I’m rolling pretty much same as you. Rotty intake, pcv, sas delete, “custom” fmf 4.1. I did dyno it tho, and they squeaked a couple more horsies and smoother lower rpm response over the rotty map.

    • @LifeWellRidden
      @LifeWellRidden  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@groundskeeperwilly864 that’s the dream for me! The intake and SAS is next for sure but wish I had a place in IL to custom tune.. there is only one shop (that I have found so far) and they are not that reliable..

    • @jeldful
      @jeldful ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LifeWellRidden why not bring it to ktm shop and let them map it? Thats what im going to do won’t even need a pcv.

    • @LifeWellRidden
      @LifeWellRidden  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeldful that’s a thought of mine but at the time I figured a PCV would be a good route.. I know little on the tuning game of a motorcycle haha 🤣

    Curious about your decision to not use QS.
    I know we got that occasional False N problem is that the reason for not using it

    • @LifeWellRidden
      @LifeWellRidden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      About the only time I used it was on the straights but in all honesty, the first couple laps I was so focused on the lean angle/hitting the apex/learning the track, I just reverted back to my old clutch usage haha as the day went on I got more comfortable with the track, knew my lines and understood what gear to be in so I could then use WOT and the QS
