I have found with the shoe box; I use a molded cups that go into the box. That helps and I put a 2 x 10 x 6 under the shoe box it is a little larger than the box so when they do eat what spills on the wood, they pick through it. It saves some from going throw the cage. Nice set up
@@jerryhicks8011 one end has boards that we can remove. Then we have a piece of wood that is roughly the shape of the interior that we put on a pole and push them to the other end. Without that it would be a pain to get them out to harvest.

Did you have any type of tarp on the tractor for the weather?
Yes. It covers a little over half of the tractor, and is on whenever quail are in there.
How do you get them in and out of the tractor, they will certainly run to the other end when you try :)

How does the eggs roll out for you to get ?
The floor is slightly slanted so the eggs just roll down.
