    When the quail eggs hatch, should I give them vitamins, and what type of feed do we give them and can we make them? What type of vitamin do we use and when do we stop using it?

      @@splitarrowfarm oh one more thing. Could you do a video on how you harvest them? And Rabbits too. Maybe not show anything *unpleasant* but at least show the process and what you use ect

    Interesting! Lots of good information! I wonder how hardy these little birds are? My family is looking to relocate and it seems we’re going 5h north of where we currently are… we live in Canada.. so it can get extremely cold.. I don’t think they would be in a cage outside. The water they need would be a frozen block… I definitely have a lot of reading ahead of me. Hopefully I can build them a warm little log cabin like housing? I don’t know haha

    If you have male quail and pick up the eggs daily.... how do you make sure the egg is fertalized so you don't eat it? Or can you eat it as a normal egg?

    I haven’t been able to find any hatching coturnix quail eggs, most of the ones I see are blown or had a hole drilled at the bottom and sold for arts and crafts.

      Oh no. Did you try McMurray’s Hatchery I believe they have some. It looks like they are sold out right now but I would try checking them out in the future. Best of luck!

    Quail do not go broody and hatch their own eggs. This is why you can raise them in urban areas. If you get a broody hen, she is not likely to sit on them through hatch.

      Try with a Brody chicken for hatching I'm going to

      In a aviary they can get broody though

    • @erikjohnson9223
      @erikjohnson9223 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Coturnix are domesticated and (like most chicken breeds) less likely to raise their young. Given space and cover, North American species, like wild pheasants or partridge in an aviary, will go broody. Both types can be raised artificially with incubators and a warm "brooding box" for the chicks. They aren't as dependent on their parents as are most songbirds. Some species (humans, domestic rabbits, robbins...) are born helpless; others can run and feed themselves shortly after birth (hares, megapodes, chickens and quail).
