To complement their performances at Carnegie Hall, select members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra led master classes on February 22, 2018. Participating young artists-alumni of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) and NYO2-had the opportunity to perform and work with these world-renowned musicians in a one-on-one setting in Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing. You dont need to be great trumpeter at the moment to be the best teacher.
They both need some dynamic contrast between the dancing, jumping, articulated, arpeggiated passages and the slurred, lyrical passages. That makes the puppet sound as though he is being manipulated cleverly and is more interesting.
Likely a recording issue not playing
@@maxjonak6742 That is a problem I know. It makes the videos less effective as examples of how to play an excerpt or etude.
One of the biggest factors among many brass players which lessens the expressiveness of their playing is the lack of effective dynamic contrast, especially real piano and pianissimo.
2:27 he has too much pride and unfortunately the student plays better than the teacher.
That’s what I was thinking
Študent 1, Hans 🤣🤣🤣
The student sounds better LOL
Donald Creech Hans Peter Schuh is an amazing trumpeter who is used to the big concert halls. I have already heard him playing live at concert and there sounded much better than on this recording...
That's a purely acoustical effect of the recording, because the student plays away from the mic, whereas Hans Peter Schuh plays more or less directly into the mic.
Teacher needs to retire
