Several years ago I (then 70 m) fell & had reconstructive knee surgery on the right knee. I had to walk with a cane. I had to have a second surgery to try to improve the knee (it did) but while I was recovering I was walking in a cast. I still need the cane to hobble about.
I had an appointment with my surgeon to gage progress. The office was in a mall medical tower. Since my knee was immobile I had to use a service that provided rides. Concluding the appointment I called for the pick up ride. I then limped to the glass enclosed entrance/exit area & flopped into a seat. A young Mom, with a biddy baby, asked if I was ok. I assured her I was fine & we began chatting as she too was waiting for a pick up by her husband.
Abruptly, a kid tried to grab my cane. He failed & tried again. He failed & he was astonished. He yelled at me to let go. I snorted & refused. This was followed by hollers of rage. Karen looked up from her phone & in no uncertain terms told me to give my cane to her yelling son. I made it clear that was never going to happen. Karen was shocked & angered at my refusal. She narrowed her eyes & stared at me. I was wearing baggy sweat pants, over my cast, along with old comfy sweatshirt under a jacket. She then accused me a being a beggar who had come to the Mall to panhandle & trick people.
At this point the young mom spoke up for me noting she had seen me limping. Things got very dark. The young mom was Latin & Karen went very racial & cruel. Many evil & shocking things were said. Suddenly, two police arrived. They had resolved some issues in the mall & were returning to their squad. They asked what was going on & Karen spewed out lies. I was a faker who grabbed her son’s toy & then tried to grab something else. The Young mom was a kidnapper because the baby was too white to be hers. The police talked to the young mom who told the awful things Karen had said to her. The cops asked me. I pulled up the sweat pants leg to show the start of my ankle to thigh cast. The police turned to Karen & told her to leave NOW or this conversation would continue at the police station. Karen was mad & muttered pointless threats. Her son yelled again he wanted my cane but they both left. The police apologized & asked for contact information in case Karen contacted their CO. Young Mom & I agreed. At this point my Minibus arrived. I left questioning human nature.

The fake "I know the owner card" is always a joy to witness when it gets declined. A few years back a car hit my neighbour's parked vehicle. The driver left but when I (and some other good samaritans) caught up to him as he drove back into the area, he tried to tell me not to worry as "he knew the owner and he will make it right." Problem was, I knew the owner and offending driver clearly didn't. He got lucky though because he pulled a different card the police chose to partially accept, so they didn't pursue impairment charges; they only dealt with ensuring the crash was documented, and facilitating the exchange of driver/owner information.
To their credit, though, there was a complication wherein the driver and passenger switched seats before the police arrived and other witnesses got them mixed up. The bonus was the passenger was a learner and had to be supervised by a sober person with a valid license. Total gong show.

I would amaze you how many times we found parents placing their kids in our vehicles, everything from quads to tractors. And almost all of them were confused on why we wouldn't want children playing on our vehicles and equipment and there were a lot to argue that if we didn't want them then we shouldn't let them see it and it would just be parked in the parking lot. I got trouble for once pointing out that there are vehicles from other guests in the parking lot for the lady to go put her son in that if she wants them looking like he's driving. This world has ALWAYS had them. It really hasnt changed at all...
The guy who LITERALLY started the Witch Hunts including the Salem Witch Trials was a legitimate Textbook example of an Incel.
In particular, Heinrich Kramer who wrote the book Malleus Maleficarum (Hammer of Witches) in 1487.
Church tried to stop that pretty damn hard initially, considering it was outright Heresy, implying that GOD was not all-powerful and that any supernatural "gifts" were the spawn of Satan.

Whatever religion you choose to follow should be done for YOU and nobody else. And I always tell anyone if they want to follow a good example of how a real Christian acts, to look at Weird Al Yankovic. While he has mentioned his religion occasionally in context (which is actually why none of his lyrics contain violent context or dirty words), he has always been a firm believer in letting others make their own choices as well, and he never preaches his beliefs to anyone.

Story 3: Manager sounds similar to the one I replaced. When I was an ASM (assistant store manager) I was pulled to run a store because the store manager there was so bad that the ENTIRE staff was ready to walk out. This was only done because I already HAD experience running a store (my first store) as an ASM and knew the ins and outs since I'd been with the company 6 years up to that point. So I was "transferred" to that store to run it, but was still on my first stores payroll listing. When I was there, I had several interactions with customers who were relieved that the other manager was gone. In fact, I had one lady ask if I was new and when I introduced myself as the acting manager inline to get the store, she said "oh, you mean that brown haired btch isn't here anymore? Great, I might start coming back on the regular now."
Long story short, because my first store didn't promote me and brought in someone from outside who couldn't cut it, that manager left after 3 1/2 months (3 weeks of that so was on a pre-approved vacation from when she was at another store) and I had to run 2 stores as an ASM for 2 months (after already running the other store as an ASM for 1 month) before I finally got a promotion.
Oh, I also had to go back and help my first store do inventory prep because literally only me and the receiving manager knew how to do it and they used the receiving manager as a whipping horse to do things she wasn't supposed to be doing.
All of this done with no bonus, no thank you, no nothing.

Story 3 - I'd be more impressed with the salon owner if they hadn't waited until the accountant contacted her. It sounded like this happened over the course of a few months, and an attentive owner would have noticed problems with the drop in bookings, etc right away. The assistant manager should have contacted the owner himself instead of pitching a fit and quitting, especially with the smoking.

The first Karen should’ve been arrested for attempted grand theft of a snowmobile.

Re the Nail Salon Story: You would be surprised what some people can get away with when the owners are miles away and clueless. My coworker (who is salaried at 40 hours a week, has full medical and dental benefits, and takes FOUR paid vacations a year) regularly invites a friend over to watch ball games on a flat screen TV in an area that has been locked up since the Corona debacle. He swims laps (on company time ) every day in the property pool and soaks in the hot tub after. He eats lunch in a back office while ON the clock so that he can clock out for an hour later and leave property without any worries. His only duty that seems to get monitored at all is ordering monthly supplies, and he has gone on vacation more than once without doing THAT before he left! Meanwhile, I (a part-time grunt who works holidays, covers all of his vacations, and does all of the duties he is SUPPOSED TO DO) have no benefits, no PTO, no thank yous, and have to live with my grown son for lack of a decent paycheck.

There are so many places hiring right now, start looking for something new, as soon as you find somewhere that appreciates you put in that 2 week notice, or just quit. They will realize what they had once you're gone.

@@philiptownsend4026 I don't drive, and I moved in with my son just prior to the lockdown because of health problems. But if they don't at least cut this A-hole's hours to match mine, I may be willing to take a long bus ride to greener pastures.

I think I have the bird skull necklace mentioned in the story. If so it's a gold skull with red eyes with a small chain for the necklace.

I agree on the Last story, mother was definitely trying to steal the necklace, and possibly the cane for herself.

Oh that last story was good… As an atheist myself, I’m surprised that woman would claim she’s a Christian just to get a necklace for her kid. I could never do that, I’d feel dirty… I’ve seen lots of unique jewelry on people I’ve liked, I just ask them where they got it. Most of the time they’ll tell you. Or here’s a thought, Google it! What a weird woman! And then to get in a fight about her cane?! I’ve had bad knees since I was 19… Sometimes young people need canes for whatever reason. Just because they’re young doesn’t mean they can’t have joint or bone issues. Give it up, Karen 🙄
