Wellness Practices for Autumn and Spring

  • Spring and Autumn are great moments of the year for all types of cleanses. As Nature enters its period of transformation, we can renew our own internal ecosystem. Aligning ourselves with the macrocosmic change of energies, will give us the momentum to transform our own microcosm.
    Let’s begin with cleanses. The idea is to clean your home, your work space and any other space that you spend time in. Take out, donate, discard, recycle and make space. Organize y then change some things around. Add something special to each space; a touch a beauty. And then do the same thing inside. This is the perfect moment for detoxes. Going through a detox process will help you flush out toxins and other harmful substances we tend to accumulate during winter and summer. This is the time for intestinal and liver detoxes, skin cleanses, salt water baths, saunas, and any other process or ritual that helps rid yourself of anything noxious. Engage in physical activities and move your body.
    In your yoga practice, cultivate the opening and movement of the hips and chest. Practice namaskars or salutations to the Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Include energetic purges and deep breathing exercises to let go of old or stagnant energy. At the same time look for balance in your practices and in your actions, in order to not get lost in all of the movement.
    This is the time for rituals that honor the Earth, the changing of the light and transformation, in all of its facets. Synchronize with the Sun. Plant your intentions to reset your internal compass. Whether you’re in the North or the South, take this time to recreate yourself. The changing of the light can help you see your life in a different way, create a different version of yourself and open a new cycle in your life.
