Those are all really cool features, but I have to say the "check in" feature is something I'm incredibly interested in. With family that often comes and goes, it's nice to have a feature that allows you to automatically notify family/friends when you get to your destination. Don't know how many times I've forgotten to text my parents after I got home from visiting with them.
This would be useful for my family as well, especially if they are traveling at night or over distances that aren't the norm.
Set a reminder
You forget to let your folks know you've arrived? How? That's SOP in my family to call. You wouldn't want us calling asking why you didn't call...
That isn’t a new feature. Uber and Lyft lets you tell people your ETA. Sad to believe that’s the only important feature for you

The deep red color for the clock can be turned off if you dont want it to switch to that at night when it's dark. Just turn it off in settings under standby.

These kind of features and customization options were part of why I liked android so I’m happy I don’t have to give up fun features and more customization, and I get the iPhones privacy features. If they only had an iPhone with a tiny stylus I’d be happy, I’m an artist and I loved the Samsung note series.
exactly! stylus and ultra zoom is what i really wanted but couldnt go for s23 ultra but loving the iPhone 14plus 256 nonetheless

@seb3661 You might not like them or find absolutely any use in them, but I can guarantee there are MANY users will find this video outstanding. The fact that Apple is allowing more users to have more control over their devices is a huge step with each update. All I'm saying is that you might not find anything useful or think some are completely either nonsense or a waste of time, but it could be amazing for someone else.
I love custom call profiles and name drop. I do remember them from the keynote.

Been debating switching to iPhone from Android recently. Mainly because everyone I know uses iPhone now, and iphone and android don't like to text each other well. The iOS17 update looks good, and apple moving to usb-c for the 15 sounds nice too. I think the only thing I'm still iffy on, is the fact I can't have a fully clean home screen (eg. on my s21+ all I have are: google search bar up top; phone, text, chrome, gmail, and app folders/library button. And there's the slide out widget I've thrown my most used apps on ofc).
You described it pretty well, that moving icons where I want is the only thing keeping me from switching over lol. I have been using my s21 ultra since it came out and it hasnt slowed down at all, it works well, everyone in my family (and friends) have iphone, so I do want to give it a try for once but not being able to clean up the home screen will make me little mad lol
You can! Just move icons to library and you’ll have a clean home screen
@@iamCrwly I'll have to look into it more. The people I've asked said they either can't or don't know how. It's a silly thing, but I just like having a clean homescreen (not lockscreen like people thought when I talked to them) and everything out of the way.
@dudeisawesome7202 another reason I'm considering it, is that our 21's will be the oldest phones that Samsung will give the next OS update (android 14) to. Meaning if we want to keep getting the latest OS updates, we'll have to buy a new phone next year to stay in the loop (for android 15). Whereas Apple gives updates to phones for up to 5-6 years, instead of 3.

Yes but with the updates in android they perform way bay in long term 😟(3-4 years that’s what at least consumers use the phone). I just don’t wanna buy multiple phones in couple of years, for a better software experience ios stands out ( I am referring to only operating system). Yes apple releases features slowly but they mostly get f**ked up with bugs and don’t spoil user experience. Samsung flagship devices are the only better phones in android world. Pixel will be f**king up until their Tensor chips are not manufactured by Samsung. I really wanted to buy the pixel phone because of Tensor dropped it and switched to ios from android. Unlike Android ios needs a bit more work around to get android like customisation without any software updates🤪🤪.

The check-in feature is cool. Google's Safety app also has a similar feature but only for emergency contacts. Google can learn from iOS
