This is by far the most underrated video game franchise. Every time I’ve talked to someone about the PlayStation era they knew Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank but then they stop knowing when I bring up Sly and I just think it’s so devastating because Sly was my entire childhood. Especially the second one! I played that one countless times. This is the series that got me into video games. I know what you mean when you said this series shaped your personality! It’s a shame that it ended the way it did, but they will still always have the most special place in my heart.
@@Gio-pb5rm I wonder the same thing! But then I see weird pieces of media like the collaboration they did with MTV and it just feels so strange that more people didn’t grow up with this franchise. It’s so sad!
Ditto, Its the game that sparked my passion for games. I hope I get to see the Gang back together in the future, regardless of what story choices they make!
Interestingly enough, where I'm from, being Finland, Sly Cooper was extremely popular to the point that almost every kid knew about him. And that's purely because Sly Cooper was one of the few triple-A kids' games that were actually fully dubbed into the language. Barely anyone cared about Ratchet and no one knew Jak. (To clarify, only the second and third games got a dub but that gave enough popularity to the franchise for the first game to be pretty well known as well.)
I think I actually remember that Sly got a Swedish dub as well! Shame that us smaller and obscure euro-kid fans couldn't give them enough recognition to be in the greats as Ratchet and Jak who made it big in the US... maybe it's just how it goes when one funny animal mascot's got guns, and the other one just has charm.
Eyy another Finnish Sly fan here. I agree with everything you said, seeing as almost everyone of my friends knows about the Sly franchise through one way or another
I love that in Sly 1, across the many, many times that Sly asks Carmelita out to dinner, dancing, ect, her response is never anything like "Not a chance", or "Not in a million years, ringtail." Instead it's always some variation of, "Only once you're in jail." Like she was never actually rejecting him, she just wanted to catch him first.
Sly 1 is amazing. Always be in my heart. 💙 I didn't realize as a kid, Sly ultimately became allies with men who were involved in his fathers murder... Dimitri, Panda King. Looking back, it's a kids game so they probably assumed your kid didn't catch on. (They didn't)
Sly Cooper is a series that reminds me of what I feel the gaming industry lacks nowadays. So many games today seem to just take inspiration from ONLY other games, instead of maybe taking inspirations from other medias as what this series does according to your review, hence why we get so many games that are like "this game is a knock-off of that game or that game is a spiritual successor to this game."
Sly 1 is one of the most perfectly paced games I ever played. It's short enough where you can sit down in the evening and just blast through the whole thing without it wearing out its welcome. I usually do it once a year. The sequels expanded the gameplay into what's basically anthro Assassin's Creed (years before AC was even a thing), but Sly 1 is just unmatched when it comes to simple, comfy platforming fun. Best soundtrack in the franchise, too.
Ey, wasn't expecting new Sly videos so soon after Jak, love to see it! Sly 1 is such a great game. I think it's a bit of a shame that it's not talked about nearly the same amount as its sequels, because it's such a well put together first entry. Everything you talked about with the tone, charm, and character were all spot on. It has such a distinct personality that makes it stand out. The moment to moment gameplay may be fairly simple, but I don't think enough credit goes toward how captivating and cinematic the level design is. It's a clear evolution of Crash's formula. Levels don't feel like narrow hallways chock full of hazards, they now feel like slices of a world placed in a linear fashion, with plenty of cinematic camera angles to enhance the thevious moves you'll be pulling off. Also, jumping and hitting the O button just never gets old, it's inherently satisfying every time, what else can I say? (However there were too many mini game levels which kinda clashed with the games vision, and just weren't very fun, an aspect that never left the series unfortunately). Really looking forward to the Sly 2 vid, as it's a game I personally dislike for a wide range of reasons, so I'm excited to hear what you love so much about it!
Sly 1 is really good and I appreciate it. However I love the formula of 2 onwards a lot more. It feels more like it's own thing, not that Sly 1 isn't. There's a lot of reasons I love Sly 2 (Writing, aesthetic, exploring the hub world) but I think one of my biggest reasons would be how the heists are structured. I love that each area is you going through all the steps of doing a heist and dealing with whatever complications come along with that. I really feels as if I'm playing through something like Ocean's Eleven. I still like Sly 1 a lot though. The only game I actually dislike is Thieves in Time.
Very few franchises make me as excited as the Sly Cooper franchise. It's also one of the few games that almost everyone in family played through and beat and we could all joke about and talk with each other about. It's nice to see him getting some well earned praise.
Played and completed Sly 1 for the first time last week and it's an instant classic. I can't wait to play 2 and 3 as well since I got the trilogy collection!
If only sanzaru didn't make that mid ass game with a trash story while having no clear direction afterwards. They were utter fools to even think putting a cliffhanger like that would be a good idea with the next generation consoles on the horizon.
@@TerrorOfTalos I mean Shitzaru Games was a struggling studio that only was hired to do ports, what better way to get paid more by forcing the publisher that contracted them for a single major project to greenlit a sequel to said project story purposefully left unfinished
Out of the 4 Sly games, I have the least experience with the first one. It's amazing to see how much Sucker Punch got right with the franchise on their first try. Such a shame the Sly franchise hasn't gotten the same treatment like Ratchet & Clank has, but it's good to see that after all these years there are still die hard fans like you out there!
I personally think that if Sly Cooper were to get a new game now days it will have a better chance of getting the recognition it deserves because of two things: 1) it's easier to market and 2) Sucker Punch is now known due to Ghost of Tsushima, although I feel like the best chance Sly Cooper has to attract a lot of new audiences is either through a Remake or Reboot
I think the first Sly is one of the best 3d platformers. I love how the levels are short and concise. They never over stay their welcome or overwhelm you with thousands of collectables. Which fixed the problem of the bloated 3D platformers we had at the end of the N64/PS1 generation like DK64 and Banjo Tooie. It's sad that as the PS2 generation went on the 3D platformer genre went through the same blaoted collectathon problem all over again.
Glad to see Sly is getting more love these days. I love it and even though Sly 2 is the best game, I will always have a special place for Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus
Great to see so much love for Sly these days. I was 8 when Sly 2 came out and I was instantly hooked, it is to this day my favourite game. Whether on PS2, the Sly Collection on PS3 and now RPCS3 on PC, I have been playing these games for 18 years. Even my PSN avatar hasn't changed from PS3 to PS5. Happy birthday Sly.
Favorite game franchise ever, I can literally run though all of them in about 2 and a half days now 😂 I was stuck on clockwerk as a kid for like 4 months
Sly aged so amazing I got my lil bro to love it and he’s 12 so he’s the fortnite super smash generation AND my girl and she was never a gamer before we were together. Sly is just a well made and addictive game you can play over and comeback too to scratch that itch I got as a kid
The Sly Cooper games, Jack and Daxter, and the ratchet and clank games. These were the games that made my childhood fun. I’m autistic so I’m not the most social person in the world. because of that some aspects of my childhood were very lonely. These games especially sly Cooper, how to give me a laugh and thrill when I needed it.
Wow so random. I decided to search this game up because I hadn't thought about it in forever and there's an amazing retrospective posted 3 hours ago. Well done.
I'm glad there is someone out there that loves these games as much as I do. This game was my childhood. I always felt lonely in my love for this series.
When I was younger, my mom took my brother and I to a gamestop one day and we both were allowed to pick out two games for our Playstation 2 system. I ended up buying Pac Man World 3 (which I think is okay but played very little of) and my brother picked out a brand newer game, Sly Raccoon. I ended up playing Sly with him far more than I did Pac Man World and it was honestly a fantastic pick that my brother got that day. The game was fun, challenging, unique, distinctive… and overall a blast. Its quite sad that Sly was one of Playstation’s forgotten IPs as Ratchet & Clank, Crash Bandicoot and Sora (from Kingdom Hearts) would end up becoming staples of the early Playstation life cycle… and Sly would soon be forgotten. However I’m so happy a fanbase and people still love these games exist. I still remember how excited I was back in 2016 when I thought the fan trailer for a Sly Raccoon movie was actually going to be real, but I’m sad it never came into fruition. And same goes for Sly being in Smash. But thanks J for the incredible review about my favourite theiving raccoon for his 20th anniversary! Cannot wait for you to tackle Sly 2 (the best in the series!)
It's actually criminal that Sly Cooper does not get shown the kind of love that its contemporaries receive. Literally Crash, Jak, Ratchet & Clank, and Spyro get so much praise and attention, and if you're lucky, you get entire remakes, but Sly has much more personality and charm that most gaming series out there, hell, even more than most Nintendo titles, and has a cast so unique that it could rival, or hell, maybe even put the Blue Blur himself to shame. I truly felt every word you said in this video's preamble, as Sly was also a core childhood game for me, but it failed to last its effect on me as the landscape of gaming was swarmed with many new titles with great plots and characters. I think that Sly's biggest issue was not receiving many installments throughout the 20 years it's been around.
@@ghost656metal8jak doesn’t get love and attention, what planet are you on? Many PlayStation gamers don’t even know what Jak is. Crash and Spyro are the ones that originated from PlayStation that went full blown into stardom. Ratchet is pretty niche.
@@keeferkifflom360 What planet are you on?, If you think most PlayStation gamers don’t even know what Jak is, Jak and Daxter 1, sold almost 10 times the amount that Sly 1 did, and even if you don't add the sales numbers for all of the Jak and Daxter spin off games, the Jak and Daxter trilogy sold more than the 4 Sly Cooper games did, but you can continue to live in ignorance and pretend the Sly Cooper games are loved more than the Jak and Daxter games.
Funny story with Sly Cooper 2 When I played these games, I was not only very young and, also, the internet wasn't really a thing yet. As such, I thought that the game's locations (Paris, India, Prague, Canada, etc.) really were just like the game. Fast forward a couple of years, I went to Paris on vacation. Remember, I was still just a kid... I was completely baffled by what I saw, I thought it looked almost nothing like the game! Sly Cooper 2 and 3 were an enormous part of my childhood and to this day I mention Sly Cooper as the perfect example on how to write a story that appeals to all demographics while maintaining depth... and, of course, satisfying gameplay, music, art direction, the works.
Level design, art design, a joy to play and listen to... the Sly games really did have it all, and then ended up playing Second Fiddle to other Sucker Punch successes with half it's charm. That's just how it goes, sometimes... though at the very least I had TWO other Sly-fans at my side, since I played it alongside some friends of mine. We were not alone! ... Even if I personally don't remember Ms Ruby being that complex to beat, maybe because I was just used to such minigames. Heck, it is the only boss fight I DO remember, unlike boss battles in latter games.
only those who played this as a child know how magical these 3 games were... sly 3 is my favorite game ever, I don't know how many hours I've spent in this game but it was absolutely worth it. Good to watch a video about it and see so many people commenting how sly games had also changed their lives.
I remember when Sly 1 came out and I loved playing the kiosk demo at my local Walmart everytime my mom took me shopping. Sadly never actually owned a copy because I didn't own a PS2 until long after the system was discontinued. Maybe someday I'll look into buying a used copy of the game to finally play it to completion.
Never thought you'd do another Sly video, your OG Sly reviews are a classic. As far as Sly goes, it's one if not the most underrated franchise ever. Nobody even talks about this franchise when it comes to mascots. It's always Jak & Dexter or Ratchet & Clank. Nobody ever gives Sly the respect the franchise deserves. It also makes me mad that Clockwerk only had 1 true game. He was in Sly 2 but, it wasn't him.
As a person who experienced Sly Cooper with 3 in 1 collection on PS3 that a friend loan to me, I loved it more than Ratchet and Clank that my mother got me when she got me the PS3. I fell in love with the art style as it did indeed feel like I was watching a cartoon. I never beat any of them but I feel like this is my second favorite game franchise on Playstation next to Uncharted series that I also got with my PS3. To hear you express your love and fondness for Sly Cooper was fun to watch. I can tell you have great passion for it and when I discovered your channel through your TMNT videos, I was surprised to see you covered Sly Cooper. I can’t wait for you to talk about Sly 2. I think more people should play the games and the best way is just lending it to a friend, that’s how I got into by chance and think it’s an effective method. Another amazing retrospective, J. Have a nice day/evening.
Its a special game for me because I used to play this game a lot as a kid with a friend who had to move across the country later because his dad died of cancer... We still meet up every once in a while and most of the time we just play the sly games
this game checked off so many boxes for me as a child, it really was a jumping off point for so many things i'm still interested in today. stealth, heist films, travelling around the world, charming characters, family lineage. this franchise had it all.
This franchis to this day is my favorite of all time. The memories and nostalgia are all well deserved i have been playing this franchise for almost 20 years and it almost brings me to tears at where did the time go
That bit about being the only kid who even played Sly really hit me, me and my twin brother played all 3 of the PS2 titles growing up together and separately on our own time over and over and not once did either of us meet other kids who even knew what Sly was. I'll never forget that day where we got Sly 3 and loved it so much we went backwards and got the rest, loving every second of it, we could not get enough and just wanted more games like it but it feels so cruel to know nothing else is like Sly, it's so unique it hurts.
I just bought the trilogy and theives in time on Vita, have wanted to play this series since I was 13 and hearing your opinion on sly 1 makes me want to play the game right now
For games that now are relatively old by gaming standards, they hold up so well, even the first one, definitely a highlight of my younger childhood, turned 16 recently and got my own ps3 and all the old games i had on the one my dad let me use, its been so much fun playing the sly cooper games again and genuinely sad that not many people dont seem to know or care about it
My latest replay of the Sly series was just a few months ago but this time I skipped Sly 1 and just started with Band of Thieves. It's not that I think Sly 1 is bad, it's just that I like what the other games do better: the open levels, pickpocketing guards and stealing treasures to buy upgrades, and the addition of Bentley and Murray as playable characters all just make revisiting Sly 1 feel obsolete, at least that is the best way I can describe it.
I've always said that the platforming and level structure is the reason why Sly 1 is my favorite in the series. I will agree that the following games are more in contention for being the better games with how complete they are with story and missions and fleshed out gameplay ideas, but i have always aligned and been more biased towards the simplicity and am always amazed thinking about how a great game was made with those simple concepts. Wow Sly 1 is so cool
This is a yearly play for me sly cooper will always be the perfect platformer trilogy for me. The crisp clean gameplay, the heart tugging story and the amazing memories. I feel like I know these locations like places I grew up in. Something about sly cooper will resonate with me forever. I am completely content if we never see another game in this franchise cause i think it was just a set of perfect games for when it came out. While i really appreciated thieves in time and enjoyed the absolute heck out of it it just didnt have me coming back like the core trilogy. I dont think I'd ever like to see a remaster in the style of ratchet and clank ps4 either. You don't fix what was never broken just hit us with another sly cooper collection with maybe some extra goodies this time around (more concept art and development interviews would be nice if they still have any around we havent seen.) But even if they make more I'll be there for it cause I'll always be interested too see what that raccoon is up too!
On top of Sly 1(and the whole series, I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed Thieves in Time, sue me) being a really good game despite its flaws, something I feel elevates Sly as a character to something more motivational is his age in Sly 1. While I don't recall it ever being stated in game, everywhere else I've looked all states that in Sly 1, Sly is only 18. Dude traveled the world, took down an entire crime syndicate, defeated his family's nemesis, and reclaimed his family's journal at the age of 18. If I'm wrong about Sly's age, then I'm sorry, I've looked in a few different places, and they all say 18 in the first game. I know this doesn't really impact the enjoyment of the gameplay or story in any meaningful way, I just always thought it was a neat fun fact
Around 2002 i first picked up Kingdom Hearts for the PS2, my brother got Sly 1 As time passed I more leaned towards Sly & he leaned towards KH. Since then we've been massive fans of the game the other originally bought. So in a way, my lifelong love for this series is thanks to my brother having bought it for himself originally
Dude sly 3 was the first like real video game I played at my grandparents on my cousins ps2. A few years later I got my own and got sly 3 for it and was so happy. Then I was old enough to start thinking wait there’s 2 other sly games played 1 and 2 and 3 again and it’s literally my favorite series to this day. The I got a ps3 and played sly4 and was amazed. These games were literally my childhood and every single one is what a perfect video game should be.
I think even if it was an unchanged or underdeveloped coin image in Clockwerk's level, it stands to reason that he would be the one of any villain to want that kind of coin. You'd think that Clockwerk wouldn't have that coin because of hatred, but hate by definition carries weight as much as love does. He could collect Cooper themed coins due to his obsessive hate that he gathers more of each with every member he tries to kill over the millennia.
I'm so glad someone pointed this out, the Sly image still makes thematical sense to have in Clockwerk's world especially since Sly would be the newest target in the Cooper family he has his eyes set on. Now if there's a prototype leftover that doesn't make sense that we should talk about, there's Sly calling Carmelita's shock pistol a "bazooka" in Paris, which was left over from when her earlier model was in the game where she did indeed carry a weapon that looks more like a bazooka. You can see this in the May E3 build that was released by Hidden Palace a while back (as well as the Jampack winter demo I believe). In the final game she's holding a pistol, no question.
This is the first game review I watched on Steam Deck. Sly 1 is the first game I played on Steam Deck. I an load it directly through gaming mode with artwork.
Ill never forget, my mom let me open a gift on Christmas eve(one gift on Eve was customary in our house). I opened up a box of speciality candies that morning, my mom god bless her -said "Hold on open this one" and it was this Sly cooper. Never heard of it then, but damn, was i excited and instantly went upstairs and played it.
I love that there’s more videos coming out reviewing ps2 classics and games from then. I just started playing conflict Vietnam on the ps2 again, and there’s so many little details in the tutorial when you listen to soldiers just talk, like one talking about fragging his co for an order given that went fubar. Details like trying to make sure you don’t take out civilians, ordering the squad and allocating points, and many other things
Another great video brudda, never played a Sly game even though I was a PlayStation kid. But can definitely tell the effect this series had on your childhood with how you talk about it.
Sly 1 is absolutely my favorite in the series. Mostly focuses on the best character gameplay, levels are a lot better than later in the series with more platforming variety (because they are purpose built, not semi open world). And the short length means you don't get fatigued as easily as was the case for me replaying Sly 2 where the cracks started to show towards the end where every mission just started to feel like the same stuff as earlier but for longer this time.
I played Sly 2 first when my sister worked at GameStop and was able to barrow games. I fell in love with it, bought Sly 1, then preordered Sly 3. Then kept up with all the news/delays/rumors about Sly 4. I waited for that game so long! Then my preordered game was buggy so I couldn’t 100% it. This is definitely a series I’m going to sit down and replay. Truly my all time favorite franchise.
I remember getting sly cooper and the thevius racoonus, ratchet and clank, and jak and daxter one year for christmas. I played them on a old wooden console tv from the 90s. What a time to be alive.
It's to realize that PS2 games like Sly are turning 20! That means it's officially a classic series. You're right though, while not a perfect game, Sly 1 was amazing for a 3D platformer, especially in an age where they where dying, dead, or being generally terrible. But, for Sucker Punch to pull off the first game of a trilogy this well is glorious! Can't wait for you to talk Sly 2, cause I know how much you love that one.
Sly Cooper is still a big part of my identity as well. Nothing else has captured my imagination like Sly Cooper has, from the amazing art style to the story of the future games in the trilogy. The only reason why I don't play the games that much is because of my almost encyclopedic knowledge of every moment in the trilogy. I got so much out of the games that I sadly don't think I could squeeze any more enjoyment out of it.
Cool, we’re about the same age. I was born in 2002 and didn’t get into the series until around the PS3 era when my dad bought me the Thieves in Time and later I got the trilogy pack. Looking back on it, I now see why a lot favor the first 3 games over the 4th one.
Superb video. I grew up with Sly, though indeed not a perfect game, it holds a pretty important place in my heart. Do wish you touched on the other games a little more, and how they improved on the first!
Sly 2 was the first video game my parents ever got me on PS2 and to this day it is still my absolute number 1 favorite video game of all time. Nothing has ever been as good as Sly 2 and no matter how many times I beat it it’s still just as fun each time. I agree, the Sly Cooper series was a master piece. My favorite game series ever and a huge part of my childhood.
What a great video! Been a fan since 2005🧡 I'm from Barcelona. A question for you all: Wich world from Sly 1 you like the most? For me it's Mesa City no doubt! Something about the purple and blue tonalities of the sky, the yellow and brown stones, the neon lights... very 80's somehow. LOVE SLY COOPER❤
mAN... that was fan-TASTIC, really nicely written too! i gotta good chuckle outta the line reads you improvised with the muggshot & sly cutscene, that was great haha, can't wait to see your other reviews of these PS2 classic games! :D
31:10 From where I come from the holy platformer trinity of the PS2 was very underground. Not counting my relatives, growing up I would only met someone who knew about Sly and Ratchet in High school and that was in the middle of the 8th console gen. I never met someone who knew about Jak, it was only me, but well nowadays Ratchet is popular around here.
When I was a kid my family were in a best guy or a Wal Mart or something like that and they had this on a demo with the little controller tv and I played it and immediately knew what I wanted for Christmas that year and I luckily got it. One of my favorite games of all time.
I was born in 94’ and playing games was my favorite thing to do and still is. I played all the platformers Sly, Crash, J&D, Ratchet, and Spyro. Out of them all Spyro and Sly were my 2 favorites, Spyro being my number 1 and they announced the reignited trilogy to come out originally a few days after my birthday on September 21st and then they had they small few week delay would’ve been the best birthday gift ever lol
Omg!!! I can't believe you made this video RIGHT after I found your Sly 4 review. I can't wait to watch!! :DDD So happy to see your love for the series is still going on so strong
This video is incredibly well put-together. Much of what you cover are things I've tried to describe, but you articulated it much better. This series stands so highly above it's siblings in the industry-- I think both objectively and personally. It's something that had a major influence on my interest in entertainment and taste in games in my formative years. Absolute legendary title. Wish 4 was better but it deserves all the praise it's ever received and more
I wish I had played the Sly games when I was younger. They looked really cool. I was able to play just a tad at the house of a friend of my parents. I've always liked his design. I guess it's never to late to play now that I can get my own games, though. Enjoyed the video and have a nice day everyone!
YES SLY COOPER LOVE! Like everyone, I grew up on this trilogy! I don’t know anyone who loves this game as much as me! I always compare games I play now against sly cooper and I just haven’t found a game I loved more than this trilogy. Thank you for reviewing this again! ❤
Thank you for this video! Was is past tense, Sly Cooper to me is and always a masterpiece. This series deserves much more praise and recognition as other older games like Bushido Blade, Ape Escape or Jak & Daxter.
0:48 Same here. I was around 2 or 3 when my big cousin used to play Sly 1. A few years later I rented Sly 2 from Blockbusters, later that year I owed a copy of Sly 3 and in 2007 I owned a copy of Sly 2

Zeke
It's a shame we may never see this once great franchise return to it's former glory.
Amen to that shit
Unfortunately that is the most likely scenario
At this point I'm just going to be satisfied if a fifth game is even made
If only sanzaru didn't make that mid ass game with a trash story while having no clear direction afterwards.
Sly 2 is easily the worst in the series.
*Slap* Keep. You're negativity. To, yourself!
This trilogy feels so great to play, good stories, memorable villains and their backstories.
The gameplay, artstyle, soundtracks, it’s just perfect.
Always love seeing Sly Cooper get more of a spotlight. It was one of the first game series I played on PS2 and it’s still a great series to this day.
Kingdom hearts as well!
Wow so random. I decided to search this game up because I hadn't thought about it in forever and there's an amazing retrospective posted 3 hours ago. Well done.
I'm glad there is someone out there that loves these games as much as I do. This game was my childhood. I always felt lonely in my love for this series.
Sly 1 will always be my favorite of the series. It was one of the games that truly made me love and appreciate storytelling in gaming as a kid.
Straight to the masterpiece title, you know the game is good if it warrants that title…
Not gonna lie, I always got a Robin Hood vibe from Sly Cooper and I guess that's what drew me to this franchise and character.
The reason Crash, Jak, Ratchet & Clank, and Spyro get so much love compared to Sly, is because those games have always been more successful than Sly
Funny story with Sly Cooper 2
When I played these games, I was not only very young and, also, the internet wasn't really a thing yet.
Sly Cooper 2 and 3 were an enormous part of my childhood and to this day I mention Sly Cooper as the perfect example on how to write a story that appeals to all demographics while maintaining depth... and, of course, satisfying gameplay, music, art direction, the works.
its cool how your old sly reviews is how i found your channel and you're doing them again!!! cant wait for the sly 2 and 3 videos
Reason why my younger brother and I wanted a PS2 was strictly for Sly. My cousin rented it once and we were mesmerized.
Heck, it is the only boss fight I DO remember, unlike boss battles in latter games.
your love for sly cooper is shared by me my friend. couldn't get enough of this series growing up
only those who played this as a child know how magical these 3 games were... sly 3 is my favorite game ever, I don't know how many hours I've spent in this game but it was absolutely worth it. Good to watch a video about it and see so many people commenting how sly games had also changed their lives.
Thank you j reviews for getting hooked on this AMAZING game franchise as of right now i on sly 2 so far I LOVE IT
Sly Cooper was actually pretty popular in Norway and a lot of people I know and knew during my younger days all played Sly.
Now you can play it on ps4/5
I just bought the trilogy and theives in time on Vita, have wanted to play this series since I was 13 and hearing your opinion on sly 1 makes me want to play the game right now
Hack yr vita stop giving money to Sony scammers
Love the music for Ms Ruby's swamp.
PLEASE you need to make an all sly cooper jokes comp PLEASE
Hands down one of the greatest video game series of all time. Sly cooper is more than my childhood it’s my peace 🙏
glad you are re-reviewing this game, i really like this game.
My favorite childhood game. Period. It hit me at the perfect time in my life and my brother and I beat these games over and over and over again
Around 2002 i first picked up Kingdom Hearts for the PS2, my brother got Sly 1
As time passed I more leaned towards Sly & he leaned towards KH.
That’s a really good point
First game i've ever played and I was 3,4 my dad would let me hold the controller while he played and I was obsessed
I was talking to my brother about this game the other day far and beyond one of my favorite games as a kid, still a masterpiece
Sly Cooper deserves the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro Remake treatment.
Sly Cooper will ALWAYS be a franchise I will love. I go through phases with other things I love, but Sly Cooper is always at heart and not a phase.
Another great video brudda, never played a Sly game even though I was a PlayStation kid. But can definitely tell the effect this series had on your childhood with how you talk about it.
U shd play it
Sly 1 is absolutely my favorite in the series.
So glad you decided to cover these again. I was just watching the last few reviews
The sly cooper series is definitely one of the best video game series imo
So cool that it is literally September of 2022 and people still remember Sly Cooper. Sucker Punch really should pick it back up !
The consistency and quality of these uploads have been great recently keep them coming!
I remember unlocking the "Sly Cooper anime" clip at the end of the game and really wanting a full cartoon in that style
I'm so happy it's back on the classics catalog.
I remember getting sly cooper and the thevius racoonus, ratchet and clank, and jak and daxter one year for christmas. I played them on a old wooden console tv from the 90s. What a time to be alive.
This franchise was my childhood. Some of my favorite games.
I feel that, that’s how I was with these games and the uncharted series when I was like 10
Cool, we’re about the same age.
Looove that series. Played the heck out of these games as a kid. Part of why I love stealth games today.
Clockwork was really spooky as a kid.
I love Sly, I think about it as one of the 3 big trio (Ratchet, Jak and Daxter and Sly).
I didn't get into the Sly Cooper until much later, but when I did I was very impressed by the game, it's design and it's story.
I frequently watch your Sly Cooper videos every now and then.
I have seen your old videos about sly and notice how you change the titles to "old review" love to see you talking about sly again
0:48 Same here.
I was around 2 or 3 when my big cousin used to play Sly 1.
A few years later I rented Sly 2 from Blockbusters, later that year I owed a copy of Sly 3 and in 2007 I owned a copy of Sly 2
Thought this was a reupload but it isnt, im so happy.
This year is also the 30th anniversary of kirby and seing him finally get a 3D game is really exciting
Sly games shaped my taste in games when they came out.
Happy Anniversary to Sly!
You made it seem like murray was being protected by deadshot
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus still holds up today, 20 years after the release. I'm glad I kept an old PS2 game console.
Absolutely love this series definitely my favorite game series right with the Kingdom Hearts Franchise! Was my whole childhood as well played all these games so many times and I hope this great series returns one day because it truly deserves a better send off. With both crash and ratchet and clank gotten new games I hope it returns!
