Italian vehicles in general are overtiered into being either decent or next to useless against it's competitors unless your blessed or an exceptionally good pilot/tanker you aren't going to get far at all.

@@user-vs7to2gk8k how does that compare to superior mobility, superior gun depression, superior survivability and, most important, superior reload? APS is almost useless and armor won't prevent you getting oneshot by HSTV-L from it shooting your LFP. Also, gun and mantlet have 0 armor

pro tip: once unlocked ESS in a vehicle above 9.0 uncheck it in the module window to safe some silver lions on repair cost. At this BR there are way too many thermal imagers, which renders ESS mostly useless.

For the speed comparison, most of war thunder map is not that big for you to reach top speed or even maintain it that long. Its only the acceleration that matters, which means the ariete is better in mobility

Abrams hull ammo also has blowout panels. Though in general you wouldn't want to take more than the turret bustle.

I love how consistently smaller the M1 family is compared to other western MBTs.
You should do a video to test all the top darts from all nations to see if they spall the same. A lot of people think that some darts spall better than others so I’d like to see a test to disprove this. I personally believe most people who claim different spall rates are falling victim to confirmation bias.

The fact that the top tier Ariete can get penned and killed by American ww2 90mm from the front is depressing (i tested it out and it penned Right through and killed all the crew) *aim for the lower part of the hull*
Now do T72B3 vs any other 11.3, and do the T279 heli versus any other heli for 10.3 :)
Both have insane weakspots that 25mm APDS can pen easily (LFP for ariete and turret ring for Abrams)
Turret ring of abrams should be buffed arleady, it isnt like that irl

I dont even use arietes. ITaly top tier is all about the light tanks, and they're decent at that.
Still not convinced that the Ariete armor is realistic.Yes, the Ariete is known as the worst performing MBT in the EU, but it's front can literally be penetrated by many WW2 cannons and autocannons. It sucks that the armor configuration is classified, but they could at least have made the tank viable at top tier.
It’s armor irl was comparable to challenger 1’s and leopard 2a4’s, just look at the weight, all the same weight and size but the Ariete has 6 times less composite armor, like where is all that weight goin, and with the war kits the survivability is comparable to the 2a6, it also had composite armor in the hull which even the manufacturers website says though gaijin hates Italy and won’t listen

Looks like AMV, Better mobility in most matches (less you get a straight good luck having max), Better thermals and round, But pretty shit protection for its tier.... So like the TKX/Fuji/Type90?
Cant have it all, However I could see the arietes at 11.3 not .7
But the Japanese tanks get great reload and rounds with some good survivability, Ariete has none of that
Gaijin has seen this and will now make sure to remedy this by putting another 10t onto the Ariete and moving it up to 12.0.

As an Ariete enjoyer, after having played the M1's for a bit now at USA's top tier, it really doesnt matter if the Abrams has a better hull or turret face compared to the Arietes on paper when the Abrams is still way more likely to die in 1 shot due to the massive turret ring weakspot compared to Arietes 'no armor best armor' approach. In essence, I personally as an Italy player find the Arietes way more survivable than the M1's. "Oh but it has an ammo rack in the turret crew compartment, surely Ariete always blows up", Youre right to assume so, however through my Italy maining ive noticed Arietes suffer from ammo explosions way less than you think. The most likely death cause in an Ariete is the usual crew dying. When hit in the ammo atleast in my experience it rarely explodes. Is this a bug or not, idk, i hope not.
After getting to USA top tier and playing it for ~100 matches and comparing it to my top tier Italy experience, I would pick Italy and play Italy at top tier any day of the week over USA. Italy rarely gets USA in your team at top tier, which is already a very good reason to play them.

Imagine comparing the armor scheme and blatantly ignoring that Abrams has a giant turret neck that can be penetrated by T-34-57 (BR 4.7) from 800m away, lethaly to the shitbrams. Any apfsds that goes under the turret ( that's where 90-95% of them will go ) will take out your: Breech, engine, turret ring, all 3 crew members. Even if 1 crew member somehow survives by some miracle - you will still be completely disabled. Only idots would shoot abrams in the cheeks or hull, everyone knows that center mass under the turret is a nearly guaranteed oneshot and is guaranteed to disable the target.

The ariete is for sure the worst tank, but it doesn’t help since the tones of useless buff got the abrams. Look at the br heat map. Ariete perform outstandingly well, will abrams suffer. Guess which tech tree has wallet warriors and dumb players ?

@@kave-2278 The hull armour is literally in the middle of the hull. You can't mount a blowout pannel there even if you wanted to. With the ammo in the turret, the explosion and the fire can be evacuated from the back of the turret to the exterior AS LONG AS THE BLOWOUT PANNEL REMAINS INTACT. But the ammo in the hull, you have nowhere to redirect the explosion and the fire. So if that ammo is hit, it's bye bye

@@alexmaximus9134 IRL, the Abrams DOES have a blowout panel for the ammo in the hull. You can see it from outside on the top of the hull, right behind the turret ring. The Abrams is the only MBT in service (that I know of) that has ALL of its ammo stowage secured by blowout panels.
BTW making a small hole in the armored door between the ammo and the crew with an APFSDS doesn’t magically make blowout panels stop working (at least IRL)-the explosion follows the path of least resistance and squeezing all of its energy through a small hole (or a couple of them) is not it. Most likely, the blowout panels would still give out first so the crew would only experience a fraction of the explosive force-it’s not nothing but there’s no way the whole tank would explode from that.

@@black8smoke195 Я писал об ариете чтобы ты, узколобый, понял что цель 80% игроков в этой игре - дойти до топов. А так как все знают что ариета чухня ее никто не советует. Я и за советов играл и за амеров с немцами и японцами, на всех бр кроме совсем уж резервного песка эти итальянцы встречаются раз в сто боев. И основной посыл моего первого комментария был в том что разраб будет стимулировать прокачку "неинтересных" наций. А у К2 в видосе есть диаграмма с процентным соотношением популярности наций в игре. Завали свою варежку или говори фактами.

I fully agree aswell. Ive played top tier of USA, USSR, Germany, Japan, Italy and now most recently got to Leclercs upto S21 and holy shit ive never been more frustrated playing a tank than any of the Leclercs.

@@gerfandThe WAR and PSO kits increase the Ariete armor by 300mm in the turret, the WAR one by 400mm and the upgrades made to the AMV are not visible in the game.
The Ariete irl is a fusion between the armor of the Challenger and the speed of a Leopard with the added potential of the firepower of OTO guns

@@gerfandMy brother in Christ, this is War Thunder AND Gaijin we are talking about, a game where the T-90 can tank an entire tank shell to the side and not blow up, where the Swedes get the best version of the Leopard possible (When irl its just a beefed up 2a5).
The Challenger itself on a tank vs tank scenario is a very tough nut to crack irl, proved by various scenarios in war
