I did a roomette and almost came out of my skin. My mother loved it. I was going nuts in that small space. And I hated I had no window up top and couldn’t sit up in the top bed. Even if I booked a bedroom I’d want it all to myself. lol And yes, I showered during the trip and it really tested my balance.
Yes, have showered in the Amtrak bedroom on previous trips. Found out the train sways a LOT and that makes staying on your feet tricky during the shower. Next time will try to time my shower to when I'm stopped at a station or passing slowly through cities, rather than rocketing through the countryside. Didn't have a problem with wet bathroom afterwards. Simply used the towel to dry toilet and most of walls off when finished so the bathroom was usable afterwards. And the toilet paper had a cover that worked well so the paper didn't get wet. I'll be staying in a roomette on my next trip, so I'm looking forward to trying out the larger shower on the bottom level (on a Superliner).
Yah you definitely have to be careful when the train has picked up speed. Otherwise you feel like a ping pong ball. Smart thinking to do it at the stops or when it’s slowing through train yards or cities.
Have u ever took a long trek via coach? I'm considering doing said- chgo- Seattle! The sleeper cars are about 600- 700 dollars more expensive The rail pass is $499. 00- but only offers coach accommodations.
great tour thank you!! nothing super about that room ha ha. its not like in the movies. everything looks so dirty like an airplane bathroom. id rather just have a private seat room vs the whole bedroom. If i take a train across countryimgoing allout and buying the luxury traincar package where you rent a whole traincar.
Hey I get what you’re saying. However there’s very little luxury trains that go an across country. Amtrak has quite the grip on the United States passenger rail service. Anything luxury is usually just a tour company. But if you come across it I’m all ears.
Yes; as already stated. Great video giving all aspects of room with good video work without wordiness. Thanks so much!
Thanks for all the responses to my question you all rock! Thanks again!!
My pleasure. I’m happy to help the best I know how

I totally understand going nuts in a small space. It’s a little more cramped with a second person. Haven’t done it yet but soon I will.

Coach is exactly what I did. It’s the cheaper route for sure.
I would probably just take a wash off/bird bath. I don't want to shower inside the toilet essentially. Hopefully you had on shower shoes.
I did have flip flops on. It wasn’t too shabby lol
Never rode Amtrak. Howe is the ride? Smooth or rough?
Just depends on the tracks and speed. More times than not you will feel the swaying but also enjoy the smooth experiences too. Depends on the routes.
