How did you know his head was too high? You did not show the ala tragus line not in the correct position and then in the correct position. Please describe the points you look for to be sure the alignment is proper. Thank you
I’ve had big-necked, brawny male patients that no matter how high or low the chin rest is the moving part will hit their shoulder. I tell them in order for this X-ray to be perfect they’re gonna have to jump through hoops for a minute. They cooperate and it comes out okay-fine enough the doctor can still examine it. (if he’s not too picky)
I've found that if patient's put their hands on the bottom of the bar with their palms facing up, it will help bring down their shoulders. Also, make sure they are positioned as close to the device as possible so they can extend their neck vertically as mush as possible. Avoid 'chicken necking' to create better height separation between the chin and the shoulder.
