- This E-flite SU-30 twin 70mm EDF was a recent addition to the hangar. I had seen the airplane at first release at the last AMA West Expo and was struck by how nice the airframe is. The model features beautiful scale landing gear and a speed brake, not to mention a finish that will make anyone drool. So, when they came back in stock, I was excited to get one! :) I'm happy to report that the airplane not only looks great, it flies really sweet as well. It is such a cool model! I'm flying the airplane with a spektrum 6s smart 7000 which seems about right for the model for flight times and performance. Finally got to see the video in its entirety. Wendy (my friends call her “Sarge”) went outside carrying a broom, so there must’ve been a squirrel, cat, or small child in the yard.
Did you do the afterburners?
Touch and Go was nice. Still like the touch and go with the a-10. That looked more difficult with the 1/16 to 1/8 inch exposed wheels, but that’s why you’re the best pilot on TH-cam.
Starting to slowly overcome the residual of the Covid-19 shakes. Last week I tried the WL Toys SkyKing, this afternoon I’m graduating to the EFlite Radian. My hope is to get back to warbirds, the 3 ArrowsRC Vipers I bought. (1 of them I added a rudder servo, a 40 amp esc and a bigger 50mm motor. My guess is, I might need to add some carbon fiber rods to the wings. In any event, it’ll probably go fast, and when you look up “Unlimited Vertical” in the dictionary, there will be a picture of me and my Viper on steroids. It’ll be fun. Might only be for 30 seconds, but it’ll be fun)
Yes, the burners are the ones I offer. They’ve become a must do mod anymore, haha! I’m glad to hear things are starting to improve a bit for you. I hope you’ll be back to your regular flying soon! The little viper sounds like a good time. 😊. Oh, and you should know, the A-10 gear up touch and go was unintentional, haha! 🤣
Chris, no question I’ll buy afterburners for the ArrowsRC MiG 29. (I bought it, I’m not good enough to fly it... I take it out to the field with my ArrowsRC Viper and Marlin (those I fly) to look cool.
The afterburners on the MiG 29 sitting in the stand on the bench would raise the level of coolness.
3 batteries worth last evening with the Twin Otter on floats. No depth perception or balance/equilibrium or the shakes issues. That little plane (my first twin engine) has become what the Apprentice was 4 1/2 years ago. Just rock solid, my “go to” plane when at the lake. It was scary to weeks ago when I had to abort with the WL Toys SkyKing after two laps. Don’t be me. Wear your mask, have hand sanitizer everywhere and use it. I just got lazy and stopped doing both.

Right? I do think that these gear could be made to fit the tomcat if someone were so inclined. Not sure I’ll go there with mine though.

Very beautiful airplane. Are those afterburners LEDs at stock or did you add them, it gives this beauty a very nice touch. I think it's the nicest (foam PNP) JET out there, what you think about that?

You know, I haven’t actually tried that yet.
How long can it fly with one charge of the battery (when it’s full 100%) ?
It depends on the capacity of the battery. Consider if the system pulls about 120amps and you’re using a 5000mah battery, the battery would be fully depleted in 2.5 minutes (5 amp-hours/120amps) if kept at full throttle the entire time. That’s where the mixed flying comes in as it can increase flight time considerably.
Another to add to my list of planes to buy. The irony is, I'm in the military and I want to buy a rc mig...
