Somehow, some way…your advice, is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you, Ms. Bre. 🙏🏼✌️
I've made a fair number of zines, but i've been binge watching your videos this week and I'm excited to add more drawings to my existing text and reformat things for easier digestion! ^_^ Thanks for your videos!
The video has been pushed by TH-cam in my recommendations because i follow a lot of bookbinding content, and i must say that's actually a very cool introduction to it! Now i want to try to mix and match book binding techniques with the creation of zines! Thanks ❤
came here curious about zines but stayed for the algorithm rant because oh my gosh yes THANK YOU. the focus on being authentic and true to you is so real. i have definitely tried to chase the algorithm in the past and it's exhausting and so creatively unfulfilling. also love what you say about how we never know how what we say/create/share will affect others - it's those small moments of inspiration that are so important!
Just saw some of your videos at the end of the year and it inspired me to try to make a zine. I use to love making elaborate projects in school to express myself and this seems sorta similar.
I love this -- zines are awesome and I think you'll have so much fun with them bc you can make em as elaborate as ya want! Thanks for watching my videos. Happy New Year 💞
YESSSSS!! this topic resonates so much that i can't wait to watch. totally gonna be my year to finally start my small business! ty bre you're awesome xoxox
THANK YOU!!! Most of the time people are curious but when it comes down to it they are NOT going to do it for their business! It is an INTEREST that they will or will not add to their creative practice! So many gatekeepers, ugh!! That’s why so much of what I’ve learned has been self taught!
Oh wow, the youtube algorithm reads minds (or it heard me talk to my friend about this), and it showed me your video. I plan to deep dive into zines big time in 2024 and encourage others via my channel, to make them too! Great to find your channel- and thanks for the encouragement! ❤
I don’t go here, but it doesn’t stop me from peeking into different communities. Idk it comforts me to hear people still do stuff they love this much and keep the passion. Just hearing you talk about your passion in zine making makes me enjoy looking around for them. Your talk about other zine makers really made me happy!! It applies to many communities and things we do!! Really hope you’ll have more enjoyable times with it!! It reaches even the people who just peek from the door haha ❤❤❤
ive beein wanting to start on zine making since the first time youtube recommended your videos but bc i tend to be this imperfect perfectionist, i just refused to start untill i get THE idea..... i just got an idea...... im excited! im already kinda nervous in like... an exciting way to share what its gonna end up being, so wish me luck haha
One of my biggest problems with Zines is that I don’t know where to find Zines that are closer to my interests. I don’t have a lot of time and I want to enjoy a hobby. I don’t want to read a lot of heavy activism zines or heavy topics when I am trying to relax. I just want to find more zines that fit aound the window of my interests. I don’t mind reading things that aren’t perfectly my interests but it can’t have heavy topics or activism that stresses me out when I am trying to relax.
Totally understandable. There are TONS of zines that have nothing to do with political themes or activism - Tumblr, Pinterest, Etsy, and TikTok are great places to find a good mix of zines that are more light. In person craft fairs or artist valleys are another nice way of discovering zines that may match your interests and aren’t too serious. They’re out there you just have to keep up the search 👍🏽 And if you can’t find what you’re looking for, it’s encouraged to make the type of zine you’d wanna read and contribute to the zine community that way x
Every time i watch one of your videos i feel so inspired to create, which is something i really appreciate as someone who views being creative as integral to my well being as a complete organism but still sometimes neglects my first loves (drawing and writing) in favor of other medias. Zines are a perfect combination for drawing and writing and its part of why i love them so much. excuse my scattered ramblings, the point is that you facilitate an environment that is so openly in love with the act of creation that inspiration just flows freely here. and i love that
You’re the sweetest, thank you so much for being here and taking the time to comment. I really hope you have a 2024 filled with creativity and zines! I agree that zines are the perfect outlet to do both drawing and writing 🫂❤️ cheers! x
your videos always leave me feeling so calm and free to create. your speaking is easy to follow, even if you ramble (i love rambling). thank you for making zines and gate-freeing the amazing knowledge and insights you have!!
Hah, I hadn't realized there's actually zine community /online/. 😅 I've been wanting to do my own art zines for a while, but haven't really started. Idk if there's actually a zine community/culture locally, other than for indie comics. Also, "everybody's dollar store is different" Ours: doesn't exist 😭 Thanks for the tips (and the enthusiastic presentation), you got me excited for future zine projects.
Hi Bre! I love your videos because you were like a teacher to me when it comes to zinemaking. I wanna make a big zine someday and i am looking forward to your journey. Happy New Year!
been watching a lot of your content recently and happy to say i’m planning on selling my first ever illustration-based zine this month!! thank you for the pep talks!! also would love to maybe trade zines with people at some point, i have only ever done a few art trades but zines specifically seem so fun to trade!
This is incredible!! ❤️ Congratulations and thank you so much for your support - I’m glad I could be part of your zine journey :) I’m always open for trades! Whenever you’re ready feel free to send to my P.O. Box (on my website here: msha.ke/brestinyprintshop) or hit me up on Instagram. It takes me a week or two to mail back bc of my work schedule, but I always do 🫂
I have just compiled my first two chapbooks, each containing a selection of my poems, and that put me into the mood to create some zines - as personal art projects, combining poetry and art . I think your advice makes a lot of sense. I have long ago stopped “creating to make money” and found that my art and my writing immediately started to improve, simply because I was so much more relaxed, enjoying the process and not so focussed on outcome.
Oh my gosh I’m so mad you experienced this level of gatekeeping but…. Yeah it’s why I got out of the art world! Excited to follow along with what you share here!
Your channel is so, so useful for a beginner zine-maker :) So far I've made a very small perzine and a slightly bigger and better zine about bonding (because zine-making can absolutely be chemistry revision). New years resolution is to MAKE MORE ZINES!!!
I'm so glad I found this... I've been wanting to make zines so bad, but life got me. This is just.. kind of calling to me again, and maybe this is my sign! Idk, but you got a follow from me
These videos have been awesome, you seem like an absolutely rock solid human I’m looking to selfpublish my comic via zines locally and with what Meta is doing to steal art on its platforms things have been terrifying. I love seeing artists online and all of the creators I follow but I feel like we all need to be supporting our local art communities like city arts councils and art groups.
Good luck with your comic! Zines are a popular medium for self published comics so I know you’ll do well 👍🏽 And I agree that we all need to cultivate our local communities - it’s so powerful what we can accomplish and grow when we lean on each other for support 🖤
So happy to have ran across your channel. This is a beautiful encouraging presentation! It is so true that something you do, no matter how small you might think it is, can bring light back into someone's life. I have only just discovered zines and am loving the concept. And who in their right mind wouldn't want to share tips about using a bone folder...... 😂 Gatekeepers can be so weird. If I have a neat trick or tip that works for me then everyone hears it, I think sometimes whether they want to hear it or not LOL!
As someone who’s almost entirely carrying a very VERY tiny niche in her fandom, the prospect of gate keeping the thing I love is BAFFLING to me. My group is already nearly nonexistent as it is, why would I want to KEEP it that way when more people interested in it means more for EVERYONE to enjoy??? I know “it’s special to me” is usually the excuse, but then my argument is “so is MY special interest, but that’s just all the more reason for me to want more people to discover the joy of it. More people liking it doesn’t make this thing any less special.” I’m glad you kept going with making zines despite the stumbling blocks you encountered along the way. Especially since now you’re here and sharing your creativity for others to enjoy and take inspiration from.
omg the gatekeeping part, i'm so sorry you dealt with that. Im just a stranger on the internet, but i don't think asking for help as a newbie is annoying - ppl are kind of jerks sometimes. i've been really struggling with knowing how to take up space/posting my content online for literal yearssss, i'm promising myself is the year i fully engage with my hesitance and figure out something that feels good to me, and i think zines is a great way to take up space in an analog/digital hybrid that would make me feel much more at ease
Thank you for this! Real + helpful advice, especially for new and evolving artists. I'm in the process of mapping out a plan --- total beginner with zine making and already learning so much.
Gate keeping happens and it can be very pretentious. Though I think your point of protecting something special was spot on. Sometimes when it gets big. The toxic pool gets larger too. Though I think you can preserve something special by being a beacon of knowledge and your love for that hobby. I think you’re doing that well. :) I hate this gatekeeper culture with also clothing small business. It’s makes sense but it gets pretentious when they make you pay for something so small that probably everyone is doing. Thank you for this.
Your videos, how you explain the different kinds of zines, and how beautiful and unique your zines are has inspired me to try and make some zines for fun and to give as gifts to my family and friends ❤😊 you freaking rock!!!!
Wow!! Thank you so much for sharing this with me - it’s why I keep going 🫂💕 I know your family and friend will love your zines…it’s such a thoughtful gift!
This video for me is like that zine necklace for you 9-6 Very comforting and calming and positive and honest, thank you so so much, I feel like I'm ready to get out of bed and continue with my silly hobby :1
Just wanted to say you are wonderful ! I am so happy to continued to press on despite the rude welcome you got. Thanks for the info you shared, your vidoe was very informative and helpful!
girrrll I LOVE your videos sm!! THANK YOU for making this amazing content and art and for daring to be yourself. Your videos have been so so useful this week as I struggle to put my art on paper. TY!!🌸
Omg that’s so cool 😎 🇧🇷 Maybe you can start a zine club or fest! Thank you so much for watching, and for the encouragement 🖤🖤 sometimes I get self conscious but your comment made me feel so much more relaxed about how I talk lol happy new year! 🎊
aa this vid rocks, thank you so much for it!! Ive been thinking about trying to make a zine for a while; wanting to slow down to be "messy and janky and raw and real" like you said. this is such a big help and refreshing reminder of the vlaue of creative pursuits as both individual fulfillment and as a form of community!! this is my first video ive watched by you but im excited to watch more :-D
I am so glad I happened upon this video-you are truly so inspiring, Bre! I discovered zines years ago and was completely obsessed, but then gradually life got in the way, and I sort of forgot about them. This video has really sparked my interest again…..thank you so much.
27:24 I read somewhere that trends usually come from what people feel like they miss from society (or something like that) I honestly would love for zines to start trending and becoming more popular, because i can't find any zine community where I live, and It'd be awesome to see all that people can create if the zine community were to grow bigger! I've noticed that a lot of vintage and homemade things are trending more, like crochet(I think?), diy(I feel like it's constantly trending, but I've seen more natural diy videos (like not troom troom style channels)) or vintage clothes, and if it keeps going like this, It's very possible that zines will be trending one day! At least I hope :') (sorry for all the parenthesis) Anyways, amazing video as usual!! TH-cam wasn't notifying me your new videos for some reason, so my brain kinda forgot your channel's existence >:( But now I'm catching up on the videos I missed!! I'm pretty motivated right now and your videos always inspire me (I love to watch them while drawing or crafting), and you have great advice. so thank you!!!
I agree! Zines are GONNA make a comeback and it’s gonna be great for all of us hehehe I’m glad my video reached you despite not being notified, that’s been happening to me a lot and I have no idea why LOL but yay! Thank you for watching 🤩
I truly love your channel and how you are passionate about zines, and how you are so supportive to newbies in the community, it very motivates me, so thank you bree !
Thank you for this! I want to make a zine that is like a vision board/focus priorities. I like the tangible feel of paper over that of a screen. Just something I can always have with me and make me happy 🙏🏽💗
Struggling with printing, it’s pricey for me with where I’m at atm. Any advice? I use the local library currently, but it ends up being 5+ a copy. Love your work so much, you’re a huge inspiration to me
I print from home which saves me a ton! I use an epson ecotank which uses ink pods so you refill ink instead of buying cartridges (this is a long haul option) if you were looking to do that. Hmm.. I also would have suggested the library bc my local one allows 20 free copies per day and thought maybe they offered that everywhere. Too bad yours charges, that stinks!! I would suggest looking up if there are any printing studios/zine distros in your city - they usually offer great deal for booklet and zine printing. Good luck, sorry I could offer much help! x Thanks for watching ❤️
@@brattyxbre no that’s totally fine! I appreciate your response:)) I’ll definitely look into that printer since I live in a small town. I am planning on starting a local group for making zines though, so maybe that’ll bring it to our lil community haha. Have a great day!!
The wait was worthy! I'm glad I saved this video for when I'm not busy 🎉🎉🎉! P.S.: People in the art field (which includes zines) tend to be really snobby. I wouldn't take it personally 😖. In my country's scene there is a lot of pettiness, a lot of competition between illustrators. Which is ironic because we have A LOT LESS consideration than in any other countries from Europe, and we'd benefit a lot from mutual aid
🫂🖤 The art field can be really mean for no damn reason. Sorry you go through the same thing, and you’re right…it’s almost never personal and just something with them and their insecurities. Keep on creating and hope you have the best 2024!! I appreciate your support 🖤
Thanks to you and your channel, I made my first zine last year. Definitely, it’s just for me. I can’t really copy it because it is on a16 x 24 inch sheet of paper folded into pages, and it has metallic gold and metallic silver on a wine colored background with black print, and if I brought it over to FedEx Office it would cost a million dollars to copy, if it copied well at all. But that’s okay. I love my zine, which is all about my journey from being a pastor into being an agnostic. It was SO HEALING to create. I have more ideas that will maybe be for more of an audience. The first zine, though? That’s my personal main squeeze of a zine. For nobody but me.
Thank you so much for this!!! (': I made my first zine after watching your zinetober video and have only made two so far ): but this has motivated me again! I appreciate you Bre!!!!
Why do people keep info to themselves?! ☹️ I’m all for helping people. Thank you for making this video I’m learning about Zines came across this and love your energy! ♥️
I have made zines before but i can still use these tips tbh ^^ Thank you for making your content and thank you for answering my questions about zine making in Instagram DMs haha
I have a question id love from advice on. Making a zine that is using song lyrics or an excerpt from a published book... are these allowed to be sold if we make it clear that it is not ours? I know people make zines using song lyrics all the time I just am not sure what to do about selling them. Thank you in advance!
As far as I know that’s totally fine as long as you are not claiming the lyric as your own (ie: saying you came up with that lyric or something). Zines are typically really punk and not professionally published so it’s usually not a concern if you use material like that in your work. This is just coming from my own opinion - not an expert in any way btw! 😊 Have fun making your zines this year and thanks for watching x 🎊❤️
I CHOSE TO FOLLOW YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE A WONDERFUL COACH YOU KNOW HOW TO INSPIRE PEOPLE FORWARD INTO THEIR OWN FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. GOOD JOB GOOD JOB. I WISH YOU WERE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. I WAS PUNK SCENE ZINE PERSON.... WAY BACK IN 1977 TO 1984. I want to find the original 1920s Harlem ZINE production stuff that you were talking about
Thank you for being here! I love meeting people who made zines when they were really popping off…so interesting 🤩 Here is a link to some zine resources I put together, scroll to the bottom for info on the Harlem Renaissance : docs.google.com/document/d/11Lc8s3w5HLrs8ekKiIGrbxNjVUV591MRvLdIOp_5fiA/mobilebasic
Since I’m pretty new to the whole small business thing, I don’t feel too comfortable giving a “how to” (I’m still learning and figuring things out myself!) But, if you haven’t seen it already, I do have a video about things I do that help me ⬇️ Running My Own Zine + Art Shop (idk what I’m doing tbh) th-cam.com/video/n3CPHnWDdIM/w-d-xo.html

- Thank you.
(Ps) I stuck around, watched this video all the way through. All 28:15 Sec’s, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Yet-most importantly, I learned from you.
Somehow, some way…your advice, is exactly what I needed to hear.
Thank you, Ms. Bre. 🙏🏼✌️
Yes! You get it. Thank you for watching 🥰
Damn I'm so inspired that Bre's also a baja blast babe. My first zine is gonna have to be dedicated to baja blast now.
I wanna read that zine 🫡
Thanks for featuring my zine in this video ♥️ I can’t wait to make more this year
Any time! 🖤
I experienced gate keeping in my local zine community as well. Got bullied out of a whole art show cause of it. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry to hear that 😔 Some folks are just so mean and insecure. Hope you continue Zine making this year!
I've made a fair number of zines, but i've been binge watching your videos this week and I'm excited to add more drawings to my existing text and reformat things for easier digestion! ^_^ Thanks for your videos!
Woot woot!! 🥳🫶🏽
Happy New Year 💞
👍The topic sound amazing! I'll definitely watch the replay (I'll be at the 9-to-5 at premiere time)
Thanks, Sierra 😇
Happy New Year!
YESSSSS!! this topic resonates so much that i can't wait to watch. totally gonna be my year to finally start my small business! ty bre you're awesome xoxox
You got this! 🖤
THANK YOU!!! Most of the time people are curious but when it comes down to it they are NOT going to do it for their business! It is an INTEREST that they will or will not add to their creative practice! So many gatekeepers, ugh!! That’s why so much of what I’ve learned has been self taught!
Great vid, great supportive chat, great ideas, thanks all
Thanks for catching the premiere with us! Loved what everyone had to say and now I feel more inspired to create today ✌🏽
🥹♥️♥️
ive beein wanting to start on zine making since the first time youtube recommended your videos but bc i tend to be this imperfect perfectionist, i just refused to start untill i get THE idea..... i just got an idea...... im excited! im already kinda nervous in like... an exciting way to share what its gonna end up being, so wish me luck haha
How exciting!! You got this 😍
How would your zine look like if you could turn of the perfectionism?
They’re out there you just have to keep up the search 👍🏽
And if you can’t find what you’re looking for, it’s encouraged to make the type of zine you’d wanna read and contribute to the zine community that way x
Just started getting into Zines and it definitely feels like Universe guided me to your video. Thanks for sharing your perspective ✨
I’m happy this video found you! Have fun making your zines :)
I really tried to like this video about three times, thank you!!
😭🙏🏽🖤
I agree that zines are the perfect outlet to do both drawing and writing 🫂❤️ cheers! x
Oh my god Bre! You're the coolest! Thanks so much for the shout out.
Of course! That zine you made me hangs above my desk all the time, I love flipping through it. Happy 2024! 🖤
@@brattyxbre Happy 2024. I think you're right about zines blowing up this year. I hope so anyway.
your videos always leave me feeling so calm and free to create. your speaking is easy to follow, even if you ramble (i love rambling). thank you for making zines and gate-freeing the amazing knowledge and insights you have!!
Wow, thank you! 🖤🫂
Hah, I hadn't realized there's actually zine community /online/. 😅 I've been wanting to do my own art zines for a while, but haven't really started. Idk if there's actually a zine community/culture locally, other than for indie comics.
Also, "everybody's dollar store is different"
Ours: doesn't exist 😭
Thanks for the tips (and the enthusiastic presentation), you got me excited for future zine projects.
Dang what a bummer you don’t have a dollar store! 😭 but I’m excited you’re going to be making zines nonetheless - thanks for watching x
You are wonderful! Thank you for being authentic.
Thank you for sharing your craft. You have a beautiful personality! Feeling inspired. Subscribed!🩷🩷
Thank you so much!
Hi Bre! I love your videos because you were like a teacher to me when it comes to zinemaking. I wanna make a big zine someday and i am looking forward to your journey. Happy New Year!
😭🖤
Thank you! I hope to see your big zine one day. Hope you’re enjoying the new year so far 🎊🎆
@@brattyxbre Thankss!
Great video thank you Bre! ❤
Thanks for watching 🖤🖤🖤
been watching a lot of your content recently and happy to say i’m planning on selling my first ever illustration-based zine this month!! thank you for the pep talks!! also would love to maybe trade zines with people at some point, i have only ever done a few art trades but zines specifically seem so fun to trade!
This is incredible!! ❤️ Congratulations and thank you so much for your support - I’m glad I could be part of your zine journey :)
I’m always open for trades! Whenever you’re ready feel free to send to my P.O. Box (on my website here: msha.ke/brestinyprintshop) or hit me up on Instagram. It takes me a week or two to mail back bc of my work schedule, but I always do 🫂
@@brattyxbre i definitely will!!!
I've gotten the idea to start a fashion journalism type zine and I'm so excited to get started!
YES
Your channel is so, so useful for a beginner zine-maker :) So far I've made a very small perzine and a slightly bigger and better zine about bonding (because zine-making can absolutely be chemistry revision). New years resolution is to MAKE MORE ZINES!!!
Yes! 2024 is the year of ZINES!!!!
your videos really have helped me with making my zine, thank you so much
Glad I could help 🫂🖤
Thanks so much for watching!
I'm so glad I found this... I've been wanting to make zines so bad, but life got me. This is just.. kind of calling to me again, and maybe this is my sign! Idk, but you got a follow from me
Yesterday I discovered what is a zine! And oh my god! My brain and my heart is happy🎉🎉🎉🎉
These videos have been awesome, you seem like an absolutely rock solid human
I’m looking to selfpublish my comic via zines locally and with what Meta is doing to steal art on its platforms things have been terrifying. I love seeing artists online and all of the creators I follow but I feel like we all need to be supporting our local art communities like city arts councils and art groups.
Good luck with your comic! Zines are a popular medium for self published comics so I know you’ll do well 👍🏽
And I agree that we all need to cultivate our local communities - it’s so powerful what we can accomplish and grow when we lean on each other for support 🖤
@@brattyxbre exactly! We’re stronger together than we are apart 💜💜💜
Awe wow... i love evrything yu had to say... about info abut zine mking, to being so truthful to saring ur journeyyyy
More people liking it doesn’t make this thing any less special.”
I’m glad you kept going with making zines despite the stumbling blocks you encountered along the way. Especially since now you’re here and sharing your creativity for others to enjoy and take inspiration from.
THANK YOU!
I don’t get the logic sometimes bc like you said, MORE FOR EVERYONE 💕🗣️
omg the gatekeeping part, i'm so sorry you dealt with that.
This is YOUR year!! ❤️
There are many ways to fold an 8.5"x11" sheet of paper to make a zine. I love all of them!!!
I love em all too! 🥰
I hate this gatekeeper culture with also clothing small business. It’s makes sense but it gets pretentious when they make you pay for something so small that probably everyone is doing. Thank you for this.
Thank you for listening to what I had to say here ♥️ I appreciate you!
This video for me is like that zine necklace for you 9-6
Very comforting and calming and positive and honest, thank you so so much, I feel like I'm ready to get out of bed and continue with my silly hobby :1
You got this!! ♥️♥️
Just wanted to say you are wonderful ! I am so happy to continued to press on despite the rude welcome you got. Thanks for the info you shared, your vidoe was very informative and helpful!
I couldn't agree more. Soon I will send you some zines! thanks!!!
I CANT WAIT
thanks so much for this video and the recommendations here! and that bone folders gatekeeping was WILD
girrrll I LOVE your videos sm!! THANK YOU for making this amazing content and art and for daring to be yourself. Your videos have been so so useful this week as I struggle to put my art on paper. TY!!🌸
I’m glad! Thank YOU for listening to what I have to say about zines. Stay creative ♥️
You are so talented, amazing and inspiring 🙌⭐️ just discovered your channel and all of your videos are real treasures. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much, I’m happy we crossed paths! ✨
Great tips about zines and art in general, thank you so much!!
I am from Brasil and i want to meet more creators from my country and city lol
also don't apologise about the way you talk or how much, we're here because we love to see you,if anything talk more
Omg that’s so cool 😎 🇧🇷
Maybe you can start a zine club or fest!
Sending you lots of crafty vibes!! ♥️
Good video! Gate keeping exist in all forms of art unfortunately. You are definitely a real one. Keep it up!
Ain't that the truth...we can't escape it 😭
I appreciate ya, thanks for watching and happy new year!
I am so glad I happened upon this video-you are truly so inspiring, Bre! I discovered zines years ago and was completely obsessed, but then gradually life got in the way, and I sort of forgot about them. This video has really sparked my interest again…..thank you so much.
And thank YOU for watching it means the world to me and I’m happy I can be part of your zine journey in this way ❤️ keep going!
I’m always inspired by your videos! :)
27:24 I read somewhere that trends usually come from what people feel like they miss from society (or something like that)
I honestly would love for zines to start trending and becoming more popular, because i can't find any zine community where I live, and It'd be awesome to see all that people can create if the zine community were to grow bigger!
At least I hope :')
(sorry for all the parenthesis)
Anyways, amazing video as usual!!
I agree! Zines are GONNA make a comeback and it’s gonna be great for all of us hehehe
I’m glad my video reached you despite not being notified, that’s been happening to me a lot and I have no idea why LOL but yay! Thank you for watching 🤩
Girl you just got me out my funk. Thank you! I so appreciate your positive and authentic perspective. 💚💚💚

I truly love your channel and how you are passionate about zines, and how you are so supportive to newbies in the community, it very motivates me, so thank you bree !

i used to want to make zines and now i want to again just cause this video came up on my feed, ty for this so much
🥰🫶🏽
Thank you for this video, it's so inspiring to make more zines!
Never heard of this before. I was going to start creating an online magazine. But I definitely need to find local nearby to understand it
Welcome to the zine community!
An online magazine sounds really cool, too 😎👍🏽
Zines and Baja blasts yes please! 😂
😋
Thank you for this! I want to make a zine that is like a vision board/focus priorities. I like the tangible feel of paper over that of a screen. Just something I can always have with me and make me happy 🙏🏽💗
I love that zine idea!! 💡🖤
Good luck, sorry I could offer much help! x
Thanks for watching ❤️
@@brattyxbre no that’s totally fine! I appreciate your response:)) I’ll definitely look into that printer since I live in a small town. I am planning on starting a local group for making zines though, so maybe that’ll bring it to our lil community haha. Have a great day!!
So inspiring!❤ also I love the animal crossing music in the background lol
Happy new year 💌!
Thank you so much for sharing about this ❤
I’ve been following you for a while , say hi from Thailand ❤
Happy new year love 🎊🍹🖤
Thank you for watching! Much love to Thailand from California x
🫂🖤
The art field can be really mean for no damn reason.
Absolutely beautiful ❤️✂️
Zines made just for ourselves are so special - thank you for sharing. I love it
Thank you so much for this!!! (': I made my first zine after watching your zinetober video and have only made two so far ): but this has motivated me again! I appreciate you Bre!!!!
LOVE to hear it 🖤✂️

thanks for sharing! love your work
Why do people keep info to themselves?! ☹️ I’m all for helping people. Thank you for making this video I’m learning about Zines came across this and love your energy! ♥️
I have made zines before but i can still use these tips tbh ^^
Thank you for making your content and thank you for answering my questions about zine making in Instagram DMs haha
Haha of course, i’m happy to help 🫡❤️
I have a question id love from advice on. Making a zine that is using song lyrics or an excerpt from a published book... are these allowed to be sold if we make it clear that it is not ours? I know people make zines using song lyrics all the time I just am not sure what to do about selling them. Thank you in advance!
As far as I know that’s totally fine as long as you are not claiming the lyric as your own (ie: saying you came up with that lyric or something). Zines are typically really punk and not professionally published so it’s usually not a concern if you use material like that in your work. This is just coming from my own opinion - not an expert in any way btw! 😊
Have fun making your zines this year and thanks for watching x 🎊❤️
@@brattyxbre thank you!! Love your videos and all the inspo 🥰✌
